i’m on episode 8 and everyone in the comments saying there’s no love triangle is a liar 😭 Yes the SML is…
I think people are saying there isn’t a love triangle because the main leads only have eyes for each other. I only consider it a true love triangle when one of the main leads likes more than one person and doesn’t choose who to be with till near the end of the drama. When a second lead loves one of the main leads with no possibility of a romance I just consider that unrequited love, not a love triangle. But I guess that’s up to each individual’s personal definition of what a love triangle is. But I get where you’re coming from. I felt really bad for the SML too. Don’t worry though, he bounces back pretty good and is happy.

After reading so many conflicting reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. Was it touching and sweet? Yes. Was the acting good? I was blown away by the acting skills of this entire cast. Did the main leads have chemistry? Absolutely! So why all the negative comments? First, the pacing and setting could have been better. Second, it’s a slice of life drama which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Not everyone likes the laidback vibes of these types of dramas.
Personally, I thought it was a pretty good drama. If they hadn’t crammed all of the excitement and angst into the last 3 episodes it would have been perfect. I appreciated all of the various topics that were touched upon. Like death, mental health issues, the effects of divorce on both parents & children, and alternative lifestyles. But most of these issues were hinted at and slowly built up throughout the drama but didn’t really come to light till the last few episodes. So it seemed like everything happened all at once near the end making it feel rushed. If each issue had been dealt with separately throughout the drama it would have been more interesting and more evenly paced.
That being said, it’s still a really good drama that’s definitely worth watching. But only watch it if you like slice of life dramas.

I agree with amolmandes recommendations, here are a few more:
Love Designer (steamy romance that’s light hearted and funny)

Well Intended Love (lots of skinship and very cute)

Put Your Head On My Shoulder (very romantic & fluffy)

Fight For My Way (Park Seo Joon is shirtless throughout a lot of the drama, need I say more?)

Intense Love (realistic kisses, chemistry is on fire, very fluffy)

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (really funny with great romance)

Love o2o (light, sweet, & funny)

Go Go Squid (steamy kisses, fluffy, & touching)

You Are My Glory (tons of skinship, light & fluffy)

I hesitated to watch it with all of the mixed reviews. But with its high rating I figured it had to be pretty decent so I went ahead and watched it. I think this dramas high ratings led to overly high and unrealistic expectations which resulted in people feeling let down. I’m glad I watched it though. It was better than I expected it to be. Yes it’s full of cliches. But there’s lots of really lovable side characters that have tons of character growth. And the ending was great and didn’t feel rushed. It’s light, sweet, and fluffy with just the right amount of angst. I would watch it again.

I have watched 5 episodes of this drama, and it feels kind of boring. Nothing really happens. I don't see much…
This is a slice of life drama. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Slice of life dramas don’t have evil antagonists or silly misunderstandings to move the plot along. Instead they use well developed characters with lots of depth and the emotional journey they go on to move the plot along. Some people find these types of dramas boring because there’s not a lot of friction or tension. Others like me love these types of dramas that have a subtle but deep underlying message that has a lesson to teach. If you’re looking for lots of action or comedy or angst then this drama isn’t for you. If you enjoy a slower paced drama that focuses on issues we can relate to that pop up in our everyday lives, especially relationship issues, then you’ll like this drama. Personally I loved it but I can see how some people might not enjoy it.

Title You Are My Glory Spoiler
Ok here’s a question: In epi 27; when JJ says to her assistant that she has an early flight the next day, then…
JJ lied about the flight and how long her break was because she wanted to surprise YT

Title Crush
What to watch first this or You are my Glory?
Watch Crush first because nothing can compare to how amazing You Are My Glory is. If you watch YAMG first then Crush will be a huge letdown.

Who say that this drama is not unique it proves that they're not really watching this drama. You are my glory…
There’s a handful of people on here saying the drama isn’t unique. On a post further down WK1 said: “The storyline is hardly unique. Just the reverse of the rich CEO-poor girl. “ Then they said: “My one line summary of her review: Dilraba and Yang Yang just saved this drama from becoming a financial disaster.” There are fans of the actors that believe the drama would have been nothing without them and that they “saved” the drama. They talk as if it were poorly written or not unique enough to make it without their favorite actors. I disagree. Gu Man wrote an amazing novel (as she usually does) and without her great story the drama wouldn’t have done as well. A famous actor once said “An actor is only as good as the script he is given. Without a great story to tell we are nothing.” I acknowledge the superb acting skills of the leads but disagree with those that fail to acknowledge the writers talent.
I also agree with you that the whole aerospace storyline is very unique and quite interesting.

