Oh My God!! I never realized that was him in Time Between Dog and Wolf. I watched Prison Playbook constantly thinking he looked familiar. I thought I had checked his filmography, but apparently I hadn't. He's really grown as an actor and a hottie. :D
On The Monkey King 3 Feb 25, 2018
I can not wait for this. I love all things Monkey King and I love Aaron Kwok. Donnie Yen was good, but Aaron is perfect for the role.

I didn't have much of an interest in this. I watched the trailer and took a pass. I'm not sure if you like it or not, but I think I'm still going to take a pass. After watching the trailer again, the lead actress doesn't seem flat. However, it does come off like a dub and if so, that could be the problem.

One of the ones is from the Drama Heirs where Lee Min Ho , whose character "lived" in America for a long time,…
Heirs is a perfect example. You'd think having a speech coach on hand would be part of the production cost, but obviously not.

ooh interesting idea..Good for you, girl!
Agreed! I was really bummed when Hiro Mizushima retired, but I understood his reasons (mind you they don't seem to hold water anymore). Narimiya's is on another level and just wrong. I hope nothing ever goes right for that "friend" of his again.

Is it weird that I actually love bad English in dramas? I find it so cute and often hilarious.
LOL. Not at all. It is usually funny when it's say 2 Korean characters and one swears they speak English. (It's really funny of variety shows.) It just irritates me when the character is supposed to know English and obviously doesn't.

What sad news! He was an incredible actor and a mainstay in Japanese dramas and movies. He'll be sorely missed.

LOL You can fangirl now! No waiting. I'll send you your Kame kard.

Yes, it was sad because it was obviously forced on him. There's a lot of rumors as you can imagine with people reading between the lines. It seems like he trusted the wrong person with a secret and they forced his hand. There was some kind of drug scandal, but most people think he's gay because of the letter he wrote to the public.

Yamaneko was good but bittersweet with Hiroki Narimiya retiring. They had good chemistry. Boku Unmei was really good. I had to get over my fangirl swoon of seeing Kame & Yamapi back together. Keep the other eye out for Tatta Hitotsu no Koi and Tokyo Bandwagon and...ok I'll shut up. :D

Excellent! I'm glad you find it interesting.

He's been in some good (and not that good) stuff. I hope you stumble upon Yuuki. It was a tv miniseries (2 parts) and it's very good.

I thought you might like that idea. G'head write it. :D You can use Kami no Shizuku as one of your examples. I don't remember the exact numbers but I think it was supposed to be 16 episodes, then they dropped it to 12, finally giving it the axe at 8 or 9 episodes. It didn't start off great but it was good (and I was learning a lot about wine). It was one of Kame's first attempts at not being Mr. Romantic and the Japanese public was not about it. It was supposed to be a fairly light murder mystery. It turned it a giant steeping pile of wtf.

I have to thank you guys for writing about Taku lately. He's barely been off the home page for weeks. It's like a Christmas gift that keeps giving. My birthday is in 2 weeks. He's a great presie! I plan to watch this once the subs are done. My Japanese is too poor. There aren't enough Japanese subbers any more. I'm totally feeling betrayed and burned over Code Blue (been waiting for the last eps subs for 4 months).

My biggest pet peeve is the poor English. Perhaps it's because I'm from the US, but it drives me crazy. I loathe the American businessMAN (never a woman) from the US that usually played by the older white guy with the thick German or Nordic accent. Where's he from? Minnesota? Then there's the "American" Korean that can't speak a lick of English. Born/raised in the US. Went to the finest schools. And your English sounds like you've never heard the language before. If singers and rappers can phonetically learn words and lines so can actors. Or, here's a thought, hire one of the myriad of actors in your country that actually speak the language. How about the song with English that is grammatically incorrect. A Korean Odyssey has a nice song but the line they keep playing "Always behind of you," drives me up a freakin' wall. There was no on.. NO ONE.. in the agency, in the recording booth, in the office, no where that spoke English well enough to know that made no sense.? No one? Now, in my head I sing "Always in front of you," because my delicate psyche just can't take it. I'm a petal you know. Conversely, I hate actors from the US or England that purposefully mispronounce words because everyone else does. George Hsu is good for that.

Oh! And how about when they answer the phone, but the screen is black. Or they pull the phone out of a big bag that you know is empty except for the cell.

Funny, I thought you were going to talk about ratings in dramas home countries that don't reflect international opinion.

Anywho...

I don't really give a hoot what other people think of my opinion. A lot of the time I write reviews when I think the reviews are skewed too much to one side or if there aren't any reviews to begin with. I rarely ever see comments if there are any. In example this just made me think of my Goblin review, which I wrote because I felt it was being rated too high. It's been a year or more and I just read the comments. * shrug * I'm not worried. As long as I'm true to me, I'm happy.

I like how the Korean police don't need guns, apparently. In several shows I've seen, neither knives are carrying…
I'm not sure what dramas you've been watching, but South Korean officers do have guns. Don't forget the main guys aren't cops. They're lawyers.
