Just a few predictions from the past week's episodes. So excited for tomorrow btw (although subs take longer for this drama ;__;)
1) I'm pretty sure Jihoon is adopted (which is why Kyung-moon always tends to him and treats him with kindness). Kyungmoon also emphasizes and says things like "You really take after me" etc. because he doesn't know that Jihoon knows of this fact (possibly because of selective memory loss of a traumatic incident that he experienced in his childhood - the flashback he had were his real parents fighting.) When Kyungmoon was questioning Sowoo "Does Jihoon know?" I think he was talking about Jihoon's past. "Does Jihoon remember his past?" This would explain why Sowoo was talking about how you can't erase a human's memories. Not sure how Sowoo found out, but since he always used to hang out at Jihoon's house, he could have come across some documentation that showed that Kyungmoon wasn't his real dad or he could have found out during their time at the psychiatric ward together. Kyung-moon could have adopted him because he took on the case of his real parents. If this follows the Japanese version, it makes sense (regarding what happened to his real parents).
2) When I was discussing with other MDLers, it was brought up that Joori's testimony is likely still flawed. Also, the place where the sound was made on the railing was not directly above the place where Sowoo fell, which is an important point to consider (because if what was written in her letter of accusation was the truth, he would have fell from that specific spot).
3) I don't think Choi Woohyuk was lying about seeing that suspicious person in his room that night. It has a likely connection to the professional arsonist case. However, the reason why he's not telling the truth in front of everyone and is clearly still concealing something is because there is a high probability that he did meet with Sowoo that night (although I still doubt he pushed him off the rooftop of the school and I don't think he's the perpetrator).
4) I feel like Soyeon's dad knows something about the foundation and is trying to cover something up. I can't recall what he said exactly, but I think he mentioned to Detective Oh that he was working on the arson (?) or another case even though it wasn't in his jurisdiction.
I feel like I have more theories but I can't think of anything else right now!! But these are more thoughts after watching ep 5+6! Can't wait for this week's episodes.
Episode 5 Based on So Woo's brother's words, I'm starting to see So Woo as someone who would commit…
That definitely makes sense, I overlooked the possibility that she may have went to the rooftop before and stepped on the railing after she considered suicide. As for including it in her letter of accusation, do we as viewers know the entire content of the letter yet? I can't remember whether she included other important details apart from the railing (but Soyeon seemed to place specific importance on the detail about the sound that was made). I feel like I might have wrote it if I witnessed the murder in my recollection of the incident but it really depends how 'loud' the sound was, although now that you point it out, I think most people wouldn't. Interesting, I didn't even realize that. So he didn't fall directly from that spot where the sound was made?
I'm wondering whether the kdrama version will bring back Chorong since they specifically mentioned and showed that she was in a coma. In the original Japanese films, I'm pretty sure Chorong's char. passed away after the car accident... so that makes me wonder if they plan on bringing her character back in the future for an important reveal or something of the like ;;
Episode 5 Based on So Woo's brother's words, I'm starting to see So Woo as someone who would commit…
After watching ep 5 and 6, it's clear that Sowoo was definitely a much complex person than he let on. His brother revealed that the reason why he thought Sowoo didn't commit suicide was because he was more likely to be the 'murderer' than the 'victim'. He liked provoking others. But the reason why I think it's not just a simple 'suicide' in this case is because of what was revealed in ep6. I'm not sure if you watched it yet, but I think it's clear that there is some truth to Joori's testimony. I still don't think Choi Woohyuk is the perpetrator though. Rather, Sowoo's death definitely has to do with the foundation of Jeongguk High and the higher-ups in my opinion.
I dropped this after watching the first episode.... is that normal? I mean, I skipped a lot because it was boring.....…
No problem, let me know how it goes! :) Don't worry if you don't like it though, it might just not be your cup of tea but yes, try a few more episodes first before deciding haha.
https://www.soompi.com/2017/01/04/lee-dong-wook-almost-didnt-make-grim-reaper-tvns-goblin/ Lee Dong Wook is the…
He's the epitome of the Grim Reaper. I don't know why KES initially rejected him but I'm so glad he didn't give up. Can't imagine anyone else playing Reaper (bonus points - his chemistry with Gong Yoo is amazing, if they didn't cast him, Goblin probably wouldn't be half as good since the bromance is one of the best things about the drama).
I dropped this after watching the first episode.... is that normal? I mean, I skipped a lot because it was boring.....…
Haha yes it's normal. I think I've read a few comments where some people didn't like the first episode, but trust me, it gets better and you'll be hooked. I don't think it has to do with your age but maybe your preference of genre? Do you like watching thriller/mystery or do you prefer rom/com? 'Cause even people who don't typically enjoy watching thriller/mystery enjoyed Signal! I'd say it's definitely worth another try. Watch a few more episodes and see if you like it. :-) In my opinion, it's really hard to stop watching since the cases are somewhat interconnected and it completely piques your curiosity.
I was just browsing the Soompi forum and I think there's a major spoiler on the first page lol. I think it's the article regarding Jo Jaehyeon's casting (a spoiler to do with his character). If the spoiler that was unintentionally revealed is correct, I think the "huge secret" that Han Jihoon's character has may be similar to the Japanese version. I only watched Part 1 of the film though so I only know the secret that his equivalent in the Japanese version revealed in the first part of the film. But if it's the same "secret", it's probably the reason why he went to the psychiatric ward. Trying to refrain from giving too many spoilers here lol.
