Great series about the evolution of entrepeneurship in China and the struggles of business owners to deal with the political and legal changes that sometimes pulled the rug from beneath them. Of course, they weren't fully innocent and also had their bad biddings. The writers researched the topic well. They also added some sprinkles of political propaganda, probably to pass the censorship.
Production, acting and direction are great and made a nice series to watch. I'll probably watch it again.

Clear propaganda. However, it's very well produced and entertaining and give some glimpses of the Chinese life like in a reality show. The first story about producing the ballet is very nice.

Good news. The first two seasons were very good. I hope they keep the high standards in acting, direction and production for the third one.

Found it on YouTube but only has 41 episodes. Subscene also only has 41 subcaptions and lists the 41st as the last one.
Any difference from the 48 listed by MDL?

Just finished this series. Watched the three 1-hour-long option on MGTV.
It's an awesome and very funny Mr & Mrs. Smith's adaptation in ancient China.
Acting, direction and overall production were great. It's a series that deserves more seasons. I'll very likely watch it again a few more times.

I found it on MGTV but it's very confusing. There are three episodes with more than one hour and 12 with approx. 15 minutes. Is the series all of them?

Cool story, which seems like a Face Off movie's spin off. Fast paced, as it only had eight episodes to tell the story. Acting and direction so so. OST wasn't bad and some of the music good. An enjoyable drama if we put everything together.

So, was it censorship that obliterated this series? They would better make it shorter, since many things did not male sense and only made the series painfully long. The OST was terrible. I have to listen to something that bad.

This series could have been 10 episodes shorter. Acting, direction and story left to be desired. OST was terrible. The melodies and singers were barely tolerable and sometimes I fast forwarded just to not have to listen to those lamentations. To make things worse, the end did not make any sense.

Thanks for the explanation! It's interesting that the government gets bothered by that, since everyone know that it's fantasy and just a fiction that used some real people as base.
In other countries this happens all the time, of course with the big disclaimers about it. Here in the US Hollywood does a lot worse and no one cares. :-)

Nice series. The production, story, acting and OST are great. I really enjoyed watching it and will likely watch again in the future. I was fun watching the characters discussing the "cheese" and "strawberry" worlds.
Furthermore, was interesting to get a review of some of the math I learned in college. I just wish it was so easy as they portrayed in the series. :-)

I heard about sci-fi type series being censored. Why are the Chinese censoring time travel, parallel universe, and similar themes? I cannot imagine what would be the reason. Anyone knows?

Also, I just watched The Heart of Genius and it has both time travel and parallel universe and was released in 2022. Very nice series, by the way. Reset is also great. I enjoyed both quite a bit and hope that there are more like it.

Nice series with a light and warm story. Good acting and chemistry between actors, direction and overall production. OST is also nice. It's the kind of drama that we can watch again and still enjoy.
