I sincerely hope they won’t be involve in any form of cheating here or else it will crush my heart. T_T
I'm 100% certain no cheating will be involved because MAME doesn't write OTPs who cheat and she is the one who has written the script for season 2. The original novel hasn't included cheating either and they lived happily ever after in it. The same will happen in the drama even if the story will differ according to the news we are getting.

Hi guys. I don't use twitter that much and not very often (only for ofc links) so I might have missed it but did…
MAME promised that if the show reaches 50 million views, they're gonna release the BTS #MewGulf kissing scene and they DID post it. This is the reward video:

right!! i dont know seems like Hirablue is getting involved too much. hopefully they will not interfere with Mame's…
The change of director has nothing to do with the new sponsor. MAME herself confirmed that she asked Tee to return as a director for season 2 three times but he refused because he wanted to focus on other projects.

Let's remember, it was her who had chosen him and the crew for season 1 so I think there is a good change she will pick someone as talented as him for season 2 because she loves TharnType so much that she invested her own money into it so she could bring it to life so it's basically her love child and it's unlikely she would do anything to hurt it.

the title is quite disturbing... Will it be THE Last and no s2? :( it's so hard to say goodbye to those two ?
It means they are each other's last love, that is, they won't ever love anyone else.

Title TharnType
Episode 5 really reveals how attracted and fascinated by Tharn Type has become. No matter how much he tries, he just can’t hide his feelings for Tharn anymore and there are even times when he doesn’t even bother to conceal them. It’s clear that it isn’t only Tharn who is good at knowing the person he likes. It all started so subtly, so innocently with him noticing that Sprite is Tharn’s favourite drink, and now Type can even discern the different ways he smiles! That’s a completely different level of obsession and devotion which has nothing whatsoever to do with being casual lovers. Without realizing, Type’s heart has been rushing into this love so fast and hard and he has no way of stopping it, just as he has no chance of stopping the sun from rising in the morning. Somewhere along the way, he started falling in love with his roommate. And everything about him gives it away, be it his questions, answers, reactions, body languages, the way he behaves,…Type, who is usually quite taciturn and blunt, becomes so radiant and adorably shy around Tharn, especially after Tharn tells him that his real smile belongs only to him. It makes him blush to the roots of his hair but even his gruff retort can’t hide how happy Tharn’s admission makes him. Basically, when he is with Tharn he is happy and without Tharn he becomes gloomy. I love how his smile disappers the moment Tharn is about to leave to greet his friends. Type is so obviously disappointed that his sex friend is leaving him alone that when he called Tharn’s name I half-expected him to catch his arm and beg him not to go.

The bar sequence is really great at showing all the confusing emotions Type feels towards Tharn - curiosity, happiness, bashfulness, uncertainty, jealousy, love and physical longing. Episode 6 will be addressing Tharn’s need for their relationship to be monogamous and exclusive; however, what some people might not realize is that it was Type who got jealous and possessive of Tharn first. When Tharn’s boss tells him about all the girls who have been throwing themselves at the drummer, Type’s smile wanes but the moment she mentions that he is the first person Tharn brought to the bar in a long time which made her think that Type was Tharn’s boyfriend, he immediatelly perks up, revealing a satisfied and wistful smile because it makes him happy to learn that he has a claim on Tharn that no one else does and that he is someone special for him. It’s as if he were saying with that smile: “This man is mine.” Here comes again into play the dichotomy between what Type so stubbornly continues to say, that he and Tharn don’t go beyond sex friends, and the way he actually behaves, which is in direct contrast to it because exclusiveness, jealousy and possessiveness (among many other things he feels for Tharn) are not something which belong into a casual relationship. The final proof is that he gets so openly and illogically jealous AT GIRLS in front of Tharn, even though Tharn previously told him that he couldn’t even get aroused when he tried to sleep with one.

The slightly tipsy Tharn is such an adorable puppy, he loses the edge and becomes even sweeter and more frank about his feelings than usual. And it’s really this sincere, unfeigned and earnest honesty and love which attract Type to him like a moth to the flame. When they are together the whole world just fades away until they become the only two people in a universe where no one can touch them. Type loses himself in the magic that Tharn weaves around them, melting under the softness shining in Tharn’s chocolate eyes.

