I didn't expect Tin to visit Tol's parents and have dinner with them wearing his scrubs xD
Nothing screams 'I'm into your son' more than flaunting the mysterious, unidentified bodily fluids on your clothing, I suppose.

LOL. Great anecdote! Reminds me of the emotional trauma I had to work through after realizing all the teenage supermarket employees had started addressing me with the formal version of 'you'. But then I still get carded each time I want to enter a club or buy a bottle of wine (whilst the legal drinking age is 18 over here). Guess I got worst of both worlds lol.

I just checked the synopsis of Country Boy and it does seem like a nice and wholesome watch (are the subs that bad that you need to absolve yourself from having a hand in it? 😜). I'll definitely give it a try! I always enjoy reading your commentary so I trust your judgement on this, ha.

The scene you described sounds absolutely adorable and, yet, I am secretly still very glad that English doesn't have the same set of honorifics. I'm personally not a massive fan of social hierarchy and that kind of language would be a bit too limiting for me. Also, of course, it's much less anxiety inducing if you can just call everyone by their first name. No need to think.

LOL. That's stare is called 'the-director-told-me-to-look-dead-because-otherwise-I'll-spoil-the-entire-plot'. Love that look, a true classic.

So interesting that you like the third-person address! In my native language there is no such thing (unless, occasionally, you may use it when talking to children) so I really had to get used to it. It definitely sounds adorable when Tin is telling his patients that 'doctor' will be with them soon lol. I also personally love (and hate-- complex relationship, really) the different Thai ending particles! Those sound so nice and polite to me.

You're subbing Thai shows, tho? How cool! Would you recommend watching Country Boy?

The preview doesn't help much, lol. From what I understand, Tol bemoans trusting people too quickly (but it is unclear whom he is talking about since that comment is edited in as a voice-over). We see him staring at Tin and the new girl, as well as Mai and Heart, so he may have been talking about either. Then he also says something about "things" having changed when he's sitting in the passenger seat of Tin's car (and Tin is comforting him by saying he should not feel sad because they're doing the right thing). So that didn't reveal much about the next episode lol. We only got crumbs.

Edit: well, never mind, I watched the thing again. It's actually not clear whether Tol is using past or future tense when he's saying he "must be/have been crazy for trusting someone" (Thai doesn't have verb conjugations like English does) so he may actually be talking about trusting Tin after all.

I can understand Tin , to us it seems creepy and indeed secondhand embarassment, but I guess if you've tried every…
The thing about Tin is that he doesn't seem to really understand Tol at all (and, hence, neither do we as an audience since we are mere passengers on his whole quest to escaping his mess).

So far we do know Tin is desperate to escape the time loop: we have seen him grab a demigod by the collar, elbow his colleagues in their faces, and silently cry when being (yet again) confronted with the same dead patient. But, the way I see it, his attempt to reconnected with his family's friends was no act of desperation. It was Tin's well-thought out scheme. It seemed like he REALLY thought he had cracked the code that time around. In his mind, rekindling the fire of their childhood connection would allow him an easy way in to Tol's life. Now, the fact is, the dude doesn't take into consideration that Tol is a freaking human (even more so, a stubborn adolescent) who doesn't just act like a rational robot. You don't just push a button and get a result; humans are complex due to their emotions and past experiences.

Tin doesn't seem think of Tol as a real person but, rather, as a puzzle he needs to solve. He doesn't seem to realise that his entire judgement has been clouded by prejudice: he initially thought the guy was a drunk driver, he later thinks he is just some rich guy who refuses to take his heart condition seriously, and he sure as hell seems to think he has figured out that whole conflict with Rit too. Tin doesn't see the young boy for who he actually is (and the audience knows virtually nothing about him either, but I have an inkling he may feel much more burdened by presenting a 'perfect' image of himself than we realise. I'm wondering whether the dude is just looking for someone/someplace where he doesn't need to perform his rich-smart-and-beautiful persona).

Lol, I have several friends working in the medical field who can attest to many doctors lacking some serious social skills, unfortunately. But I suppose you will find those people in all professions. But, totally agree with you, Sammon definitely brings in an interesting insider's perspective! It also seems like the show may have hired actual medical professionals to teach the cast some basic first aid because all the ER scenes are pretty darn detailed.

And, yes, I'm definitely spotting some casual clothing there!πŸ‘€ From the look of it, it seems like we'll be getting a jealous/heartbroken Tol as well (if I'm interpreting that sad puppy look correctly, at least). My guess is that Tol will learn about Mai's other boyfriend and might, quite fittingly, run to Tin to have his heart mended. There might even still be more to Tol's story than his love arc tho, because his behavior has been overtly cautious. We still don't know what's up with that whole stolen presentation, for instance. Who knows, each time loop has done a great job at complicating the overall story arc, so I'm pretty sure there will be lots of other stuff we'll learn.

I was definitely extremely lucky to stumble upon this show this late! I don't think I'd have survived having to wait every single week. I suppose the only regret is having binged the entire thing now and needing to wait for the rest to air. Only one moth of suffering too go! πŸ˜‚

I mean, at this point, we can only speculate about the survival rate of the patients, of course. I won't be entirely surprised if Tin won't be able to save all of them (it would make for an interesting and realistic plot, and it would also would fit the whole 'coming to terms with death and guilt' theme that seems to run as a red thread throughout the show). But, then, there is probably a high chance that exposing that underground organ trafficking scheme on time will save most of them. It's also the happy ending that most people would want from this story. But, as you said, I certainly hope Tin's decisions come with real consequences (and that it's not just Jinta's empty words) because that makes the entire thing so engaging.

What is interesting to me about this whole triage situation is that Tin must save people in a way he normally doesn't have to. As an ER doctor, he does not typically have to be concerned with people's emotions or feelings. For him, saving people means prescribing medication and performing the right medical procedures, but now that he's stuck in this time loop, he needs to suddenly deal with people's emotions (which he is pretty shit at-- let's be real). He needs to actually TALK to people to save them: he needs to convince people to not commit suicide, have dinner with old family acquaintances, and go on semi-dates with his (semi)crush. In other words, he is building a connections/a social life in the place that he swore he'd leave (he was planning on selling his sister's house and moving back to his hometown after finishing his degree, if I remember correctly).

I just watched the entire trailer after reading your comment (I had only seen half of it, hehe). But, omg, yes! I really hope you're right and that we'll see Tin needing to choose between his selfish love and his medical training. It would again represent the whole triage dilemma: is he gonna approach this issue as a doctor or as a human? Is he gonna listen to his emotions or to medical policies? Medical personnel is only human too after all.
Having said that, I'm curious when we'll see actual love blossom between Tin and Tol. At this point Tol is acting like your typical hormonal adolescent who's set on falling in love with anyone BUT Tin, lol.

ALSO BISH YES I can't believe I almost missed out on this masterpiece! Literally, the only thing that got me watching this show at all was the praise this was getting in the comments! I was so confused why everyone was raving about it. And then I ended up giving it a try and freaking binged the entire thing in a span of three days. πŸ˜‚
