I downloaded the episode! I could send it to you if you want? Do you know whether MDL allows you to send files?
I don't know how to send files over MDL, tho. So if you could come up with a solution I'd love to send it to you (as much as I like the community here, I'm not about to start displaying my private email address to strangers online).
How the actual heck does this show get better and better each episode? If only I could experience watching this for the very first time again... I just really love how this show demonstrates that people's behaviour (and crushes) are always circumstantial. No character is inherently good or bad (except for the villain-doctor maybe) but they are all mere pawns in the game of life. They simply act and react.

She's there to pluck your heartstrings, and clearly she has succeeded. As @jpny01 states so well in his comments…
Sadly I find that this is how children are mostly portrayed in film. They are simple plot devices that are allowed to do random/weird things when the plot calls for some distress (no adult character can create this much ruckus and also have their issues be conveniently resolved in the same episode). Children are only there so that the main characters can demonstrate their level-headedness and responsibility. So far I do like the kid but I hope that she will actually be relevant to the overarching plot. Otherwise this whole search party episode is quite random indeed.
Kinda nice to read someone else voice what I've been thinking for a while about this series. I absolutely enjoy…
I actually think if your critique about Chay not responding properly might not necessarily be bad screenwriting but more so just a sign that the actor playing Chay is still inexperienced. If I'm not mistaken, Chay's voice slightly breaks after Kim fails to reciprocate his confession. The moment doesn't last long but it seems like he is just hiding his actual disappointment? After all, it is wholly uncool to burst into tears in front of the guy you've been crushing on since forever, especially if this guy also coincidentally happens to be a teenage heart-throb. I don't actually think it's that much out of character for Chay to try to suck it up and put on a happy face. Isn't he used to doing that with his brother too? But I def agree that he seems virtually unaffected when he stands up to cook (or that he seems to be able to whip out an entire breakfast that is not drenched in the tears he'd undoubtedly shed in private).
Because he's no longer filmed from below. In the previous episodes he is mostly shown from an upward angle (it makes him appear ominous and powerful) but now the camera shows him face-forward. I suppose the cinematography is hinting at how he is slowly losing his power.
