Why are there hardly any viewers? So many people on MDL have been waiting for this, so what went wrong?
i’m guessing it’s because there’s nothing really to talk about haha

on ep 9: i thought fu rong had a deep reason for staying in the village so when the truth came out lmaooo THIS is the girl you’re so willing to fight your friends AND the world for zhuge qing? 🤣 also, i can’t believe he was actually going to fight with her to defend the village when he knows for a FACT that the chief of that same village manipulated him. he just fought and won over his inner demon but instead of coming out of that wiser, he just dumbed down instead 😅

manga readers, is this how it really happened in the original media?

the drama is not bad but fun to watch butI like more Wanyan Luo Rong as Zhuge Qing in saison 2 if he was there,…
i remember reading a post about how WYLR had a scandal when s2 was filming. so they had no choice but to get another actor unfortunately. fortunately, i guess it was proven wrong because he started being active again recently.

I just finished season 1 and dangg why they change actor for Zhuge Qing?
they had no choice but to replace him. i’ve read somewhere that the original actor had a scandal when s2 was filming. thankfully it was proven false i guess since he started being active again recently.

i know that none of xiaohou’s projects have had the luck of hitting big but i love how he chooses good projects for himself (that is, assuming he chooses them by himself). aside from all of his roles being a genius or all-powerful in some way (i really think he deliberately chooses these hahaha maybe cause he’s very smart in real life too? XD), they’re all very different and very distinct from one another. don’t you think it’s a sign of someone willing to take on challenges to grow in his craft? i really think he’s amazing for it. he’s never chosen dramas that fit the trend of what’s popular and could easily hit big—i mean, look at his list and try to find a straight romcom; there’s none! even the variety shows he participates in are a challenge in some form! especially in his early days, where he kept on participating in acting variety shows where participants need to act live only after a short practice; one of them was even an impromptu acting show!

as a fan, it’s both frustrating and funny that he has never done a simple romcom drama that’s just about the daily life of two people and their romantic moments 😅 i think the closest we had of this was “when we write love story” and “back from the brink”! and both of them aren’t even close to the normal romcom dramas that’s prevalent everywhere! one is an acting contest disguised as a dating show, while the other really focuses more on two people finding purpose together.

in any case, he’s still young (and lol perhaps that babyface of his actually prevents him from getting the normal type of romcoms? XD) and i know he’ll have more projects in the future. i hope that someday soon, he’ll finally have luck and become a household name because xiaohou definitely deserves it!

as a zhu yan stan lmaoo, such a shame that he didn’t die alone 😅 his death would’ve had more impact if bai jiu and ying lei didn’t also sacrifice themselves for each other.

but still! what an ending! i love how each of the characters had a meaningful end to their character arcs: zhou yichen, who was hateful towards demons and who couldn’t let go of his past, was finally able to with the very help of the demon he hated and whom he now considers a brother, a soulmate; bai jiu, who was afraid of getting hurt and scared all the time, chose to suffer getting burnt so that he could save the person he respected the most; ying lei, who wanted to save the most important person to him, who wanted acknowledgement from his zyc, finally achieved both after sacrificing himself to save zyc; pei siheng, whose only wish was to help his sister, was finally able to save her in the last battle and pei sijing, having enough time with her brother, was finally able to move on from her guilt and regrets; wen xiao was weak at the beginning but despite being the weakest, it was her words of wisdom that brought this group together and kept them glued (and kept them sane lmao); and finally, even tho he still ended up having to sacrifice himself at the end, zhao yuanzhou really did find a reason to live, something he thought he would never be able to find.

there are some plot holes but this drama really was more about character development. and because it did that really, really well, i find that i don’t mind the plot holes at all! instead, those plot holes can now be used to make some interesting theories.

'大梦归离' being one of two greatest fortunes in the world according to bingyi and ying long makes me really, really hopeful for a happy ending. it might be a bittersweet one, but a happy ending nevertheless!

i also find "reunions after parting for a long time" very beautiful and i think it would make a really good ending ;~;

But I think they are making this choice as group and not just him. ZY is ready to sacrifice himself, and looks…
ZY is the type who smiles and laughs on the outside but is weeping and hurting on the inside and keeps it all to himself, afraid of hurting others, especially those he loves. he's used to this song and dance by now, of him needing to die for the sake of others, that it's almost automatic to offer his own life by now, regardless of what he wants. for ZY, his life was never about himself, it was always about others.

and so, even if his mouth says, "kill me", in the deepest parts of himself, he's actually saying, "save me" T____T

what an episode! if that were the ending, i probably would've been so happy just cause it was THAT good. especially that scene where ying long blessed them where their hardships are simply false alarms and "fangs of fortune"--THE CHILLS!! i bet it makes better sense in the actual language but seeing the title and especially it being said by this mythical creature as a blessing and ESPECIALLY right after a scene like THAT!! i am floored. it was epic and the time just flew by!

