The fighting well part makes sense. Otherwise he's so many times alone with the prince, threatening him. the prine could've kept a small dagger hidden and then when he's threatening him in his calm smug voice the prince just could've just stabbed him right through the neck.
From what i got from watching till episode 3 is crown prince doesn't care about anything other than his wife who he thinks is dead and he was ready to die following her. So what's stopping him to just off the left minister and then accept whatever happens. Is he not physically strong enough?
