Rant, spoilers I'm aware not every couple has a happy ending, but I don't get our leads' reasoning. They're two…
I think Ayumi doesn't love Katsuo anymore, not in a romantically way at least, and probably never did since she was also lying to herself, even if she never said that, I think it's implied that she has other interests in life. Throughout the series, the only one who wanted to go back to the relationship was Katsuo, it was never Ayumi's initiative, she did feel threatened when she saw the risk of losing Katsuo (he getting a new gf etc.) and this is the normal because of how dysfunctional their relationship was, she was completely restraining herself.
I also felt very sad when Ayumi reacted the way she did when Katsuo was just trying to help her with calculations and stuff, because he didn't do it with a bad intention, and if THERE was love, she could have simply told him that she wanted to do this on her own and to please not meddle, and he would have been fine with it, but she was super uncomfortable like he had done something unforgivable.. at this point, I know she just doesn't love him anymore, and I agree the best path for both of them is to go on with their lives and find new loves and new partners, starting from zero, without old baggage and grudges that never fade away even if you become a different person, the fact that it happened, will always remain.
Tamayama Tetsuji's outfit in ep 3 reminded me of his character in the movie of Jigen Daisuke, I think it was very intentional and I loved this detail so much <3 this dorama keeps getting better and better, the jewel of this season
Matsu Takako's acting is so good, and she's truly STUNNING!!
My thoughts exactly, specially after watching ep 2, her acting in that scene at the end was superb, so moving and deep, her acting just keep getting better and better
Amazing movie! I loved the acting and all the unexpected things that kept happening, the twist at the end is something I started to suspect at some point, but it was brilliantly executed, highly recommended.
This was very refreshing to watch, I love how everything connected at the end, all the little details that were scattered from the beginning all come together with the ending ^^
