i agree for Boss & Me. Loveo2o is too abusive, but YAMG is the opposite and i like it a lot
The male lead from Boss & Me is in a new drama. It’s called Sunshine Of My Life. I can’t wait to watch it. I loved him in Boss & Me.

I subscribed to Netflix and Viki which is more than enough. But I subscribed to Tencent just for this drama. I need to stop subscribing too.

What is unique about this drama is that there aren’t second leads obsessed with the main leads and stirring up trouble between them. Nor are there silly misunderstandings or noble idiocy. Most dramas use the same old methods of moving the plot along. They use outside forces of some sort to create tension between the leads. What is unique here, and why I like Gu mans works, is that she really develops her characters well and gets you emotionally invested in their lives without some cliche evil antagonist. The basic storyline is not unique. But the emotional journey she takes you on and the deeper underlying message she sends is very unique. Her novels are also unique because her main leads usually have healthy normal relationships we can relate to. They actually talk and communicate well which is highly unusual in an Asian drama. But I agree with you that without Yang Yang and Reba this drama wouldn’t have done near as well. This is a complicated, deep, emotional drama that most actors couldn’t pull off. I’m huge fans of theirs and hope they win all of the top awards next year.

I can’t imagine how big it would have gotten if it was aired on a bigger platform like Viki or Netflix. The fact that it’s doing incredibly well on Tencent shows what an amazing drama it is.

Gu Man had Yang Yang in mind when she wrote the novel and even sent him a copy of it back in 2019 because she wanted him to play the male lead. The main leads were perfect for the part.

I’ll be surprised if this drama doesn’t take the top awards as the best drama of the year.

Novelist Gu Man has done it again! It seems like every time she writes a novel it becomes an amazing big hit drama. Two of her dramas, Boss & Me and Love o2o, are in my top 10 favorite modern dramas. I didn’t think she would be able to do anything as successful as Love o2o but she proved me wrong. This drama is so good! Of course there will be those haters that don’t like it because there aren’t any fast paced action scenes or evil antagonists in this drama. But slice of life dramas like this one don’t rely on your typical cliche drama tropes to move the plot along. They rely on well developed characters and the emotional journey they take to move us and get us invested in the drama. And this drama does an excellent job of that, just look at the ratings! I’ve enjoyed watching Yang Yang and Reba grow and mature as actors over the years. I’ve watched many of their dramas and movies and this was probably the best I’ve seen from both of them. Their acting was phenomenal!

Yes it’s a lot like Go Go Squid. I’m not into e-sports either but I loved Go Go Squid. This is very similar you will love it.

Wasn't a fan of Dilraba after watching her in TMOPB and almost skipped this drama because of her but I decided…
You should watch her in Love Designer. She plays a confident sassy up & coming clothing designer. Her chemistry with the male lead is on fire and the whole cast and storyline is amazing.

Several e-sports groups in China accused the female lead of ruining the spirit of e-sports with the character she played in the drama. They didn’t like how their community was portrayed. They attacked her on tons of social media accounts. The bullying was so bad her agency threatened legal action. They really hurt the dramas ratings in China. Fortunately here in the USA we don’t care about that stuff. We just like a good drama. So it’s doing really well over here. But some of those in the e-sports community aren’t happy about that and want the drama to flop over here too. So the cyber bullying has started to happen over here now. It’s very obvious what they’re doing.

I looked her up and she’s been a professional dancer with lots of awards in that field for over 10 years. I would love to see her in a drama that involves dancing.

There’s one person that says they dropped the drama after episode 5 because it wasn’t realistic. But they keep lingering in the comment section complaining about the drama. Ive tried to lighten things up a bit with some positive comments but they keep coming back with excessive negativity. I find their actions highly suspicious. They were what prompted me to make my post. Who keeps going back to talk about a drama they dropped at episode 5? I think a lot of this is linked to the controversy in China. I feel bad for for the people that might miss out on a great drama because of them.

Amen.
I’ve been watching Asian dramas for over 12 years and the comments and reviews on this drama are highly suspicious. Normally when a person drops a drama because they don’t like it they just move on to the next one. But people that disliked this drama are lingering in the comment section and trashing it. It’s normal when you really liked a drama to linger in the comments section to reminisce about all the stuff you liked about it. But lingering in the comment section of a drama you disliked and dropped is highly unusual. This drama was too good to warrant that type of negativity. It’s highly suspicious and seems like a targeted attack.

Even though this is an e-sports drama I liked that it was more focused on the hardships and intense scrutiny gamers face from others. We never think about how hard it is being in the limelight and having everyone judge you or attack you. The bullying and undeserved attacks they endured was something that needed to be addressed because it’s obviously becoming a real problem lately. In fact, seeing new accounts pop up just to talk about how ugly they think the female lead is, is a perfect example of how bad the problem has become. The female lead is an idol in China and we know how high Chinas beauty standards are. There’s no way she could be chosen to be an idol if she wasn’t pretty. So this is just outright bullying of a celebrity. Then there’s the new accounts that pop up complaining that the dramas portrayal of the gaming world isn’t realistic. But what drama is realistic? It’s not realistic to trip into a mans arms constantly or to have a childhood friend that’s obsessed with being with you. But we see that in practically every drama we watch nowadays. It’s obviously another case of bullying. Sadly, many of these posts criticizing the drama are looking more and more like they are purposely trying to hurt the drama and keep people from watching it. I don’t understand the mentality behind it. It makes no sense.

A guy saying on a press conference that his rival team only hired a female gamer to create hype and gossip is…
He may have challenged the whole club in the beginning but he made it clear from the start that he was after the female lead. Then during the game he targeted her relentlessly. He has a past history of bullying new recruits that are really talented. He wants them to lose their confidence and give up. His taunting and aggression may be normal mental warfare in the gaming community but it’s still a form of bullying. And bullying is wrong. You’re right, he’s a nasty person.

Like all dramas out there, it’s all fantasy and not very realistic. I mean it’s not very realistic for a girl to constantly fall into a guys arms or for a person to have a longtime friend that’s obsessed with being with them. But we see that scenario in almost all dramas now. So when I watch a drama I don’t expect it to be very realistic. I’m just there to enjoy the ride so to speak. But I can see where an avid gamer might not like it. It’s too bad that you dropped it though because it’s super funny and has some awesome characters in the gaming community. I loved how the team members became like family and had each other’s backs.
