OK, I did some research might not be true. It turns out that the ML and the villain look the same, and they're both played by Chengyi. There's also a revenge plot, but people can't tell the villain and the ML apart, which makes it harder for the ML to get his revenge. also this is a modern wuxia.I'm not sure about this bit either, but the villain tricks ML's friends into thinking he is ML. He also makes ML's love interest fall in love with him. Both ML and the villain are equally powerful too.
Do you really think they would do S+ drama with 40 episodes where ML only train his skills? 😂
Yeah, there are S+ dramas too, so apparently you've watched a lot of them. I'll be more specific with my question: is it more of a classic, sword-and-snow-stride kind of wuxia, or a modern kind of wuxia like Blood of Youth?
Another international audience no braincells, why would you based on synopsis? Are you okay? Read the novel instead.…
Another obsessed fan ruining their fave's image by being overly toxic. If I wanted to read a novel, why would I be on MDL, a website designed for finding DRAMAS??Cheng Yi won't thank you for insulting people online.
I love Chengyi, but I'm not excited about this one. The only reason is that the summary didn't interest me. So it's about a man who trains his martial arts skills in a wuxia world? there is no mystery? or revenge?
This drama is definitely the best CDrama I watched this summer, and I'm pretty sure I won't change my mind. The characters are so rich and layered, just as I expected from Jiu Lu Fei Xiang.
I'm hooked. The chemistry is great, the acting is great, and the blend of Western and chinese fantasy elements, historical setting and political arc is interesting, too. I love it. I'm a big fan of creative plots and this one ticks all the boxes.
Now this is what we call a brilliant xianxia drama! I thought I had lost interest in xianxia dramas, but apparently those dramas just weren't captivating enough for me. This one, however, is great so far! I love it
Wait a moment, as someone who hasn’t read the novel, could you give the example how this drama mess it up and…
If you like the setting, read the novel. It focuses on survival for a woman in ancient times, touching on all the issues a woman had to face to become a general, and all the sacrifices she made. It's how she changes and heals and forgives and becomes stronger by time. The novel is detailed and beautiful, and their love story is poetic.she even gives up on becoming a general but destiny pushes her into becoming one after her rebirth. for the romance part, unlike drama ,they meet by accident, and she falls in love with him. The story slowly reveals how their destinies were intertwined in past and present lives, and that he always loved her too.so all along it wasn't one-sided love.also her revenge is karmic and she never based her life on taking revenge.
I know people try to excuse it, but this show is a disappointment. Whoever was responsible made a mess of it. They took a good novel and made it random. The novel touched on so many topics that made it beautiful and deep, but the show is just another fluffy historical Chinese drama. Nothing about it is unique, and nothing makes it stand out from other similar shows. The Double and The Glory were so well done, though they had to change the plots dramatically. So no excuses are accepted here — they just did a horrible job: the editing, the plot changes, how the characters were portrayed, the fast pace and the unnecessary earlier romance. Is it even a war-revenge drama anymore? Moon is far and cold? Well, not in the drama. As a reader of the novel i would say, they didn't even portray the romance correctly — a beautiful one-sided love is turned into a mess. I think I have the right to be angry. I won't rate this show. because if I have to, I can't give it a high score. I love the cast though.I will wait for their next projects.
I rarely rewatch shows, but I recently watched this one again after years. I barely remembered the details, and it gave me butterflies again. It's not perfect, but if you're looking for a romance with likeable characters, this is the one for you. The pace is slow, but it's never boring. Also, the age gap is cute, and sometimes really noticeable.( the FL acts childish ) consider if you like age gaps before starting it.
it's because nothing special exists in the first episodes, it's a typical xianxia, but keep going and you'll see!!
ok thank you sm for replying ❤️ I choose to trust you instead and continue ✨️ if the rest is interesting, it's worth it . also thank you for not spoiling it 💫💕
