1 - i mean the racism is racism, there's not much to say there. he's a supporting character so thankfully he's not in it as much, but he still exists as a character entirely based on racial stereotypes that are supposed to be comical which is a problem.
2 - the show received a warning? (i think) to reduce the amount of innuendos because people complained it was inappropriate for a family channel. what most people on social media had a problem with was the scene in the prologue where saet byul as a high school student (19) plants a kiss on dae hyun who was 26. imo people who didn't watch the drama and took the scene out of context made it appear worse than it was, i feel like it was done more to show what kind of person saet byul was in the past rather than a romantic moment. it's understandable why people would have a problem with it, tho i'd say it's more sexual harassment by kissing someone without their consent than romanticizing relationships with minors like some were claiming. (esp. because they don't see or speak to each other again for 3 years)
3 - regarding the age difference, i think the staff knew this was a problem too, so they lessened the age difference of the characters to 22 and 29. i don't remember how old the characters actually were in the og webtoon, but i do know that saet byul was like 16 when the kiss happened, and in the present day story dae hyun is in his 30s.

again, i'm stunned by how incredible this drama is. actually made me cry wtf how dare they come for my emotions like that.

i really hope daehyun and yeon joo break up in tomorrow's episode, what's the point in watching a romance in which the guy is in a relationship with and has romantic feelings for a different woman for over half of the show..

big mood, i started watching the show because my mom recommended it and when she first told me the plot i stood there like "whaaaaaat?"

Thanks! My hope is that (if this were to happen) the historical aspect would make it just different enough from the original setting that it would be refreshing and allow people who have read/watched the original to view it almost as if it was the first time.

thanks~ lol my personal theory is that i'll be able to excuse more of the changes than i would a normal adaptation because this would be a whole different time period and culture and therefore it wouldn't bother me as much? hopefully? (she says as if this will actually happen lmao)

the poor woman was thrust back 200 years back and doesn't know if she'll ever make it back lol. the show does do a good job of showing the conflict in her heart tho about the whole "frank isn't technically dead he just hasn't been born yet" thing

yeah the chances of them adapting outlander is small, but it's fun to imagine :)

i personally think the hanbok is beautiful and the costumes could potentially be amazing if they had a high enough budget. also i feel like china specifically excels in wuxia/high fantasy dramas and outlander leans more into historical fiction (when they're not time travelling lol)

but also i could totally see them adapting outlander. i'm not very familiar with chinese history, but they could set it during an invasion of the huns or the mongols or something.

i didn't go into john grey or fergus in the article because i imagined the korean adaptation stopping before their characters appear as adults, but yeah i could totally see some of those you listed. realistically speaking based on other dramas there would be an idol in the cast somewhere xD

I've had it on my list for ages because I'm a huge fan of Park Min Young as well, but I've always gone back and forth on whether to watch it because of Yoochun :/ I might just suck it up and watch it one day because the rest of the cast is so likable.
