i haven’t cried MULTIPLE times over a drama since One Liter of Tears. ugh. what a pair of episodes today! hou minghao truly deserves an award for his performance—my heart still HURTS so much for zhu yan 😭 i still can’t get ovet the very last scene in ep 17, when they were all hugging and zhu yan gave wen xiao a small unsure smile from a distance UGHHHH PLEASE the world doesn’t deserve you babyyyyy!!
on a side note, anyone else still suspicious of pei sijing? especially when she told wen xiao that she might have done something as bad as what zhu yan did? that and the fact that she has been CONSISTENT in reminding zhou yichen that it was zhu yan who killed his family and kept pushing zhou yichen to kill zhu yan whenever there was an opportunity. if she really is the spy, she better make it up big time to zhu yan!!
According to the counter above, there’s an episode tomorrow.
the new airing calendar was released and unfortunately it’s true that there’s no new episodes tomorrow AND the day after 😭 we’re left to stew in this grief for two whole days!
LOL, so many empty or very new accounts are coming out of the woodwork trying to tell everyone how slow and boring…
agree. of course everyone can have their own opinion but just leaving “it’s so boring i’m dropping it” with no explanation as to WHY is extremely sus behavior imo.
most likely these people have been biased against the drama or the director or one of the actors from the start and just want to make others feel bad about enjoying a drama they don’t like. that, or they just want to feel superior because they think ~their~ favorite drama is better.
my guys... why do I feel like the overall plot is gonna end up being: Everyone who joins the team falls in love…
even worse is that we have confirmation, as shared by hou minghao and chen duling in an interview, that when they were in kunlun mountain (meaning it’ll happen pretty soon!), zhu yan found a reason to want to live because of them 🥲
i really thought the baize token was going to be the macguffin that would drive the characters’ motivations…
agree! the slow mo is cool cause it accentuates the actors’ beauty/handsomeness, but most of the time i just want to see them fight it out ala jackie chan or bruce lee films! 🤣 such a waste cause i know most of them can do it! but still, that isn’t reason enough to call this drama slow!
is FoF really as slow as some have claimed? tbh it’s moving pretty fast for me!
i really thought the baize token was going to be the macguffin that would drive the characters’ motivations to the end, so when they found it pretty much at the beginning i was shocked! usually these things get found nearing the end but the fact that they found it around 10 episodes in, is pretty fast to me! another fast thing is how nearly everyone’s pasts and motivations have been pretty much revealed already, or at least we know enough that we understand their actions, and all that within 10 episodes too!
and yes there have been multiple sub plots but if this is reason why some people think FoF is slow and boring, then they might be the type of viewer who expects all the information to be handed to them, the type who finds it boring to theorize and THINK. idk if it’s because this is the type of storytelling i’m a fan of (aka the main characters doing side quests as they journey towards the goal) but these sub plots are pretty important! with each sub plot done, the characters grow and mature, the lore is expanded and we get little hints of what is to come!
and so no, the plot isn’t slow at all. i think it’s going exactly at the right pace and rightfully taking the time to unravel and bloom.
(wishing fervently it stays this good till the end!!)
From the Reuters , I thought they are a love triangle for WenXiao 🥹
they kinda do in a way, but wen xiao already firmly drew the line with zyc from the beginning, telling him she will always be his aunt lmaooo not even an older sister, but an aunt 😅 zyc probably knows and is too righteous to pursue wx as well. so i think his actions against zyz when he gets too close to wx isn’t out of jealousy, but more of a younger bro protecting his sister from other boys XDD
I'd say Li Lun is all talk but he won't do it lmao. Also, from what I've seen from the mv and the leaks, seems…
in addition, zhu yan doesn’t seem too threatened by li lun based on his reactions so far. like, the way he described his whole situation to yichen and wen xiao was like li lun’s an old friend who was having tantrums cause he snitched on him for being mean, ya know? 🤣 and since he isn’t concerned, then maybe zhu yan knows that yeah, li lun’s just all talk lmaoo but then again, zhu yan doesn’t really show much emotion. he hides it all behind smirks and his snark!
i think this is the first drama i’ve watched where the protagonists haven’t really “won” since the beginning 😅 all this time they’ve been playing into li lun and the chongwu group’s hands! it’s frustrating but it also means that when they do win (god i hope they do) and thwart the antagonists’ plans, it will be very satisfying!