...now for the next episode...

i love how when, even when a character's being a jerk, we can still understand where they're coming from. BUT IT STILL HURTS!!

how do you define a “happy ending”? for me, if the good guys win at the end of the day, like really truly win with no “but wait there’s more” twists, then even if a character dies i’ll still see it as a happy ending—a bittersweet but still happy ending 😅 even if the characters go their separate ways, as long as the parting ends happily with hopes of a reunion then that’s also a happy ending for me.

an ending where everyone lives and no good guys die, for me that’s a “fairytale ending” where they “all live happily every after”. and while this drama has major fairytale vibes, i truly doubt we’ll get a happily ever after!! zhu yan’s constant “death is my wish” has been a major red flag since the first episode after all! 🤣

i guess for me, there’s no “happy” or “sad” ending. just a “good” or “bad” ending. at the end of the day, whether the ending is happy or sad, i just really hope that it’ll be a good one! i need the good guys to win!!

fangs of fortune has EVERYTHING i could ever
hope for in a found family, fantasy and adventure drama!! the believable and heart-wrenching journey from strangers and enemies to friends and family. the well-thought out and complex lore! all the worlds and creatures we were introduced and heard of. and the magic!!! it feels like i’m back in the days when films like the lord of the rings, harry potter and the chronicles of narnia were being shown! i feel like a kid again, getting immersed in the ~magic~ of it all!! and now that it’s nearing it’s end, i have to say i’ll probably be re-watching this again and again and again!!

zhou yichen has the whole demon hunting gang beside him as he goes through this hardship.

li lun has been wailing about how no one was beside him when he was going through his hardships.

and yet, zhu yan, who probably had the hardest time of all, not only had no one beside him, but has never complained about it at all. now he’s showing a behavior of, “i promise i won’t let you go through the same thing” with zhou yichen.

the demon hunting gang better appreciate the hell out of zhu yan! what’s ironic is that even though he’s a great demon, if not THE greatest demon, he’s probably more humane than most of the humans 😅

one thing that has amazed me so far about this drama is its consistency and attention to detail—injuries don’t just magically disappear even in quick shots, clothes aren’t repaired magically, characters having the same braid cause they were taken care of by the same mountain god 🥹, items (that teleport device thing) being with a character cause that character was the one who last had it a few episodes back! it’s been pretty cool at connecting stuff like that so far! i haven’t encountered major plot holes either. yes, there are a lot of things that have yet to be answered, but the drama isn’t finished yet so i can’t exactly claim these are plot holes, right? because the story has been flowing smoothly so far, i have hopes that all our questions will be answered eventually (even if it’s a gjm drama haha)!

## Analyzing Zhao Yuanzhou's Character Song from "Fangs of Fortune"

**Understanding the Context:**

Zhao Yuanzhou, a complex and enigmatic character from the Chinese drama "Fangs of Fortune," is portrayed as a powerful demon with a tragic past. His character song, "一舟飄渺天地間" (A Boat Drifting in the Vast Expanse of Heaven and Earth), delves deep into his internal struggles and aspirations.

**Key Themes and Symbolism:**

1. **Isolation and Loneliness:**
* The imagery of a solitary boat adrift in a vast expanse symbolizes Yuanzhou's sense of isolation and detachment from the world.
* His struggle to connect with others, even those he cares about, is a recurring motif.

2. **The Burden of Destiny:**
* The lyrics convey a sense of fatalism, as if Yuanzhou is bound by a predetermined fate.
* His actions are driven by a higher purpose, but he often feels trapped by circumstances beyond his control.

3. **The Conflict Between Good and Evil:**
* The song hints at the moral ambiguity of Yuanzhou's character.
* He is capable of both great cruelty and profound compassion, making him a fascinating and morally complex figure.

4. **The Search for Redemption:**
* Despite his dark past, Yuanzhou yearns for redemption and a chance to atone for his sins.
* He seeks to break free from the cycle of violence and destruction that has defined his existence.

**Emotional Impact:**

The song's melancholic tone and evocative lyrics evoke a deep sense of empathy for Yuanzhou. His internal turmoil and longing for acceptance are palpable, making him a relatable and sympathetic character.

Yeah. That conversation felt disturbing. No matter how many times I watch or how I look at it, I can't justify…
it may be that zyc is just that emotionally constipated haha at least that’s what i like to believe! i want to believe that zhu yan has been able to worm his way through zyc’s fortified heart! and that because of that, zyc perhaps did honestly wanted to make zhu yan feel better but because he still can’t let go of his pride, he said all the WRONG things and probably made zhu yan feel WORSE 🥲

Seeing accusations of plagiarism popping up so dropping this even before I even started...Edit: People defending…
i’ve seen these accusations and think it’s like kpop fans accusing some other group of plagiarism because they “copied” the color or the vibe of the clothes even tho the songs are completely different which in this case, it looks like it is.

i hope it won’t let you stop watching the drama tho! it’s truly a good drama with amazing cinematography, good acting and lots of heart-warming and heart-wrenching moments.

i was about to sleep until i had this nagging thought: if zhu yan has lived for 34,000 years and the blood moon happens every year, then why did he lose control only 8 years ago? 🤔

But she did a bit? She told WenXiao she’s the tree and cloud for ZhuYan on that endless canyon he falls in,…
we’ll see! maybe she finally had a change of heart when she heard from her brother how much zhu yan had to sacrifice for him? i still can’t help but be suspicious as she has a lot going against her than for her. that scene you cited was the only time she actually showed kindness towards zhu yan imo!

Hello angst!!! I actually was grateful for that little bit of humor at almost the end of episode 17 with Jiu and…
i think “having the ability to choose” and “choices” is the overall theme of the drama! all the demons we’ve met so far, from ran yi to cheng huang to fei and even zhu yan—the story moved because of their choices. ran yi chose to kill to be with miss qi. cheng huang chose to kill to turn back time and redo his mistakes against the original baize goddess. fei chose to sacrifice his inner core so that qing geng could have her freedom and qing geng chose to stay so that at least one person would remember that fei once existed. as for zhu yan, it’s not about him choosing right now, it’s about him not having any choices 😭

and if “choice” and “choosing” is really the theme of the drama, then having li lun as the villain—someone who is able to REMOVE one’s ability to choose—is really genius!
