personally I wouldn't even start the drama if i didn't know the cast because I absolutely don't like this director and his works.so talk for yourself not for everyone.

I literally said I prefer slower dramas, and you got triggered. And this is a totally different situation from Lament of the Autumn—people are mass-hating on the viewers and actors just because the plot isn’t “normal.” You’re also fighting imaginary enemies: I never called anyone overhyped. 😂 I said they were both super hyped, which is true—they both had dramas that kept them trending in China. You’re exactly the kind of fan who makes people hate your fave because of how toxic you are!

I’m a bit disappointed—the characters are different from the novel. But the scenery and the actors are perfect. If you’ve followed my comments on other dramas (and you clearly have), I’ve advised people to watch based on genre—and I’ve been bothered by people calling me a freak for liking a show. Lament of the Autumn is a Republican drama and has nothing to do with this one. I never brought other dramas into this, even as examples—but you named other dramas and their fans. Seems like you’re pretty triggered. Check my MDL page—it’s obvious I don’t have favourites. But you? I’m not so sure.

True, Someone on another app called me a rape supporter just because I was explaining the details of the drama. Apparently, watching a show that depicts rape means you support rape. I understand that it’s a sensitive topic, but where do we draw the line? People watch shows about serial killers all the time, and nobody automatically assumes they support murder. Being interested in a story that explores something disturbing doesn’t mean you condone what happens in it. There’s a difference between depicting something and endorsing it.Also, they clearly haven’t watched the drama, since YCX is more of a morally grey character. He has both good and bad qualities, and none of this takes place in the modern world.

The fact that you take drama fandoms so seriously that you think people go around sh*tting on other dramas just to boost their own says a lot. Especially when it’s a site like MDL, where scores and comments barely do anything for a drama’s popularity. Not everyone is as hardcore about fandoms as you are.

They’ve probably never read a decent classic novel or watched a movie with genuinely complex characters. Their ability to analyze characters is so limited that all they can do is label them red flags or green flags.

But maybe it was still the best decision. A marriage doesn’t have to last forever. Staying alive is what matters most.

I really don’t get the hate this drama gets when it’s actually doing well in the dark romance genre. It deliberately keeps the leads’ dynamic toxic. People should check what kind of drama they’re signing up for. Expecting a healthy, mature romance here is ridiculous—this isn’t that kind of show.you can see how much detail they’ve put in and how consistent the plot is. “Oh no, this is a bad show because he’s not a green flag , blah blah”—like, yeah? And that doesn't make it a bad show. They’re both supposed to be toxic.You can find your sweet romance somewhere else.

This is just a guess, but Tian Xiwei and Yanan were both super hyped earlier this year, and a lot of fans tuned in because of their previous dramas. That’s probably why this show has been doing so well, even if the plot isn’t the strongest...

Honestly, I think it’s a bit overrated, but maybe it’s just me. I tend to prefer slower shows that focus more on character development.

This show is very exciting. The romance, the twists, the drama—everything lands perfectly. But it's also quite shallow. Most of the characters lack depth, so I'll probably watch it once and then forget it ever existed.

i read it long ago but as I remember it was HE for the fist CP and SE for the second CP.

i understand why people don't like this drama but personally I enjoyed it a lot. If you like a tragic love story , try it. ML and FL are both so stubborn and that makes conflict but they become more mature after some episodes.

yeah exactly. she hurts herself in order to protect others. She often misjudges people and has a very narrow worldview. Being self-sacrificing isn’t good in a situation like this. She didn’t even love her fiancé, but she was still willing to sell her body and then even commited s'd because of him.She has no self-esteem. she's also been very aimless so far.
