HAHAHA DAMN I wasn't expecting Anthony and Ji Won to be "family", it sure will be hilariously messy!! I freaking…
It's so funny 'cause I couldn't see it coming from a mile away LOL. I kept on wondering why they weren't showing his hyung's face and then 5 seconds before the 'young Anthony' stepped in/showed up at the dinner I was like "NO WAYYYYY, his stepbrother is Anthony?!?!"
It's definitely going to be a crazy ride - not only is it childhood crush/almost bf vs. childhood idol crush/oppa, they're also stepbrothers.
Also the fact that Jin Jin is going on WGM with Anthony omg, a hilarious mess is about to ensue and I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT.
#still shook by the plot twist #this drama got me good
................. I can't believe it
Is he really dead?
I was literally in utter shock for 10 minutes after watching the scene trying to process what happened ;;; Just sat there bawling and saying 'They can't do that to Rin!!!' - I was seriously not thinking straight lol. But after calming down and reading the written translation of the preview for ep 19, I think it's pretty obvious he's not dead yet (seriously show, I will not forgive you if you kill off Rin). I think MBC decided to give us the preview earlier knowing that the fans couldn't deal with waiting a whole week to find out whether Rin survived that slash. Also as some fans have noticed, Rin still has one more outfit to change into (from the bts pics uploaded on Yoona's Instagram).
I soooo knew it that today the queen will die.. Ahh~ the happy moments has ended.. My lord.. The Scarlet Heart…
Yeah, definitely saw it coming in yesterday's ep but it was still sad. Especially the fact that she died holding the peony (and it dropped from her hand) and that Won refused to see his mother... such a painful death. I was also so sad when Furatai was stabbed by Song In (screw you, Song In). You're right about the downfall, from the preview - Won goes on a killing spree after the queen's death.
I think Rin is actually trying to help the king and Won; he's just playing along with Song In to know their…
I totally agree with your line "Even if he doesn't end up with San (he probably will and if he doesn't then I'm gonna be so pissed off) just don't kill Rin." Literally, I can't stress enough "DON'T KILL RIN." I read a comment on soompi that mentioned that Teacher Lee seemed to allude to Rin sacrificing himself for the 'greater good' by always thinking of others before himself (?) But somehow I just don't get the feeling that Rin will die and if he does then... I'll be forever pissed at the writers lol.
And yes!! I can hardly concentrate sometimes since I'm just so caught up in ogling HJH wearing those gorgeous Goryeo garbs! The colours, patterns, and designs are so detailed and intricate. I also really like the sky blue/teal outfit he wears and the silver/navy one he wore to the court meeting omg.
I swear, after the drama ends, I'm going to compile screencaps of all of his outfits and write a whole post about it lol. Also, he totally has the height/build/face to pull off the outfits, it looks so good on him because of his long/slender neck, tall and slim yet toned build, broad shoulders, and narrow waist - also the hair!!! Rin and his long gorgeous locks!! Okay I should probably stop ogling HJH now but I can't help it.
I highly doubt it since it wouldn't be consistent with his character thus far (especially since the drama keeps on emphasizing his loyalty). I'm almost positive he's working with the King to 'save' Won (they're only acting like they're going along with the plan in front of Song In/Buyong). I'm pretty sure the King has realized he's been drugged (when Rin told Buyong to leave him and the King alone in the room, they were probably already formulating a plan).
That kiss did him no justice lol! He's actually decent though, in some of his other projects. Hopefully we'll get a real kiss later *keeping my fingers crossed*
This drama has my heart at the moment. I usually dont like dramas with slow development, but it was already given…
I completely agree with your comment! It's actually the only one I'm watching at the moment because I'm so invested in the drama. Although I can understand why the ambiguity of the characters' behaviours/emotions may frustrate some viewers, I have to admit it's keeping me on the edge of my seat. Like you said, I find it really interesting to analyze the subtle changes in their behaviour and understand the motivations behind each character. I think it's definitely a drama that you can only wholeheartedly enjoy without knowing the ending (avoiding spoilers). It really keeps you guessing. Also, I'm so in love with the ways the characters are written and I find the dialogue beautifully written.
