Let me add some good deeds also 😅- helping all the sisters singlehandedly with their luggages in day1 (which…
i was hoping that someone would reply and add more to the list cause i knew i was forgetting some! he’s been so amazing since the show started! and even before the show imo. i mean, how the heck was he still awake on day 1 when he finished shooting at 5am and had to immediately fly to beijing AND THEN fly to chile and was STILL rational and emotionally stable while handling all their problems? he must’ve been so tired and yet, he was never irritable even when others were, and just faced the problems head on.
and same haha if it was me, i probably would’ve broken down in tears from stress especially with chen hao’s nagging. she’s terrifying!
i’m here to watch hou minghao step up and solve every problem they encounter 😅
so far, - overweight baggage going to chile - transporting their 30pcs of luggage to their hotel in santiago - overweight baggage going to rapa nui - returning the luggage they took by mistake - finding a way to go to the best spot to see the sunrise in rapa nui - finding a way back to their hotel - organizing their itinerary in santiago
i’m expecting more as the episodes continue hahaha
edit as of 09.19, - taking care of victoria’s lost luggage and refusing to give up hope it would be found even when she herself was giving up - helping deng enxi ask the front desk about activities - helping tian jiarui when he accidentally damaged something with the car - assisting and encouraging victoria as they climbed a sand dune all the way to the top and assisting her as she descended - also, immediately assuring chen hao that everything will be alright, that he’ll take care of it! he and victoria are probably the only ones who can tone down her nagging 😅
Sorry, this series was very disappointing, what so great about Delinquent high school kids that cheat during their…
it seems to me that your description fits the drama on the surface level only. did you watch until the end?
yang xi was dumb and lazy at the beginning but in the end she wizened up and began to sincerely work hard. hua biao was liked as a character not just because he was smart, but also because he always tried his best for his friends and family without expecting anything in return. the guy who stole from his father was a real brat at the beginning, but in the end learned how to be responsible and matured. and no highschool would allow students to have access to chemicals, which is why they had to sneak in and hide from the guard.
in any case, perhaps this drama is just too deep for you to appreciate.
it’s amusing how hou minghao’s team for the final flag game is almost a team filled with idols haha they’re definitely the F5 of tenday
neo choosing the logic problems was a good call as well! compared to the other categories, it was the only one where everyone in the team could try to solve. and even tho they couldn’t solve one of the problems, shen yue’s luck must’ve stayed with them cause they managed to guess their way to the answer!!
also, neo facing nuo yan in the flag game might not have meant anything to him but it was cathartic for me hahahaa because it was nuo yan who inadvertently caused neo to be eliminated from the main game 🤣
so much drama happening on the main game (which i can barely understand cause the subs suck) while everyone at the revival island is super chill and just happy getting reunited with their friends 😅 those who spent the most time in revival island are the real winners here imo! they don’t have electricity but get served food everyday, the games aren’t as intense and not too stressful and you can just see them chilling around the island XD
Right it’s low-key real confusing with all the teams as well, the episodes just posted got me confused with…
Yeah, it’s weird isn’t it? It’s the type of show you only understand as the episodes go on haha
But on the last episode, I know they had to split up (at least for hmh shen yue group)—10 people for an afternoon game and then 4 people for the game at night. Maybe that was the case for the two person game you saw? I only ever watch HMH games so I have no idea about the others hahaha
there are many good reviews here but my bff said it isn't much good, what should I do? should i give it a try?
it’s a drama with lots of comical moments (since it is adapted from a comic 😉) so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. but try to watch just a few episodes and see for yourself! i cringed a lot at ep 1 since it just looks so tacky and almost dropped it, but then by the end of the episode, i got hooked and here i am! 🤣
this has got to be the most confusing show format ever. why do they name the episodes as the date they release? and then they have VIP only content along with it. if my understanding is right, they release 3 videos per week (every friday, i believe). part 1 and 2 shows the games. the third content is VIP only where it shows what the members do before and after playing the games—most of the teasers they put out for this are mostly seen on the VIP only videos (ex. hou minghao playing with the cat, making chili oil, cooking steak).
anyway. out of the 3 games they played so far, in all fairness hou minghao did fairly well! he’s almost always one of the first one to catch on how to win the games. as of the 2nd game, xiao hou ranked at the top 5!
in my hopes of wang ye actually being a main role despite HMH only filming for a short time, perhaps he had filmed s2 scenes in advance while filming s1?? they knew there was going to be a s2 anyway, given the final scene, so what if? ðŸ˜
all of a sudden, politics has reared it’s ugly head. on one side there’s someone who wants to rise up for the stability of his nation, another side keeps destroying said nation in his bid to keep his own power which prompted the first side to action in the first place, and then there’s another side still hidden in the shadows who wants to steal power and has been manipulating both sides. all while good people get sacrificed.
but this interesting! who knew DY could go this deep? even i can’t decide which side, between ye dengzhi and xiao ruofeng, is right
How is the bromance, if there is any? I am fine with steong male friendshio between main leads as well?
oh sorry i think i might have given the wrong impression! the main leads are a male and female pair, but no romance develops between them, just plain friendship and really strong loyalty. plus the female lead isn’t your usual ditzy female either, so it’s a lot of fun!
the strong bromance i hinted at was between two of the supporting leads. there was a whole arc for that with the main leads so it felt like they were the main characters anyway!
and yes, you can totally watch it just for the bromance! i did hahaha but i ended up watching the entire thing anyway!
i went into this not knowing anything about tboy and based on the comments i am enjoying it more than those who…
In my case I’ve seen lots of comments from TBOY fans complaining about how DY isn’t as good already, so I thought perhaps those who didn’t have expectations from tboy would enjoy it better (as is the case with me haha).
I actually enjoyed the first episodes a lot! The reveal of who they really are was really fun for me! Like for the first few eps I really was wondering how Dongjun could afford to start his own bar lol and if he really was as weak as he appeared to be. And so when it was revealed that he was actually from a super well known and powerful family, I couldn’t help but cheer haha It was mentioned in the summary that he was a from a Marquis household but that didn’t really mean anything to me then!
There’s joy in getting surprised when things are revealed, just as there is joy in finding out a beloved characters’ past!

i understand. but to be fair, the star wars prequels at least had anakin as main protagonist, who had a huge and significant role in episodes 4-6. whereas for DY, baili dongjun didn’t really have a strong connection to the main leads or to the story of TBoY. so i think this makes it difficult for fans of tboy to find connection to DY.
in any case, i only wanted others to know that you can still enjoy this drama without watching the first one :)
