For an office setting? They seem like the perfect age.
Do you seriously think they’re students just because the setting is at school? That's why you think being in an office setting means aging up the characters? 😂
The characters in the manhwa are actually a teacher and a school chairman, sure, but that doesn’t mean they’re pushing 40. Just like in any job, teachers can be in their 20s or 60s. In this case, the manhwa made it very clear that they’re on the younger side. Period.
Changing the setting to an office wouldn’t be a big deal, it’s just a setting. But let’s be real, these two are way too old to convincingly play the leads from Positively Yours. They’d be fine as office workers in a different drama, but they don’t match these roles. And when I said they are too old for these roles, I mean in Positively Yours, not in general. This page is about Positively Yours, isn't it?
Anyway, if they’re gonna ride on the manhwa’s popularity, of course the manhwa fans are gonna react. That’s not surprising at all. And if my comments annoy you, feel free to scroll past. As you see I'm not exactly known for being kind to strangers.
The whole “go back to the past and uncover someone’s secret” plot feels super familiar. I’ve definitely seen it in a few K-dramas before, just can’t remember which ones. Maybe it’s 'cause I’ve watched way too many at this point.
no. splash splash love is time travel within the same universe, meanwhile this drama is transmigration from universe A (real world) to universe B (novel world). hope that helps!
Shouldn't the title be "The first night with the prince"?
MDL is following the official english title. On VIU it's also The First Night With The Duke. We can't make it up ourselves just because the title doesn't right hehe
This drama is quite fun, but not exactly top-tier. One thing that bothered me is the casting of the female supporting characters. They should’ve picked actresses closer in age to Seohyun. The ones playing Cho Eun Ae and Hwa Seon look noticeably younger, and the age gap really shows when the three of them are in a scene together. In the original story, their characters are supposed to be around the same age.
It’s not that Seohyun looks old, she just has a more mature presence, probably due to her life experience. She doesn’t have that youthful, clueless vibe, which makes the contrast even more obvious, especially since the other characters act pretty childish. Since she’s the female lead, I think the supporting casts should’ve been better matched to her to keep the dynamic balanced.
At first, Aoy was just tired and cranky from cooking non-stop at her traditional food stall. it was always packed and she was drowning in orders. So she applied to be kitchen staff at some fancy restaurant run by a world-famous chef, hoping to finally feel special for once.
Then a rich dude noticed her skills and offered to sponsor her as the head chef at this super high end place.
But I noticed that she still ended up cooking like crazy, nonstop at her restaurant "Flame". The only difference was she wasn’t even mad about it anymore. Makes you wonder, was it really the workload that bothered her before? Or did she just not like serving regular, middle to low-class folks? And she even scolded her friend who didn't have table manner at her traditional food stall.
Anyway, she eventually bounced and went back to where she started. Turns out the fancy world wasn’t for her. That elite crowd? Messy and dark as hell, even if you're just a chef.
Tbh, the plot’s kinda weak. But I like watching cooking scenes, so I still enjoyed it.
