It kind of saddened me to know YWY didn't really had the chance to be happy romantically. I obsessed over entries about him on the net and tried to find more about his romantic life, but :\ tough luck. He really did marry for politics but proved to be a wise ruler during his reign as emperor. My only satisfaction was that, in real history, the Gaos (particularly Gao Wei) were punished when Zhou successfully conquered Qi.

sorry I had to butt in. In addition to yankumicho has already said, it's been 20 years since then and she is still talks that way. I don't know if you guys are married but hearing her talk that way for such a long time has put him beyond getting used to and into 'getting sick of it'. I liked Luhan, Tao and Chen much later. I thought Lulu was too effeminate for my taste because he looks girlish and had a frail frame. Ah but then in the Wolf drama version, he actually had biceps to show! Wah, this boy! <3 I liked him more in the Growl mv--he's so full of charisma.

Tao is really cool when he does his martial arts. When I saw him cry I wanted to say 'come to jie jie'. XD Chen has a powerful voice. He and Baekhyun battled in a pitch contest and Chen won--I couldn't believe it!

I don't ship Kaisoo! I want Kyung Soo for my daughter! He's my son-in-law! Bahahahaha! XD XD Aw gawd, I really like Baekhyunnie at first but my daughter said she liked him the best and I should go find another bias. LOL They just debuted back then and I liked What is Love from their first album, so I chose D.O because of how he sings! Plus the fact that he's such a cutie! Well, they all are! XD

Are you serious? Do you know how I'm pulling my hair waiting for Episode 12 of Reply '94? If we're to start to Empress Ki now (and it's like they've only aired 10 eps), I wouldn't have any hair left to pull by the time they air the 20th episode! XD XD XD

You know I totally lost it with Reply 94. I wasn't counting on being addicted to it at all. I thought 'heh, they wouldn't surpass R97, it's going to be a disaster' but darn! I devoured the whole thing in two nights and now I regret not having to pull back because now I want to marathon it all over again. Cao Cao doesn't stand a chance against eye candy. LOL! I'd love it if you watch this but I must say wait 'til it's near the end before you start--all this waiting is killing me!

Comments say Gong/Palace Lock Heart Jade is more comedic while BBJX is more dramatic. And they tend to compare how the actors were 'better fleshed out' in BBJX than Gong. I can't say for certain because I haven't seen Gong myself. (Be sure to tell me if you want to so we can watch together!)

But both dramas work on the premise that a 21st century girl time travels to the past in Emperor Kangxi's era and becomes involved in the princes' motives to take the throne. Romance is evident in both. Makes you wonder if there were plagiarism issues between the two because Gong was aired early 2011 and BBJX in September of the same year--in the same broadcast network, Hunan TV!

Ahahaha! That would certainly catch their attention! Honestly, that happens~~beautiful songs from a boring drama and there are mediocre songs from awesome dramas. :D
