Cool series that reminds of "The Edge of Tomorrow" with Tom Cruise. Several twists that make the plot interesting until the end. Good actors, story and production. I recommend it for the audience who likes sci-fi/time travel.
The acting and the food preparation scenes were what kept my going on this one. The story in general was too much "sugarcoated" (pun intended) and the final was super rushed, as if the production stepped in and told everyone "time to wrap this up!". Could have been better paced with less dragging scenes and less rushed ones. The photography of the food cooking was mouthwatering. :-)
Just finished this one. Great story, acting, direction and production. I am not thrilled by western zombie movies but, for some reason, the Korean ones make me enjoy them. Many young actors with promising careers in this series. Kudos!
I'm not into crime and detectives movies and series, but this one kept my attention from beginning to end. Excellent story, production, direction and acting. Reminded me of the best Agatha Cristie stories and movies.
I have watched s1 and s2 on the WETV app subtitled.
Thanks! That makes it look better. When you mentioned app I thought about phones. Does WeTV allow to download the videos in high resolution like Netflix and YouTube? I checked Viki but they only allow to download through the cellphone app.

@bonnie Apps don't work for me because I want to watch the series on a TV's large screen, not a phone's little screen. Many productions pay attention to details that go missing on little screens.
Also, I normally download the series so I can watch anytime, regardless of Internet or the streaming company suddenly pulling it out.
Someone explained to me that Tencent had to downsize because they lost a lot of money due to the CCP coming after…
I heard something similar about the CCP cracking on all companies and even taking shares of them. So, added that they have been also ramping up the censorship and persecuting actors, directors and producers who did not align, it seems that it will be a dark period for the Chinese movie industry.
It's a shame, since they have been shoulder to shoulder, even better in some cases, when compared to the best western counterparts. I hope Tencent makes it. They have been a great producer.
I agree with you. Actually, I have visited this drama page long before ..... it was suppose to be a 1 season drama…
If this is their way to get more profits, it backfired with me. I just canceled my membership there because of this and several other mishaps they have been doing. e.g. canceling series in the middle, advertising series and never releasing them, and now this mess with this series that they released without subtitles, then released season 2 also without subtitles, then suddenly added to some episodes and stopped again. Now released season 3 also without subtitles.
Tencent used to be a lot better. What's happening there? New money-greedy management?
What's happening with Tencent on YouTube? It seems that they are completely lost. Season 1 was released without English subtitles. Then suddenly came season 2, where only some were subtitled (weirdly starting from ep. 10, then stopped). Now they released a season 3 also without subtitles.
Add that they advertised several series and never released them. And they stopped others in the middle. What's going on there?
Great series! Almost at the same level as Joy of Life. Really very close. Looking forward to season 2 of both.
Director and actors were very well integrated and did an awesome job. The screenwriter also balanced drama, humour, fight scenes and romance quite well.
@Anemone, In my case it depends a lot on the plot, production, direction and actors. Some series seem to fly by and feel that ended too fast. Examples: Joy of Life, Ever Night, Nirvana in Fire. I mean that the overall production needs to be right. Some series are supposed to be short, others really deserve more seasons. The problem is when the production puts money over everything else and it ends up not meeting expectations. Makes sense?
Don't get me wrong. It's still a good series. However, having seen Yang Mi, and some of the other actors in other productions, it could have been a lot better.
It was a good series, but maybe my expectations were too high because of Yang Mi. It seemed to drag in some parts and too rushed in others. Nevertheless, it was a very good production that could have used a better director. I've watched Yang Mi in other productions such as Legend of Fuyao and 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms and she was way better there.
Good question… Could the editing have cut some length away? I’m not too keen on the low ratings but I will…
I found a version on youtube but also only has 42 episodes. Are there two versions going around? If so, it would be interesting to know what's the difference between them.
This is one of the best, if not the best, series I watched so far, and I have watched dozens. It mixes drama, humour, and even a hint of sci-fi just right. The actors, production and direction are also great. Watched a couple times already.
I just hoope that they can keep the pace for the upcoming seasons.
