Although the script for me is average at best, at least this drama finally made me understand the appeal of ZLH π (though he does seem to attract a lot of toxic fans unfortunately π). Previously I was indifferent to ZLH; I'd seen him before on variety shows and found him funny, but drama-wise I'd only seen him in LBFaD and MJTY where I thought his acting was fine, but his characters were written to be very annoying (for my personal tastes), which hampered his ability to properly showcase his acting IMO. Whilst I think the script here is so-so, I /love/ ZLH's Yan. He needs to play more evil or morally grey characters because he really suits them π
Isnt Hu Zi supposed to be very strong now? How come those zombies were giving him problems but XQQ killed them…
I was surprised that he apparently doesn't know qinggong either - honestly Huzi why are you jumping like that to grab the vegetables?! π *cough*forcedloveline*cough*
Waiting for this scene, they creatively switched male-female position. So smart π€£π€£ https://x.com/zhaoyaos/status/1711465649883541954?s=20
I sincerely hope this love line doesn't go anywhere though, I like them as friends! π€ Please C-drama land can you give us one drama where the ML and FL stay friends, not everything has to be a romance π
Haha I liked both ZLH and JL's acting in this scene, it's just a shame this script doesn't make me believe that their friendship is deep enough to warrant such an emotional break up π¬
Guys I'm on ep 9, Should I continue watching or should I give up?
This started out so promisingly, but the quality is very much average now I feel.
Aside from the issues the others have pointed out, I also think the scripwriters have missed out so many opportunities to properly develop the friendship between the 4 mains. We haven't had any scenes where the leads are properly bonding, so the 'emotional' moments and 'let me sacrifice myself 4 u!' moments feel so unearned. Which is a shame because I think the 4 leads actually have great chemistry, but their relationship building scenes sacrificed for nonsense filler. Tbh I consider this a 'pass the time without thinking too hard' drama and just watch it passively on x2 speed π
On ep 7, why do they even want to punich QXX? He thought he had 10 days, It's not his fault the orb broke sooner…
If this was a palace intrigue I'd say it's probably they need a scapegoat to quell public anger and they don't want to implicate themselves so it's easier to push the blame onto him, buuuut because this is a light-hearted xuanhuan, general villain a-holery and whatever is going on with their aggressive dark side is probably also contributing π
If you've paid for VIP you can watch it on the MangoTV app or on Youtube now, otherwise the Youtube channel releases it on Monday (I think around 7:30PM Beijing time).
Can't be the only one pissed off at the ambiguous ending. Edit: Removing my comment on him becoming monk-like…
I'm genuinely curious to know why the ending has upset you? I'm slightly baffled as to why the ending has had such a strong negative reaction for some people - is it because it's an open ending and you would prefer the ending to be definitive whether it's happy or sad, or is it because you love the character of LLH and don't want him to die?
I can understand why it's annoying when an open ending is used inappropriately, but I love the open ending here because a) I feel like it fits the character and the themes of the drama and b) I truly do not believe there is one ending that would satisfy absolutely everyone. IMO there are so many endings that would be 'right' for the drama (e.g., LLH dying after meeting up with FDB & DFS, the novel's ending, etc), why restrict it to one definitive ending rather than let viewers choose the one they like the most? That line is even in the OST song δΈε£Άθ²θ±ι haha.
Anyways, I'm not having a go at you personally and I hope it doesn't come across that way. I'm just genuinely curious as to what specifically it is that is annoying people about this ending because it seems viewers are very much split into distinct camps haha
Thank goodness they are NOT dubbed and seeing at least 3 original cast from Love and Redemption, I'm getting all…
Yes, I'm /so/ happy they didn't use voice actors! I do wish they made the editing of the dubbing less obvious though, there are moments where the sound quality and the mouth movement vs the speech is so obviously different π
I felt that too .....but they were in Germany , right?
I believe country M is meant to be Myanmar, but I imagine they didn't explictly state this because of the delicate political situation there. I'm not a political expert but the general jist is there was a military coup in 2021 and the situation is still quite volatile, so it's not really a good idea to show some of the things SWK will show and attribute it to a certain country, even if it's just a piece of fiction. Hence why it became county M :)

OP, there's also the CCTV version of the ending which is more definitive if you prefer that sort of ending π
Anyway ending aside, everyone seems to agree the MLC is otherwise an excellent drama. I'm so glad you enjoyed it π
