It's like hearing old tired record over and over again and I learned to block out those small unimportant noises and not let them interfere my viewing experience. They sure do help a lot with the traffic of the site and in terns help with the popularity of the show that they loathe lol
I'm one of those few who enjoys dark themed BLs and this one is no exception. I will take a dark romance over boring green flag storylines any day. I kinda sorta forgave LuFeng for the horrible things he did to XiaoChen because he was ill. I am satisfied with the ending after everything considered...and they even closed with the same fortune teller from the pilot....how neat!
The plot is shaky as most Thai BLs are. They knew they need to earn coins fast with the pair's success and before their popularity dies down in fast-paced thai bl industry.
I wonder if the current Emperor and his Mom are on Yeli's hit list because she holds Prince Li accountable for the death of her brothers although she knows he was only a child and is a victim of the political game. The Emperor was only a child also but his existence had caused the tragedy...hence, he should be on her list by theory. (I know that most likely he's not)

Overall, it was a great watch. They managed to tie up all the loose ends beautifully. I especially loved the finale, where all the local ink makers unite to save the honor of Huizhou, and by extension, the country. I appreciated that the story didn't solely revolve around her romance with LWQ. However, I would have loved to see her medicinal ink shop thrive more, and I really wished her 4th aunt had apologized to the 8th branch, either before her grandpa passed or at least on the day of his funeral.

doesn't it take 1 month to get to Nanjing? and that's only 1 way....round trip would take two months and she has only half a month to prove this case??? edit: nvm, they spent 1mon+ for their entire stay in Nanjing for the competition. my bad.

honestly, she should have stayed her butt out. When she was in crisis, Li Zhen dropped everything and helped her out. and this is how she repays her "best friend".
lol...then all the experts who graded all the Inks "Supreme" be like "f**k our expretise right!! Why do we even bother spending so much time on the selection process." As much as I like to see Li Ink to triump, I don't like the story taking this route.
I don't understand RongHua's plot behind bringing Sage to the Tribute Ink selection. First, I thought she was there to help the Tian family, though she was expressing stern resentment in her body language. But now, the great Sage is saying the ink is missing the wood element/spirit that represents Huizhou, and is suggesting Tian Ink change from styrax to pine soot oil. So, is RongHua there to sabotage her family?? I also thought, the rules aren't allowed to change the formula/recipe once selected for submission.

This drama follows a talented young woman whose family was outcasted after a sudden misfortune, but build her business from the ground up and become a master in the male-dominated ink-making industry. If you are looking for pure eye candy, a fluffy romance, or a lighthearted, low-stakes watch, this might not be for you, especially if you aren't typically a fan of Yang Zi. (I love YZ so i maybe be a bit bias). Howeverrrrtr, if you appreciate deep storytelling centered around the ancient craft of ink-making, meticulous attention to detail, and powerhouse acting from the cast over a male lead's "face card," you will love it. Honestly, ML's character is primarily there to support Yang Zi's character journey, so he doesn't get the massive amount of screen time typical for a romance (he shows up on ep6 and we're on ep20 and there is no romance between the two except one-sided ML's interest towards her), but his performance delivers where it counts. The drama was superbly made.
The 4th aunt does nothing to contribute to the Li ink business (or it is insignificant that it was not shown here). All she does is hold that decade old grudge on someone who has nothing to do with the tragedy and lost as much in life as hers. Cannot wait the episode Li Zhen gets an upper hand on her and 3rd uncle.
