I believe why not many viewers watched this drama Marvelous Women, was because it was set in Qing Dynasty. Many…
Totally understand. 😂 I don't know how I did it. Maybe it's only because I'd persevered and put reservations aside because back then I'd just read a BBC article saying it was the most googled show of the year even though there is no google in China. It got me curious enough to slog through the first few episodes and then I got caught up in the show. However, I don't think I'd do it now.
Well the plot seems to just drag on and the characters are behaving kind of irrationally with a great deal of unnecessary misunderstandings. However, I cannot fault Fan Zhi Xin's acting at all. I wish I could see him in a modern full length drama with a great script and high budget.
Oh no! My most disliked of tropes came into the plot. I hate brother-sister misunderstandings! And the ML just believed the known evil dad. I know it will probably turn out that they are not siblings but I hate this plot device so much!
I like the style of ZWY, but I understand perfectly that it can't be of everyone's taste. :)
I love Zhang Wan Yi too. I first saw him in Lost You Forever and really liked him in it even though I didn't like the character he played too much. But I did think then that ZWY portrayed that character really well. After that, I loved him in Are You the One and The Rise of Ning and am really enjoying watching him in Si Jin. I am going to look forward to his dramas.
Have you seen Till the end of the moon? That one wins. I couldn't even finish it because they were spitting blood…
I agree. I thought Till the End of the Moon and Love and Redemption win the blood spitting prize. I actually found this one quite tame and was so grateful that everyone wiped their blood off immediately instead of it just sitting there while they talked or cried or both. And I was quite impressed by the lack of blood spitting by the leads in the final big battle.
I love it that they went with keeping the blood spits neat and tidy and that there are no annoying smears or drools…
That is exactly how I feel. I found it so distracting in Till the End of the Moon. it was the worst offender with regard to blood just staying there on the chin and the characters just talking like that. I hated that although I liked the drama.
