I feel so weird always coming back to this page although I'm watching another drama now. Is anyone else doing…
Totally agree. I just love this drama so much that it feels good just to read everyone's thoughts about it. Usually I don't go back to the page of a drama I have finished watching but I keep coming back to L&R's page.
lot of people said so) but for some reasons I dropped 3 above mentioned dramas... oh, now, I plan to restart AOL…
I agree about TMOPB. I really tried to like it but liked only a few parts, mostly liked Yang Mi in it. I felt it was ten miles of unnecessary misunderstandings. I feel the angst and misunderstandings in L&R are so well done but in TMOPB it seemed just bad communication skills most of the time. I liked AOL but mostly for Deng Lun. I didn't really like Jin Mi in it and the misunderstanding seemed too long drawn out. I simply love The Untamed though. I too wasn't sure about a BL adaptation and don't like lengthy flashbacks but just ended up falling in love with the show after about the first ten episodes. L&R just drew me in from the first episode though!
Just finished the drama with a marathon over the weekend. Oh gods, help me... I love it so much. The love is so…
Thanks @dashmount20! I did not know that and am so glad the writer modified the script because having SF be in love with The God of War because she looks like Bai Lin's aunt who is his crush sounds just weird. This was all just so much more poignant and a deep love the way they showed it in the drama.
I just love this drama so very much! Cheng Yi as Sifeng is just perfection. The rest of the cast is also good in varying degrees. It's now my favorite Chinese drama after The Untamed. I know that many who watch this feel its similarity to Ashes of Love and TMOPB. I agree although I preferred this to both AOL and TMOPB. I apologize if my opinions are disagreeable but it is just my opinion and I understand everyone has different tastes. I just didn't like Jinmi's character much, especially in the beginning, in AOL. Also, they dragged one misunderstanding so long. And here's the really different opinion- I really couldn't like TMOPB as much. I really tried but just couldn't. I liked Bai Qian but did not like Ye Hua all that much. I felt the drama was ten miles of misunderstandings. It seemed Ye Hua kept too many secrets unnecessarily. I mean Sifeng also keeps secrets but the secrets in L&R seem more like really something one might keep or felt the need to keep. But if you are a couple and some woman/women keep coming on to you so strongly, I think it might be something you would at least mention as a joke. And then there were just one misunderstanding after another which seemed so unnecessary and just really stereotypical, jealous, evil female characters. Maybe it's just me and I didn't get the pathos in it. I felt Ye Hua was a bit of a patronizing male. Sifeng, on the other hand, seems just like the ideal, noble, perfect ML. Just so swoon-worthy in his love, patience and letting Xuan Ji decide what she wants. So the similarities are many with AOL and TOL but do any of you think there's some similarities also to last year's The Legends with Bai Lu and Xu Kai? It also had a strong ML who loves the FL unconditionally and patiently. The FL is very powerful in both and thought to be evil by some. The ML keeps getting hurt, although not as much as SF of course. There's also so called righteous sects being less than righteous and the demons are actually not all that evil. A super good healer although with very different temperaments. I think there might be a few other things but I just wondered what everyone else thought. I quite enjoyed the Legends even with all its flaws and mess of an ending.
Indeed. I also was an avid kdrama fans and prefer to avoid watching any BL-related dramas before I knew The Untamed…
So true. I also didn't watch C -dramas much because I thought the stories were not as well told or acted out as K-dramas. But The Untamed changed everything. I watch C-dramas more now and started enjoying them even though nothing so far has come close to The Untamed. I even avoided BL dramas and didn't watch The Untamed for a while because it was BL. Now, months after having watched and rewatched and rewatched The Untamed several times, I still come back to its MDL page to read the comments. This drama is pure magic!
Thanks for your answers in the other thread. I think I mistakenly posted it on that thread so here are some questions.…
Thank so much @blizzardahm! Your answers don't just clarify matters and make sense but also makes me so happy that Xuan Ji and Sifeng will reunite for thousands of years of happiness in heaven. :D
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, as I understand Chinese.
Thanks for your answers in the other thread. I think I mistakenly posted it on that thread so here are some questions. Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide:) 1. Is Xuan Ji now a mortal? And do Sifeng and she still have all their powers or are they now more "normal" mortal cultivators? 2. Do you know if they will be back in heaven after they die? I thought maybe their current lifetime would be their tenth and final tribulation and then they would have passed it and be born back in heaven. Is that correct? 3. It was not Sifeng's tribulation per se so is it correct to assume it was just ten lifetimes of Xuan Ji's tribulation and Sifeng was just helping her? So he was in love with her from heaven?
1. LHJD gave part of his Liu Li heart to Sifeng after his was pierced by Yuan Lang2. LHJD wanted to die with Bai…
Thank you so much for your answers. Even I had those same questions. I did have some other questions. 1. Is Xuan Ji now a mortal? The way that SF was looking at XJ especially in the final scene was so heart fluttering.
It totally was! I really hope Cheng Yi wins the best male actor award this year. Most actors were really good but he was phenomenal. This is my second most favorite drama ever right after The Untamed. Sifeng and Wei Wuxian forever!?
After so many disappointing endings in some of the recent C-dramas, this one was so satisfying. I wish I could tell some of the writers of shows such as Dance of the Phoenix and The Heiress that this is how endings can be made satisfactory. I love and prefer happy endings but don't mind sad endings as long as they are done well instead of a wtf moment right at the end after hours of being invested in a story and its characters. Anyway, absolutely loved this drama. Best drama of 2020 so far and Sifeng might be the most dreamy ML ever! He sets the bar way too high for future MLs?
No as I said before it really doesn't help much at all, it takes me just as much time because I have to re read…
That makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I think even one episode a day is a lot and really quick for someone doing it not as a paid service. I myself work as a translator (not Chinese) and people don't understand just how long the process can take. I do mostly written works so sometimes just a couple of pages takes me the whole day if it is a particularly tricky old book. So thanks so much for all the translation and regular schedule:)
I know it's not the greatest translation but it's something to get by until the better translations comes out.I…
People might say it's just Google translate or whatever but I am eternally grateful to you for doing it. It's still a lot of work and much, much appreciated! Also it makes me so happy seeing Xuan Ji and Sifeng make up and have some loving times together in the later episodes because the heartache is too much in the upcoming ones that will be translated by https://productiveprocrastination.site/ So thanks again:)