I just started this a couple days ago and I'm really liking it so far. I actually find it more fast-paced than part 1 of the Japanese adaptation 'cause I watched that a couple months ago and although some parts were interesting I found it a little slow? I didn't end up watching part 2 yet but I'm thinking of holding it off until I finish this drama since there are probably spoilers about the case (unless the kdrama version makes the ending completely different).
Anyhow, I really like Bae Joonyeong!! Ko Soyeon is also a really strong and relatable protagonist and I admire her determination. Really curious as to what Han Jihoon is hiding, his character seems a lot darker (?) here than the Japanese version, but that's what makes it even more intriguing (the mystery behind his character).
Goblin ♡ Reaper. *adds a drawing of lips and chu~* (like Lee Dongwook did in the bts). Honestly though, these two and their fail video-chatting moments, fighting with forks and knives, reading each other's minds, their competitiveness askdfjasd. These oldies are so childish and adorable when they're together, I love them so much. Can't wait to see more bromance unfold as the drama progresses!
I would also add Lee Jaehan + Park Haeyoung!!! A bromance that transcends time, my favourite walkie-talkie bros.
I can't wait to watch this. It's opening on January 6th in my city. Can't wait to see Kang Dongwon (my fave) play a super hot and intellectual investigator!!! Also, Woobin as a hacker is a bonus. Although Lee Byunghun's private life is messy, he's a great actor. Hope the film exceeds my expectations!
Time Skip??!!! It says here that the current episodes are set in year 2008. And in the upcoming episodes a time-skip…
I was confused about the timeline at first too, since I saw a 1998 calendar in the room during the scene where Euntak celebrated her birthday with her mom's soul. But I think they showed that for a reason, hoping we get some explanation on that later.
I'm pretty sure they're in 2016 right now, because there was also the P101 references + IKON (which weren't around in 2008).
The bickering between Goblin and Reaper is everything to me omg. THEY'RE SO CUTE TOGETHER I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THEM. Also, omg... Sunny and Reaper have finally met! I love their dynamic so far, it's hilarious how she was like "Are you crying?! Do you want the ring that much?" LOL. But seriously, that entire scene was so mysterious and magical to me.
THE ENDING OF EP 3 THOUGH. What a cliffhanger! I wonder if Euntak can actually see the sword though? :O Wonder why she didn't mention it earlier? Or if she just found out after doing research about goblins at the bookstore? This is seriously so interesting. I have so many questions asdfjasldf.
I noticed that Subway is one of the sponsors in the closing credits lol. Let's all come up with ideas of…
@KdramaNess Haha. Glad it made your day! I think we can all agree that Subway PPL in kdramas is next level.
@Major Lol @ Subway having to leave SK if they pull another K2. I'm hoping Goblin doesn't bring her to Subway and have Euntak pick out the toppings like Moyeon did in DOTS. Those dreaded Subway dates... Kim Shin has such sophisticated taste, dining steak on his Louis XIV antique plates, would he really settle for Subway? Hahaha.
I just came back from watching this at the theatres (I'm so glad they played it where I live 'cause this is such a special film!!). I've been anticipating this film since it was announced as the premise totally caught my eye (+ I know I can always trust KDW). This isn't just any other fantasy film, it's different because it actually felt realistic despite the 'fantasy' elements (the egg, the cave, the 'vanishing time').
The writer also made sure to include how the 'average person' would view the situation (including mentions of stockholm syndrome and other psychological analysis etc.), but as a viewer, you can't help but trust Sungmin's story and just wonder "Why aren't the adults believing in Sungmin and Soorin?"
The cinematography was gorgeous and the CGI when all the time stopped was done phenomenally well. Acting-wise, I was blown away by Kang Dongwon's performance of Sungmin, I totally believed that he was a 13 year old child (he did not go overboard with his acting or come off as crazy, it was simply a perfect portrayal). Shin Eunsoo was also stellar! I can't believe this is her first role, she is naturally talented and so good at expressing all these different emotions of confusion, hurt, trust, and much more. I cannot wait for her to take on more roles and develop as an actress.
Overall, this is an excellent film that is definitely worth watching. I'm a little sad it's not doing well at the box office, because it's a gem and different from any other film I've ever watched. The ending is so sad (in my opinion), but I think they chose to go this route for a bigger impact. I still have a question about the ending though (a loophole? or something that I need clarification on). Anyhow, definitely catch it if it's playing in theatres near you, but if not, make sure to watch it when it comes out online. 10/10 for me.
THE ENDING OF EP 2 WAS SO EPIC!! Freaking grateful for the eye candy that is Gong Yoo & Lee Dong Wook /drools…
Literally counting the days 'til Friday. At least I have my Wed/Thurs dramas but still, Goblin is too good. I love the OST!!! Stay With Me is amazing and really gives off those otherworldly fantasy vibes, I can't wait 'til the other songs are released!
I noticed that Subway is one of the sponsors in the closing credits lol. Let's all come up with ideas of how they're going to incorporate their infamous PPL into Goblin. It can't be worse than The K2 right? *shivers*
I can just imagine Reaper giving the wandering souls Subway sandwiches instead of tea. Or something along the lines of this: "Do you want this sandwich to go along with your tea? I source my sandwiches from Subway, by the way." LOL.

And the turtleneck paired with long wool jacket combo. Completely drool-worthy. Gongblin is sooooo hot.
