from his prespective he has no idea why she is pushing him away. < you had me locked for most, but then this...…
The ML does realize that the FL is pushing him away because of the forced marriage but there is more going on with her than just that one reason.
I think that the commenter is well aware that the ML understands what is happening because of his actions. They aren't apologizing for him based on his not knowing everything. Your comment seemed to be saying that the commenter was apologizing for the ML when he shouldn't be.
I just thought that you were misreading the comment. I wasn't saying anything about you not being able to separate yourself from the character or thinking that the character should feel the way that you do.
I regret commenting on both of your comments. It was up to @Nournou to defend themselves without me butting in.
So, the posts written by @Shenlibeauty are the most blatant anti-fan effort I've ever seen on MDL although I know there are other quiet campaigns going on all the time. If anyone can help me to understand why people do this kind of thing ...
It's the belief in zero-sum-games right? You can't win without me losing so you can't win? We can't both win? Plus a hefty dose of immaturity and pettiness?
The Story of MingLan was on my next-watch list but now I'm not so excited to see it.
the satisfaction I get from this post, guys, look how even haters are here to admire the success!I was both happy…
I don't have to do that here. None of us do. We just want to enjoy this new work and have you take your sour grapes elsewhere. They don't belong here so please take your 'evidence' and your smear campaign somewhere else. It's childish and unnecessary and if you keep it up I will just block you and hope that everyone else here does the same. You don't deserve the opportunity to ruin other people's enjoyment or an actresses reputation just because you are jealous of her success on behalf of someone who probably doesn't feel the same way. Please go now while we're still being nice.

@Nournou isn't saying that ML didn't do anything wrong. They are just pointing out, rightly, that the ML doesn't understand a lot of what the FL is going through and so he, who would want to help her, can't help her. I think they are stressing something that you didn't quite hear because you want to repeat your opinion that the ML doesn't deserve the FL's forgiveness and love. You're fine to feel that way but perhaps others would just like to give him a chance to turn himself around, understand her better and win her over in the end.

It's fine that you are a fan of another drama that has done well, is much loved and has similarities to this one but why would you try to sling mud at someone else's success because of it? You can celebrate one thing and still allow another thing to succeed. I'm sure that the people who created The Story of Minglan don't feel aggrieved. I doubt that Zhao Liying feels tarnished or less of a success than she did before. I'm sure that she wouldn't pick on another hard working actress. She and her drama rose to great heights. So why do this kind of thing at all? It just makes you and your choices look cheap and petty.
'Preaching bad, romance good'? There's no preaching here. Just a version of reality as opposed to the kind of fantasy that you're looking for. So, haha. Take it somewhere else to avoid the 'slog' dude ...
In episode 32 what is the play actualy talking about? The tale of the Feathered immortal?
It's the universal story of women. The major events in a woman's life are dangerous experiences that require her to endure a great amount of pain in order to rise above and survive. There's arranged marriage to a stranger, life threatening childbirth, financial problems and husband problems (like violence or infidelity).
She is able to survive because she can fly but it's a very painful process and, if she decides not to do it anymore, she will be treated as a monster who must then fly away and never be able to return as herself without facing a hunter who will capture or shoot her.
It's presented like a fantastical, proverbial cautionary tale for women who have no choice but to experience it. There's only a small amount of freedom in a woman's life but there are too many trying events that will eventually overwhelm her ability to take flight and survive as herself.
At least that's my take. Other people will have their own.
haha. omg not the hormones !!! hormones are incredibly dangerous things that get us into no end of trouble during our lives. So I will try again while battling hormones and carrying a huge grain of salt. ... :-)
I agree. But I'm not able to remember a time when he pulled back from his end of a deal when it didn't benefit…
Hmmm this is interesting. And it hadn't really sunk into me.
Grandfather and the Young Master have seemed to be close and quite respectful/supportive until recently. But I guess that's not entirely the case if grandson didn't honour the deal that grandfather had made ... when he ran off to join the army.
So was that a message to grandfather that he didn't approve of his actions and didn't want anything to do with the decisions made? There's a monologue where he says he ran away to be out from under Zhao's thumb but it was, essentially, grandfather who put him there.
Which means that he's been rebelling or at least making his opinions known since grandpa got into bed with the Zhao family.
Woah. All of a sudden it's clear that there's been friction for a long time and now the young master is in charge now; not in all ways but in a number of ways.
And I guess he really didn't understand that she needed to separate from her own family too? Which is why she seems to be holding a major grudge even now.
Well well. Thank you for this ... you've opened up a whole new avenue of understanding for me. Lots of subtleties that had flown completely over my head.
She gave ZXT an idea that she knew she'd want, in lieu of money that she didn't have ... to save the friend who had saved her ... as she had promised. That's not saving ZXT. That's saving Ji'er. And why use language like saviour complex? Trying to help some people when you can doesn't mean you have a saviour complex. A saviour complex is when you have a compulsion to save people because you think it's your responsibility to do so. Which is not what we're looking at here.
It's priceless to see the pure shock on JQ's face learning about her play... 😂😂 Oh boy, you got what you…
Yes it was a shock but he wasn't upset that she was doing it. He didn't argue, chase after her or object in any way. He just wanted to know how it was doing, if it was successful, who saw it and what it was about. Those questions don't come from someone who is displeased. He's impressed at what she's done. I'd say that he's pleased at what he got.
Why are so many people out here acting like it has been years since they married and they are still having misunderstanding?…
Best guess. Not days. By the end of ep 32 it's about 4-5 months. They've been in the capital for 3-4 months by the time she rescues Ji'er and is able to make back the money she gave
I have to say, I love all these small glimpses of JQ, the viewers gradually get to know and understand his character.…
if this is an example of your half asleep word vomit ... please don't sleep too much or get too quiet. ... LoL. Bad joke but I know that you'll get it. ;-)