I was going to kill your 2nd brother.. I was going to do it for rin. Thats how i was going to end it.. For Rin..…
Yeah, after watching the end of ep 26 I was really confused at San's look of betrayal because I was like... wait, doesn't she know already? Rin tried to tell her many times in the same episode that Jeon was involved. But I think it's because she didn't know to which extent Jeon was involved and after she witnessed the interrogation, at that moment, she believed that Jeon was the mastermind behind the massacre.
Goodness, I felt like it was so apparent in ep 27-28 how much she loves Rin - like the amount she was willing to sacrifice for him. At first, I was so upset that she was yelling at Won to "save his friend" and that she'd do what she had to do, even if that meant taking down Rin's entire family. But you could tell how conflicted she was, and all those flashbacks of the times that Rin saved her (She is my woman! /faints bc I love this scene) just kept on playing in her mind. And oh god, that scene when he just gave her a nod and a soft smile, encouraging her to tell the truth - her eyes were all filled with tears because she realized how much he loved her. It must have been so hard for her to lie about Jeon (that useless piece of asdfj!@$%) saving her (and let go of the revenge she has been pursuing for 8 years), but when the realization dawned on Rin that San lied to save him, his expression - omg my heart, be still. He looked shocked and confused and I don't even know how to describe HJH's expression 'cause he just nailed all the emotions perfectly, I can't describe it in words.
Yoona has improved so much, I'm really proud of her. In one of her interviews, she mentioned that she asked the director how to clearly express San's complicated emotions in a way that people wouldn't misunderstand her as loving both men in the same way (romantically). I think she's done a phenomenal job at expressing her love for Rin and Won in different ways. Honestly, Yoona plays San so naturally, it's as if the character was especially made for her. As the two of you mentioned, I love how San is such a strong character (despite being impulsive at times) but also knows when to rely on someone (the hug scene with Rin asdfas).
I can't get myself to truly like Won. He's acting innocent and lovely but in fact he's quite two-faced.…
I agree with you that Won's character is extremely layered and interesting and they should focus on how his 'love' for both San and Rin propels him to take extreme actions. Regarding Won's character development, I think they always showed us viewers that he had underlying dark/selfish tendencies (which is expected, especially with his upbringing). Also, being groomed as a crown prince since young, he is selfish and likes to "claim" people/things [i.e. My Rin. He wouldn't dare to fall in love with San because he knows she's mine, etc.]
One of the things I'm anticipating the most as a viewer is seeing how he won't be able to get the one who he loves and how that changes him. Also, I don't really understand the complaints about the possibility of Wonsan not being end game because he never ended up with San in the novel (but even the source material aside), it's about how the king "loves", nothing in the title insinuates that it's mutual or that he ends up with her. It's just that the story is mainly told through his perspective, which is why we've been getting his monologues (which I absolutely love).
Even at this point, I'm not ruling out the possibility that San will fall for Won, but in my perspective, it would fit the narrative of the story better if the one that San loves is Rin, and Won feels the "betrayal" and acts upon his emotions. Just like his earlier monologue from the Chaeryeon festival, I don't remember the exact words but something along the lines of "Now that I look back, that's when it all started, when my best friend began to betray me, and when an impassable river started to flow between my woman and I."
I still feel that San should end up with the crown prince, since they're both on the main lead role. :-)
I respect your opinion but I'd say that WonSanRin are all equally important to the story and the three of them are the leads. I don't think that Won & San are any more of a "main lead" than Rin - contrary to how it's been promoted on the posters.
