Regarding Pran's mum saying, 'Just not the kids next door', she was referring to both Pat and Pa (since she said…
since we are on internal ruminations, might as well share with you a passing crazy thought.. so what im gonna say is probably nonsense but it's a trope popular in Asian TV just a while back and appears every now and then:
'Leads 1 and 2 actually being half-siblings and cannot marry/be together' trope
like if the dad made the 2 women preggers around the same time.. JUST SAYING.
but barring any moral restrictions or whatever - GENETICALLY there is nothing wrong since erm no babies will be made lol.
and also Pran's dad did say that he flirted/hit on Pran's mom very early on, so it should be safe
'he doesn't know how to interact with him when they remove their rivalry from the table.' And this is exactly…
@R Dey @Kru you are absolutely right.
the 'evasiveness' is essentially driven by fear - and i think there's more to the story of Pran and whatever happened within the family that led to this reaction.
His fear of any thought of relationship was to the point of irrationality (he felt it was a hopeless case, from what he said to Wai when placing the guitar in Wai's room)
On top of that - dude Pat majorly lost points for telling Pran he liked Ink, and was relieved that Pran did not like Ink. What would u think of your crush if he/she acted as such. Pran is probably a Type 5 enneagram/ISFJ or ESFJ who cannot take this lying down.
Talking about Ink was indeed the 'correct passcode' @kru
I really appreciate the time you took to write all of that 😃. I really enjoyed reading it!🤗🤗
agree with you!
i'm starting to look at 'BL drama' in a different light. This label is commonly associated with fanservice of two good-looking dudes and sub-par storytelling. (the view on this tag might change in the future as we have more quality work)
this series (and some others) are really trying to tell love stories properly, as it should be. Screenwriting/Script/Plot is the core of the media that gives it the depth.
Pat and Pran's conversation on the beach really kinda hurts. "Speaking to you nicely - I don't know how." This…
not sure if there would be, but it'll be awesome to have a reveal scene where Pat realises Pran has liked him from XXXyear and did XYZ for him or did XYZ in order to forget him but failed to.
fun facti found out recently, for those who dont know yet - the ep 5 kiss scene was the last shot of the whole…
Thank you for discussing this! and to @HuinsuyeomGolae for introducing me to the director's and his friends' recap/reaction videos - their views on scripting and storytelling are really interesting.
i now feel that the outburst of emotions for ep5 is very contextualised - the coming together on Pat's side: the new realisation of his liking, being drunk, losing the music competition (seeing 'their song' sang with another guy); on Pran's side: also drunk/tipsy, sudden coming on and possessiveness of a dude he's been secretly in love with for so long, repressed emotions and longing.
thus on the next day, the realisation of reality hits - including the fact/confusion that Pran had cos erm, Pat literally just said that he liked Ink and was relieved that Pran did not like Ink too.. Pran's probably like "NANI" inside - im guessing it's the 'I'm not even sure u like me' or the 'im not getting between you and Ink as a third party" (ep 6 confirms this somewhat? after Pat mentions that he cleared things up with Ink and realised that he did not like Ink - Pran's expressions and demeanor relaxed immediately)

i see! thanks for letting us know!
if possible, do share where i can watch those reaction videos/comments from the director if you have, would love to see some of his rationales behind the filming.
i thought the build up to the end of ep5 was excellent, but still felt that ep 6 (other than the very start) fell off a bit in terms of following through the emotional energy given off earlier. The level of indignance and 'grievance' that Pran was in tension with felt brushed away in my opinion. Of course, it could be a small pacing issue as well, given the filming restrictions due to the pandemic..
the way this episode made me just start straight uphating wai trurly is something, i defended him with my own…
not sure if it makes u feel better - but Pat was pretty rude with his actions in thai culture. The way he spoke on the bus overly-politely just to irritate Wai, the eating of food on Wai's plate (specifically food that symbolises something offensive), the fact that Pat has technically been quite an asshole to Wai cause of his overall jealously. (he punched Wai to near-death in the novel)
plus the school rivalry and the fact that Pat seems to cause hurt directly or indirectly to Pran on multiple occasions (in Wai's POV). So Pat = trouble and pain for my good/best friend in school
and Wai holding Pran in high regard (not explained though), but they are really good buddies, even Pran's mom likes him..
Of course, not condoning bullying and fighting in gangs on people - as of right now it seems less 'punished' in thai media for TV shows, in the name of dramatized effects.
disclaimer: highly possible biasness for good-looking side characters in my track record
I have been rewatching the beach scene at night again and again. That part where Pat and Pran were bickering with…
fun fact
i found out recently, for those who dont know yet - the ep 5 kiss scene was the last shot of the whole filming schedule, that's why it was packed with emotion from their understanding of the characters (they were essentially fully into character) and the script. (saw this from a video showing twitter from one of the staff)
i personally felt that it was so emotionally charged that it felt like the energy level in ep 6 couldnt match well/link well. (not that it wasnt good). I saw a comment somewhere that mentioned that the two actors were also so shocked that the rooftop scene came so early on in the show (source needs to be confirmed)
my guess is that perhaps a less intense kiss scene was shot right before ep6 but the director decided to cut that and use this one which was probably initially meant for a edited-away plot point.
(generally, it's common to have a few scenes of additional plot points for flexibility of video editing/cutting for logical plot flow for end product)

That said, i dont think he regretted the kiss.
