They really went overboard with the CGI this time. A lot of the fight scenes the characters just stand there and…
as a causal cdrama viewer, those cgi scenes made me impressed and doesn’t feel tacky. it even drew non-cdrama watchers to watch with me because it was fun and looked stunning.
I usually hate spoiled brat characters but they really managed the impossible and was able to balance out Baili…
A scene that comes to mind was Dongjun’s reply to if he had a grudge against Xiao Ruofeng. While he said that he didn’t have a grudge because he knew that Xiao Ruofeng didn’t kill his master, in the end he said his true feelings that he can’t help but blame him anyway. And I love that because of how real it is! Not blaming Xiao Ruofeng was mature but admitting that he still felt mad was very human and was tbh was very endearing!
The balance between arrogance and childishness with mature and wise is what makes Baili Dongjun a very good character!
The portrayal of HMH is impressive. Acting like a brat without grating or pissing off the audience? this is rare.…
Agree! If a character, especially the main character, gets over annoying then it’s practically game over so I’m glad that both the script and HMH is able to to give us a main character that we care for!
I usually hate spoiled brat characters but they really managed the impossible and was able to balance out Baili Dongjun being spoiled but also maintaining a kind heart at the core. Hou Minghao is amazing so far for pulling that balance off!
Great start so far!! I have no background of the donghua or the blood of youth, i just know enough how characters here will end up in the future, and I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know all the characters’ quirks and relationships!
i was keeping up to date with sweet home just to see eunhyeok reunite with the s1 cast and maybe have this grand entrance to save the day like the true badass that he is but i just saw the reunion clip and lost hope ;~; i wanted a tearful hug between the siblings and a resolution to their hate but actually love dynamic where they drop off the hate and just admit they care for each other but… i guess this isn’t a post apocalyptic drama for nothing
every time i am reminded of when we were young, my heart twinges 🥹 this drama was just THAT good—even after years has passed since i watched it, i can still look back with fondness with a hint of bittersweet.
still hoping, not for a season 2, but at least a special!
and for those who didn’t like the open ending, i get it. this is a drama, it doesn’t need to follow reality 100%, they really could have given us a straightforward ending! but idk, for some reason, i actually really like the ending we got. it’s open ended, but the drama ending up that way gives us liberties to think of what might be~! and for me, i chose to be hopeful!
cannot recommend this drama enough! this is still 10/10 for me!
I did not watch first season but I am curious why Lee Yeon has to go back in time. It will be good if he will…
agreed. hoping for a happy ending for all characters this time around! but it’s drama so, i won’t hope too much haha also, since they already announced a third season and already looks like they have a plot for it, i’m hoping they won’t use this season as a setup and leave the plot hanging
i’m glad it’s a time-travel premise, because that means the growth of the characters that we saw in season 1 still exists and we don’t have to start all over again. i just hope lee yeon will return AFTER the events of season 1–if only to see him lose it upon seeing lee rang again, alive albeit hostile towards him. personally i also hope lee yeon could prevent or change some events from happening; perhaps make up with his brother earlier? XD
in all fairness it had a good plot which made the ending all the more shocking. it managed to draw you in…! only to suddenly let you go in the end. still, it is written in the summary that it was made for the purpose of creating awareness to organ donation and its processes. looking at it that way, it really didn’t need to finish the plot because it already accomplished what it set out to do hahaha
kudos to minhyuk tho! his character and performance here brought so much life into the drama. every scene with him in it made me laugh a lot!
i watched this for seunggi after watching seunggi’s mouse but ended up really really liking yook sungjae hahaha now i just finished the episode with sangrok and the cheerleaders and i know sungjae and sangyun’s graduation is coming closer and closer ;~; it’s heartbreaking that they had to leave and the thought of not seeing the four of them together after saddens me. the show got really really lucky casting them at the beginning!
the new manager reminds me of managers i hated working with lmao doesn’t listen to the staff who worked there longer than him, expects everyone to follow his orders, doesn’t help fix the process and tries to add more “value” instead.
except for the manager, all the characters were interesting. too bad i feel like they’re gonna end up suppressed under what is shaping up to be the gary-stu halo of the manager.
can’t believe i won’t have anything to look forward to the following saturdays T___T
and lol, is it just me or am i the only one who likes HMH and YCY interactions more than the drama hahaha because they match really well together. YCY gets HMH to loosen up. and HMH gets YCY to open up~ plus they can tease each other as hard as they can and they never take it against each other! they clash ALL THE TIME but they find a compromise right away anyway
HMH has always shown to be a self-reflecting person so its nice to see him speak his thoughts and share them with YCY. he’s still very young though, so perhaps he says some of them naively, but stuff like: - like the little prince and the rose, there will be someone who will love you and your imperfections - you failed at it only because you lack experience (and not because you’re completely lacking) - your failure and then subsequent success due to hard work could be an inspiration to others - just because others are good at something you’re not, shouldn’t invalidate the things you’re good at and more are all very memorable.

will really miss this show!
the novel, who knows!
as for me, i’m the type who loves mystery and schemes so the drama’s rong xia fits my liking :))
