You are so right! It always annoys me that people get majorly hurt in some dramas and they can be fine in the very next scene with no trace of anything being wrong.

Mine too! It's really filling the void left by Are You the One. Also, I like the fact that except for Zhang Wanyi Yi, it is very different plot-wise from Are You the One.

Me too. I am loving the drama and have no problems with her voice either. It is not a typical voice but different people sound different and hers somehow suits her. Also, I kind of like an actor/actresses' real voice instead of the generic dubbed ones. I agree that some dubbings might be necessary and some voice actors have great voices but I like hearing the actual voice of an actor/actress more.

I feel the same way. I think when a sad ending is justified because of the story, it is fine. For example, I can't think of any other ending for Goodbye My Princess. However, this trend of unnecessary sad endings just to create more angst at the end or in an effort to make it memorable is not to my taste. I was so disappointed by the deviation from the source material for Rise of the Phoenix. I loved the show but I don't know why they changed the ending.

Me too. I thought Mr Thirteen was a goner in the last episode but was so surprised (pleasantly) that even he was alive at the end. 😊

Despite a plethora of unnecessary slow motion scenes, I am somehow hooked on this drama for now. I have watched ten episodes so far and find it more entertaining than I thought I would. I like the costumes, especially of the FL and don't even care if that they might not be period specific. I like the OST and the cinematography and the action scenes. I like both the leads and it is nice to see a Republican era drama where the leads aren't trying to kill each other or are in an extremely toxic relationship. I hope the momentum continues and it does not go downhill in the second half.

Me too. Sadly. I was enjoying it so much but today's episode and the previews for the upcoming episodes have made me want to put this on hold. Watching SRQ get so much screen time and the two leads just seem to be in a rut is getting on my nerves. I'll just wait until the comments say it is getting better or wait till the show is done.

Very true indeed. It was such an issue in The Story of Kunning Palace too. I loved the show but the weird close ups, especially of the eyes, was sooo distracting. I hope this one has good camera work and no unnecessary zoom ins.

Me too! He really reminded me also of Xie Wei with his coldness and being very hard to read for most people. I loved SKOP and am so happy with this one so far.I love Ling Bu Yi but found him more straightforward in most of his dealings. Except for his revenge plans, he seemed completely uninterested in playing any games. But both the MLs of SKOP and The Double seem to like playing mind games. I love all three though.

In any case, it was a fun and enjoyable ride watching this drama.
