But the webtoon was basically the ml thinking the fl is fooling his brother so he decides to keep testing her and breaking up the engagement until he finds out his brothers secret and then thinks his brother was the one who was fooling her (since he actually thinks she's was in love with him). So he feels really guilty and starts being super over the top nice to her, while still trying to break up the engagement but for a completely different reason this time, lol. The FL and ML fall for each other along the way while the brother is largely not in it because he goes to France for a few months before the wedding. So at the end they just switch grooms, lol.

None of this was in the webtoon, the only other family that came up was their mom. They’ve completely changed everything, lol. but for the show I’m pretty sure she left her husband but never got legally divorced before she had the younger too with another man.

They are all his grandchildren I believe? The older ones are the boys half siblings. The boys mother tried to divorce her husband but he wouldn't let her (probably cause of money since the grandfather called his son in law out on it) so she left and had the boys with a man she wasn't married to. That's why the grandfather told his son-in-law to raise them anyways since they were his wives children.

The mom was his daughter. We don't know why he dislikes the younger brother yet.

I was wondering how this would be adapted since the webtoon was basically just the leads living in the same house for two months, and honestly not enough for a whole drama.

Exactly, Sam Dal is not responsible for his feelings. If he wants to mope around the island for eight years without trying to move on or dealing with it, then that's on him (even if we find out he broke up with her for a good reason later). She can move on and date other guys or not, she's only responsible for how she feels. Plus, we don't know all the details here yet. We still don't know why the broke up yet, details have been pretty vague. He must have felt strongly about it, whatever the reason was. Plus I'm wondering if that tension between his dad and her mom (maybe related to his moms death?) has something to do with it. We just don't know yet...

ugh me too. while I agree that the female lead handled that conversation badly… that wasn’t a power trip. Did she make her run personal errands? no. scream at her in front of other people? no. If her assistant wasn’t happy with her career she should have sat down with her and asked for more responsibilities or a chance. Instead she held her resentment in for years and resorted to petty attacks and sleeping with her boss’s boyfriend? How is that proving yourself? And then she goes around acting like she’s better than all the other team members and she should be treated like a queen. Her other assistants didn’t seem to have any problems.
