I just loved it!! The drama may have some story line flaws, but I think it is due to 40 episodes limit. It is just that I needed more explanations for motivations, and story and character development. But it's my personal taste, I'm a huge fan of 40-60 ep dramas :) As everyone has said, Luo Yun Xi's acting was magnificent, this man is ART!! But Alen Fang and Jeremy Tsui (oh god I miss him) also delivered excellent acting given the difficulty of their roles . FLs did a great job too! I'm specially happy for Sabrina Chen. This was the first time that my heart felt light after an ending like that. It's as if, from my house, I could feel all the goodness that Tang LiCi believed was intrinsic to humans. I felt that his mission had been accomplished: well done Tang LiCi!!! Last, where was Fu Zhu Mei ??? I have waited until the last seconds for him to make an appearance!! You gotta be kidding me. The world's collapsing and the guy was tucked away in a kitchen? !? All in all, beautiful, beautiful drama, it's a 9/10 for me.
It's a good candidate for best historical c-drama of the year. Let's see how it will end, but so far I like how mature are the story, characters and most of the dialogues.
It didn't finish yet, but Whispers of Fate is already my favorite c-drama of the year and the only one I will give 9/10. 2025 was a little disappointing, but Luo Yun Xi saved it at the very ending :)
This was somehow...different? I don't care about who gets more screen time, as long as the script is coherent which seems to be the case here. I loved the FL/ML companionship and their "response-ability" with the world. The dragon and Rumu's love was a beautiful love story, and Chang Hua Sen was super cute as a "dog". Technically it was a very well produced drama too. The only thing that annoyed me in the whole drama were the evil characters - they were silly, plain, sometimes dumb. But I am happy with the ending. All we need in this world and society is peace and love :)
I am enjoying the story, but evil characters are so one-dimensional that it annoys me. Quan Jing Ting reminds me of Snow White's evil witch and it has been a common trope in c-dramas lately.

That is exactly what I meant. I'm being critical of people complaining about "Chinese state propaganda" in historical dramas , as if China's history could be eraised just to entertain westernized people ;) And by the way I am studying chinese as a grater admiror of your country's history and culture 🙂
Exacctly, this is a liar's game. No mercy for anyone
She tried to tell the truth at least two times, but he didn't aloud her to do that. I think everyone agrees she was wrong, but motivations have a moral difference here: love x convenience. Finally, Xu Yan admitted being dishonest and was ready to take responsibility for all her lies, but SHM kept being a jerk.
SHM threatening her career was the worst for me...I agree it is difficult to say now how much of her success is based on his support and influence, or on her talent, but Xu Yan is so hardworking and ate so much sh*t to be were she is now...Anyway, I'm happy she is a street smart and hope she spends more millions and brings all the annoying bitches to the his table before she leaves this toxic relationship. The whole casting is doing a great job!!!
The emperor and the thing with military secrets was too messed up for me. But I liked the characters in general, and I think the final was satisfying or at least coherent. It was all about sacrificing the individual for the collective/country.
It's a really sad drama. Women should not go through that kind of abusive relationship. Main leads did a great job though. Direction/production are pretty decent, but the story became all about prince's obsession after a few episodes.
What happened with the Jade Linglong? Did he returned it?Or did it stayed in his body, as it (surprisingly) recognized him for being the shadow puppet ?
The last prison scene was so good! She calling him Jin'An when in his arms to see if he would remember was so funny. I got bored from ep.16 to 25, but the last episodes were fire!! From fight scenes to the intimate ones, it made me think this is a cool drama. I really liked he truly wanted to kill her father, it made it more real. Ryan Cheng doing a great work with his three characters. Let's see how it will be in the end :)

Thanks for your comment!! I am so tired of people saying "China/State propaganda"as if western series were neutral, and Chinese history could be erased.