That last scene at the investigation bureau though... all I have to say is - HONG JONG HYUN AND YOONA, oh my goodness, their chemistry is just on fire!!! It was so heartbreaking watching Rin's tears as he realized that San was there, when he tried to fend off the guards so he could reach her, the devastation yet simultaneous worry in her eyes, the way you could hear his breath hitch. God, everything about that scene was just executed perfectly (the bgm during that scene too, full on blasting Stay by Jung Joon-young). I swear I'm losing sleep because of these two and don't know how to cope with all these feelings!!
Okay this is the first drama where if she don't end up with the second lead I might die seriously... I really…
I think it can go two ways, one being that today's episode might be the end of Rinsan and from here until the end of the drama, they'll focus on developing Wonsan. I'd hate for the drama to take the route where San will rely on and fall for Won because she feels heartbroken that Rin's brother was the mastermind behind the plan, thinking that Rin 'deceived' her when he was trying to tell her through the whole episode (but wasn't able to because of Won's plans).
The other direction that the plot may take is to exile Rin to Yuan as punishment and then during that time she would realize the one she truly loves and can't let go of is Rin (further fueling Won's jealousy because even if San is by his side and in his 'cage', he can't get her heart.) Hoping they take this direction, not only because I'm a Rinsan shipper, but because it'd be more interesting to see Won go full out anti-hero and then hopefully they'll resolve it in a way that is satisfying for the trio in the end.
Scroll down, it's the 2nd comment in Disqus by "Lauren ♡" under the read more tag. Also, the song that you're looking for is "Hazy Hidden Time" by SE O (I think), it's going to be released tomorrow (August 29th). Really excited for this one bc it always plays during the romantic/magical moments!
P.S. I LOVE RINSAN TOO ♡ Let's hope our OTP is end game!!
The bridge scene in yesterday's episode though... my Rinsan feels are on fire!!! After watching ep 21/22, I think it's pretty clear that San has romantic feelings towards Rin. Won is starting to set his 'bird cage' talk in action since he notices that it's more difficult for Rinsan to conceal their feelings now. I absolutely love how Rin is starting to talk back to Won, especially when he was like, "What if she is unhappy in your cage?" and then Won replies "Why do you say that she may be unhappy? Beside me?" I could just feel the tension in the room omg.
During the ending, San totally could have just made a run for it towards Won's quarters instead of facing all of Song In's guards by herself. I'm guessing she didn't want to bring trouble to them, but Won's eunuch also ran back in time. I can't believe they fell for Song In's bait (especially when he had the carriage window open).
PREVIEW LOOKS SO GOOD, RIN IS HUGGING SAN ALSDJALSD. Won finally stepping forward and showing his "true colours" and how powerful he is to the King, finally, I'm so sick of the useless King who just complains all the time. YOU GO, WON.
Siwan is the main lead in this drama, but at this point, we're not sure who will end up with Yoona (as in, it's not certain that the main lead will end up with the female lead).
I just finished watching Queen for seven days AND i need a drama to watch cause that drama literally left such…
I'd say you should definitely give it a try! I just started it last week and I'm hooked, got all caught up with the 20 episodes that are currently out today. I'm not really sure why it's not getting as much attention as it deserves, practically everything is executed perfectly.
I love how complex all of the characters are, the relationships that they have with one another, the cinematography is absolutely breathtaking, and there are so many scenes that I have to rewatch (already). Also, the chemistry between the three leads is just amazing. I ship Rinsan and ugh, they are already becoming one of my favourite pairings ever. At the same time, the bromance between Won and Rin is just beautiful.
Another thing I really like about this drama is how unpredictable it is, and for that reason I think it's worth a try. Honestly, it leaves me with awake at night with so many questions.
I'm currently watching Queen for Seven Days as well and I love both, although if I had to choose which one I like better, I think I would even choose TKIL (for now - even if we're only halfway through). But really, both are absolutely heart-wrenching. Although I just finished ep 20 like a couple hours ago, the wait for tomorrow's episode feels too long.
So yes, even if you read articles about the bad reviews, I would suggest you give it a try yourself and see how you like it. :-)