You’re absolutely correct. These actors fans are pretty biased and won’t acknowledge anyone else’s achievements…
Yeah I wish she wrote faster. It takes forever to get a novel out of her.

Just about everyone loved it. I thought it was amazing.

Exactly. Without Gu Man Dilraba and Yang Yang would have no story to act and awards to win. Even if Gu Man does…
I’m always looking for a good book to read. I’ll check them out.

Comments like the negative one below are usually from people that only like dramas with lots of mindless violence,…
I actually find the action packed dramas to be boring. Most them focus too much on action and not enough on depth or character growth.

The awards should be for the entire YAMG - good screen writing, good acting from Reba and YY , good directing.…
Very true. Everyone involved did a great job. Most novels turned dramas get hated on by those that read the novel. But they managed to do justice to the novel. In fact, I think it’s better than the novel. The whole crew deserves credit for a job well done.

I just finished and I LOVED IT. Do not understand what the comment below me is talking about because this show…
Comments like the negative one below are usually from people that only like dramas with lots of mindless violence, unnecessary angst, or constant action scenes. Only those with a higher intellect can truly appreciate a drama that takes you on an emotional journey and has underlying messages that teach a lesson. Slice of life dramas aren’t for everyone. The ratings and record breaking viewership speaks volumes about how good this drama truly is. I pity those who are unable to appreciate its obvious value because it really inspired and touched me.
On You Are My Glory Aug 27, 2021
Some will say that this drama is not unique since the designer and gamer storylines have been done a lot lately. I say they’re missing the point. What makes this drama unique is not the setting the characters are put in nor is it what their careers are. It’s how Gu Man wrote their characters and how she had those characters interact with others. Gu Man wrote a unique drama where the leads actually have a healthy relationship and communicate. And yet it’s not boring at all. She proves that you don’t have to have ridiculous misunderstandings, breakups, or obsessed second leads to make a drama interesting. That’s why this drama is so unique. There are no tripping and falling into the male leads arms, no accidental kisses, or drunk confessions. Nothing about this drama is cliche (except the basic setting of the drama.) Everything else is very unique because Gu Man gave us realistic characters that we can relate to then she wrote a story that took us on an emotional journey we won’t forget. And thats why I like Gu Mans dramas so much. She’s an excellent story teller that gives us amazing characters and she never relies on cliche drama tropes to move the plot along. Of course without Reba and Yang Yang’s superb acting the drama wouldn’t have been near as good as it is. Both of them deserve awards for their phenomenal acting skills in this drama. It just bothers me that some people are downplaying Gu Mans contributions to the drama and not giving her the credit she deserves. I think she and Yang Yang and Reba should win all of the top awards for this drama.

I really love this show so much!! Can you recommend mo some drama similar to this? Where the male lead fall over…
Love Scenery was light fluffy and had lots of kisses. If you want to know more about it you can read my review of it. I also liked Put Your Head On My Shoulder. It’s also really sweet and romantic. I prefer light sweet romcoms so most of my custom lists and recommendations are for these types of dramas.

I just had to drop by and sayYou Are My Glory will always have a special place in my heart. I appreciate the author…
You’re absolutely correct. These actors fans are pretty biased and won’t acknowledge anyone else’s achievements accept the actors they adore. So take some of the earlier comments with a grain of salt. Gu Man is a very well respected novelist and highly sought after in China. Everyone fights over who gets to produce her novels because they’re always phenomenal. She’s had way too many successful novels and dramas for anyone to discredit her. Her works and accolades speaks volumes.

Off topic. This is a question for Koreans, Why do Koreans drink so much alcohol? I know every country drinks alcohol,…
My best friend is Asian and she said Asians turn to alcohol because of all of their stress. They are basically workaholics. Most Asians work from sun up till very very late at night. They expect perfection in both appearance and work. It’s very stressful and alcohol makes them relax and forget their problems.
