Why do people talk about screen time like this is a music video? 😭 Imagine a drama where the ML or whoever just stares at the camera for 45 minutes per episode for 36 episodes. That would be the worst drama ever, and nobody would want to watch it except fans. One minute of screen time in a drama with a coherent plot and balanced characters is far more impressive than forced, extra, unnecessary time given to one character, whith dramatic music playing in the bg.

Loving it so far. Stunning cinematography and locations. Great acting. Not boring at all .pace is perfect, not too fast or slow. Directing is good too.

At the start of this drama, I really didn't like the ML. His introduction gave me the impression that he was quite shallow—he had multiple wives and appeared to be only physically drawn to the FL. I even dropped the show once because of him, but later decided to give it another try. To my surprise, he actually grew on me. He proved to be a good person and made me reconsider my initial judgment. Despite its length, the show rarely got boring. I skipped a few scenes here and there, but I enjoyed the vast majority of it.

It's just a drama. Getting sohateful over it is so immature, don't you think? you could just read and ignore.

if the SML was the end game this could've been so much more interesting to me.

So I've watched through episode 8. I didn't hate it, but I'm not really loving it either. I actually preferred the second couple. Do you think it's worth continuing? And does the main leads' relationship stay mostly one-sided, with the ML doing all the pursuing and loving? does Susu remains emotionally distant from him?

is this one better or the 2016 one the mystic nine? i thought this was the second season right?

Also, I think that's pretty clear but, in my first comment I addressed why people don't feel connected to the plot, why some might still enjoy the show even without that connection, and why they wouldn't recommend it. I never referred to those who are currently enjoying it.

I'm glad my comment was enough for you. I didn't assume anything from your page I just looked for more context. I based my conclusion on your own words, where you said every episode feels fresh and unique to you. Anyway, someone asked why people are confused, and I gave my take on why this show isn't clicking for some and I wasn't alone in that. I've talked to friends and other C-drama fans too. whether I dismiss the show or not, it's my opinion. What I don't get is why people can hype a show as the best ever after 3 episodes, but when someone points out flaws, suddenly it's ..."invalidating" and everyone attacks with "you can't say anything bad because I love it." No, I'm not a maniac. I don't go around replying to everyone with a different opinion and bring examples just to prove I'm right and the show sucks. That's what the fans do, though. If you don't like it, you're a hater, you're invalidating, you clearly didn't watch it, "are we even watching the same show?", and you're just trying to ruin it for everyone. because obviously this is the best show ever, and if you disagree, the problem is you, not the show. This app is literally a kindergarten. I won't answer further. Thanks.

If you're genuinely curious, read my comment. If you can't handle criticism or it ruins your experience, just skip it. A drama that touches on so many big topics should nail at least one of them in an exciting, unique way. But this one handles everything all at once and does it all pretty blandly which just doesn't work for some viewers.In This kind of shows, Ask anyone to name the best scene, line, or plot moment, and they won't be able to. Because there isn't one.There is no Tentpole scene. No spark, no uniqueness, no standout moment.The screenplay is mediocre, the characters particularly the supporting ones lack depth,The romance is not as exciting and the cinematography falls short compared to other recent productions.The acting is passable but neither great nor outstanding, and the subplots are fairly predictable. In short, there's nothing here that elevates this show to standout status. That said, some viewers may still enjoy it based on personal taste, their attachment to the cast, or a general fondness for this genre. However, it's not something you'd confidently recommend to a casual audience, as it could very easily make them disappointed.People understand what this show is about.They just can't get connected to any of main plots.

I never said I was confused. If dramas can't handle political plots properly, they're better off not attempting them. The power struggle is tired and overdone, and this time around, the leads' chemistry isn't strong enough to carry the weak messy writing.

To be honest, I liked the first episodes. It was a solid start, and everything seemed very promising. But now that I'm on episode 7, nothing has really gripped me yet. I expected a significant plot point to drop by now. I'm still unclear about the main direction of the story .Human trafficing? i doubt it. A powerless emperor? Overused. A female lead constantly bullied by random characters? I hope it's not.Main characters also lack chemistry.Based on these 7 episodes, this show doesn't seem to be building toward anything great. If it improves later on, please let me know!