i’m also confused by li lun. i guess because everyone’s having fun with li lun’s ex-boyfriend energy, it’s influencing my view on him haha we assumed that he’s obsessed with zhu yan but recent episodes suggests otherwise. i mean, yes he keeps following zhu yan (prolly only because he knows zhu yan has the other half of the token), but agreeing to give zhu yan’s inner core to someone else isn’t a sign of that obsessive “you’re mine” behavior we thought he had, right? 🤣 so hmmmm what is your end game, li lun?? why do you want to destroy the baize token so badly? for what purpose??
another thing: in the myths, bingyi is the subordinate of ying long. and yet in this recent episode, we learn that the bingyi clan was the one who killed ying long! there was also a talk of a flood, which was the reason why the baize goddess came down to the mortal realm in the first place. well in the myths, ying long actually helped in stopping the flood. i wonder if all these details will come into play later on!
In truth, knowledge does progress a lot. These thousand-year old demons are just stuck in the past and can't comprehend…
well actually… considering that ZY told RY that he should be thankful cause he had to act like a fool just to get the medicine to heal his wound… then ZY probably knew about it!
but then this also begs the question of why couldn’t ZY just heal RY when he’s been healing himself? that is unless… ZY healing himself is the one that is fake hmmmm
Suddenly remembered, Neo wrote a paragraph about Zhao Yuan Zhou after they wrapped up filming ⤵️Hello, I am…
i was excited to meet zhao yuanzho after reading this cause i love characters with duality. but now, after actually meeting him and then reading this i am heartbroken! especially the “i am tired” and especially when one of his lines are “meeting you all feels like i’ve been in a long beautiful dream. but dreams must always come to an end. and now, i must leave.” i think that while his true purpose of helping the bureau is to bring back balance to the human world and the wilderness (as was commanded of him in that one scene where he was asked to redeem himself), him teaching zyc and making him promise to kill him is probably his own personal wish 🥲 and probably a way to also redeem his own sins against zyc IF he really did kill his family (no matter what zyz says, i’ll only believe it when we actually see him do it 😅).
maybe not the focus, but it looks like there will be! even in the first three episodes they were already setting up the romance between ML and FL. and a pretty good setup too!
unfortunately (or fortunately for some) the main tag of this drama is ‘fantasy’ so i think you will have to manage your expectations with the romance 🥺
i was expecting the worst but i actually really like it so far! one thing i didn’t expect was the comedy and for me, that’s what sold the whole thing! i had some issues with the cuts though, since some scenes felt like they were just randomly thrown in, but it’s a minor thing! the scenes with our demon hunting team more than make up for it! also plssss the way everyone badmouths the supposed big bad demon TO HIS FACE and how the big bad demon lets them get away with it will always be so hilarious to me!!! srsly if that isn’t a sign that the demon has a good side to him, i don’t know what else could be!
I agree and I think the way she expressed in that particular situation was not right. If she gave her explanation…
i also mostly agree with you, except for the part where “zyt and rzs didn’t tell chen hao of the changes” because they did (see 1:01:17 here https://youtu.be/UisATEjYKec?si=aHbFF2EjKI_Eqr6W). chen hao acknowledged their planned change too, but in the end, she DID unconsciously pressured them to continue with recitation when she kept on being critical of their singing.
logically, i do understand where she was coming from, she was only suggesting what SHE thought was best for them seeing that they’re actors. but as someone with incredible stage fright, i couldn’t help but sympathize more with zyt. for me, i’d rather do something i’m confident i won’t embarrass myself with rather than something i’m supposed to be good at but isn’t comfortable doing.
i thought i had the wrong impression of chen hao but after today’s episode, i’m pretty sure that i wouldn’t enjoy being her travel companion 😅 not because she’s blunt and straightforward, but more of because she doesn’t really have much empathy towards others hahaha
on the other hand, i’m surprised by yutong! i’m really amazed by her ability to tell when someone needs comforting and how she’s able to say the right words as well. i also really like how she takes the initiative to approach you first huhuhu now as someone who finds it difficult to open up, THAT is a trait i would really like to have in a friend!
and lol, listening to hou minghao trying to explain himself to chen hao felt like i was listening to a business presentation! his ability to lay out and organize all his thoughts is a trait I would veeeery much want to have!!
on a side note, anyone else still suspicious of pei sijing? especially when she told wen xiao that she might have done something as bad as what zhu yan did? that and the fact that she has been CONSISTENT in reminding zhou yichen that it was zhu yan who killed his family and kept pushing zhou yichen to kill zhu yan whenever there was an opportunity. if she really is the spy, she better make it up big time to zhu yan!!
