the plot of this show is not about the usual/cliche possession and this is also not about exorcism, the ghost here is not something that can be defeated by mere exorcism, there is a mystery to be solved and the right method/process to execute in order to defeat the ghost
also, most of the usual exorcism of the possessed plot is done through the lense of christianity, but the show did it through shamanism (i am not sure about the appropriate/correct term)
this is more folklore/shamanism mystery horror rather than exorcism of the possessed
traditional and cliche horror tropes are not always the standard logic especially in a work of fiction, logic is also understanding the nature of a specific thing and not always generalizing the similarity of things as being completely identical

i think the goal of this production isn't really mainly on showing innovative/shocking plot, but mostly showcasing the chemistry of the leads and selling well to the audience, especially that they casted 2 of the most popular artists in the industry
