I agree with everything except this, "In a mature drama with older actors that aren’t new to dating or relationships…
Actually I’ve seen lots of Asian dramas with mature actors in mature relationships that are full of passion. Maybe in the past this wasn’t so but recently theres tons of passionate mature romcoms nowadays. The male lead in this drama has a very passionate mature relationship in a drama that I love called Her Private Life. Also What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Love Designer, Well Intended Love and many many other dramas have mature actors with mature romances that are quite spicy and age appropriate.
Where's the romance? I'm just over half way and there's none. Isn't this meant to be a romantic comedy? I'm getting…
I wouldn’t call this a steamy romance. It’s more of a sweet cute fluffy romance. It gets romantic around episode 12. Several decent kisses and lots of hugs and cuddles. Nothing spicy though. If you want more info on the romance you can read my review I just posted. I go into detail about it. It’s spoiler free.
Overall I’d say this is a really good drama that I’ll probably rewatch at some point. The comedy is very good, the acting is superb, the mystery is fun to figure out, and the actors have a sweet romance. If you go into it not minding that some of the storyline is cliche and that even though the actors are mature the romance is a bit young sweet and fluffy, you’ll love it. It wasn’t perfect but it was one of those rare dramas I didn’t fast forward through and instead binge watched. I liked the message it’s trying to get across and how it makes us analyze love. Every person in the drama did crazy things for love. Some did it for romantic love, some did it for sibling love, some did it for parental love but they all did crazy things for love. Love makes us so crazy we might want to give up on it and all other emotions. But without love are we really even human? Is there even any quality to life without it? It’s something to ponder over for sure.
If you want to keep it legal, you can use VPN and access Disney+ Hong Kong. 😊
I saw an earlier post about this and it worked! I’ve never purchased or used a VPN before but I finally did it. I just purchased Nord and used Hong Kong as the location. I was so worried that using a VPN would be too confusing but it was super easy. Even a child could do it.
For those of you struggling to watch this with English subtitles in America I’m using a VPN and it’s working great. I went to Disney+ and used Hong Kong as my location and it’s working perfectly. I’m so happy. I thought I’d have to wait forever to watch it.
I’m going to watch LETL because of your review. I need to watch something that has more wholesome, relatable…
I think you’ll like it. As long as you don’t get too invested in the second male lead you’ll be fine. It’s a very wholesome warming drama. If you need recommendations for future dramas let me know. I’ve been watching Asian dramas for over 10 years now. I feel like I’ve watched just about all of the good romance dramas out there because that’s my favorite type of drama. But if it’s a drama with a sad ending or a lot of angst I won’t know much about it. I don’t like anything that makes me anxious or is overly depressing.
Sunshine Of My Life and Falling Into Your Smile are two recently released dramas that are light and fluffy. I…
I’m in the process of adding another section in my custom lists called Light & Fluffy. It will only include romance dramas that have very low angst and have lots of really sweet or cute moments. I should be finished tonight.
Can someone please recommend me another sweet fluffly drama like this one? Where the leads have a mature relationship…
Sunshine Of My Life and Falling Into Your Smile are two recently released dramas that are light and fluffy. I really liked them both. I have a list of good romcoms with reviews if you want to check them out on my custom lists.
I liked that the first half was very very light hearted and focussed on issues in a way that didn't shove it in…
I agree that having those last few episodes wrap up the theme of the show was a good idea. I just wished they had either spread the angst throughout the drama or had taken more episodes to clarify matters in the end like maybe 6 episodes instead of 3. I liked how Du Sik and all of the other characters actions and thinking were explained. It’s just that there were so many things going on and so many situations being clarified towards the end that it felt like a totally different drama to me. Of course, that’s my personal preference. I prefer dramas that are balanced and more evenly paced. But it’s the trend in Chinese dramas to go slow and relaxed for 3/4 of the drama then boom you’re hit with all of the excitement and angst at the end. I’m not a fan of this trend. But I did enjoy the drama and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
I agree with amolmandes recommendations, here are a few more:Love Designer (steamy romance that’s light hearted…
Sounds like we have the same taste in dramas. Check out my lists. I have lists of my favorite dramas along with a brief description of each. I have several categories like historical, modern, sci-fi, and steamy dramas with lots of skinship.