Their featherlight kisses are so fucking perfect and achingly real, so soft and lingering as if they both wished it would never end. There is no rush, only pure pleasure. And it means so much because when Tharn is oh so slowly closing the distance between their lips, Type has all the time in the world to bolt and move away but he lets that kiss happen because he craves it as much as Tharn does; even though they’re in a public place which only makes it even more real and special for Tharn who longed for so long to treat Type like his lover for all the world to see.

“You’re the friend, I want to do this with.”

Tharn has this innate ability to touch Type’s heart with everything he does and says and that confession has Type literally spellbound, because it’s exactly what he secretly wants to hear - that he is the only one for Tharn, just as his kisses make him spellbound, as if he were drunk too, but not on alcohol but them, because to him they are a heady sweet drug he’s grown addicted to.

Title TharnType
When Type asks Tharn to join him for breakfast, Tharn is so shocked that it looks like his eyes might pop out of their sockets. It’s so obvious that Type invites him because he wants to be with him, even though he never says it and keeps coming up with all these ridiculous, roundabout excuses so he wouldn’t lose face in front of Tharn. Also, another reason why Type asks Tharn is because he knows that it would make him happy and that barely supressed smile at Tharn’s surprised but happy reactions is the proof. It excites him to have this sort of power and sway over someone; at this point, he must view Tharn as some a loyal, devoted puppy who’s blissfully grateful for every touch, every show of attention, every bone he throws him and that keeps coming back again and again no matter how bad he treats him. It’s both apt and heartbreaking comparison, because the man-dog relationship reflects the safety of being just sex friends in the aspect that it’s safer than a deep emotional involvement between two people, but the thing is that Type hasn’t realized how much he’s grown attached to that “puppy”.

What Type really fails to see is how much dependant he himself has become on Tharn for attention and affection. He keeps asking all these questions “What are you gawking at?” and “What are you smiling at?” in that gruff manner of his because he damn well knows what Tharn’s answers will be and he wants to hear him say all those sweet admissions - that it’s HIM AND HIM ALONE WHO THARN IS LOOKING AT, SMILING AT, ONLY HIM WHO MAKES HIM HAPPY LIKE THIS. They make Type happy and he secretly wants to make Tharn happy, as well, no matter how much indifferent he claims to be.

It’s damn hard to resist Tharn’s sad puppy eyes and pouty lips and Type lasts exactly 5 seconds before he gives in and does exactly what Tharn wants, so susceptible he is to those puppy eyes which Tharn knows so well how to use. Tharn isn’t the only person in this relationship who is whipped, though Type might not yet be at Tharn’s level of worshipping the very ground he walks upon, but he is gradually getting there. At this pace, I think it won’t take long before we see him doing Tharn’s laundry, as well.

Title TharnType
When Type inquires about his job, Tharn is really suprised by the question since he grew used to the fact that Type rarely shows any interest in his life therefore he never shares much about himself with Type unless he asks. And now, when Type suddenly can’t stop himself from asking more and more questions about him who is he to deny him that.

“I want you to know me. The me I’m right now. The me who knows pain.”

And just like the time when he told Type about his first sexual experiences, Tharn continues to be brutally honest about himself with him. The most admirable thing is that he doesn’t share only the nice things but the messy, ugly and uncomfortable stuff which might show him in bad light and could very easily make Type dislike him. He truly doesn’t withold anything from him and tells him the entire truth (at least the version of the truth he knows) because he wants Type to get to know the man he is, flaws and all. And the whole time Type carefully listens, his full attention on Tharn’s story, unwittingly revealing how much he wants to learn more about his new sex friend. The thing about curiosity is that it’s also a huge indicator of how much you actually care about another person because you can’t care without being curious in the first place.

Type realizes that the topic of his former band makes Tharn sad so he doesn’t want to pry but masks it with a lie that it’s none of his business, but Tharn reveals the truth to him anyway. It’s the second time he alludes to his ex-boyfriend (Tar) which is clearly still a painful memory full of regrets. However, before he actually tells him, Tharn holds Type’s hand, giving it little caresses with his fingers, as if to draw strength and courage from his presence, but I think a part of him wants to make sure that Type is still there, tangible, because a part of Tharn is actually afraid that what happened with Tar might happen again.

When Tharn reveals to him that he wants Type to get to know him without any pretenses, as usual, this heartfelt honesty is too much for Type who grows uncomfortable with it and doesn’t know how to react to it so he brushes it aside with a grudging mumble and changes the topic. However, when Tharn let go of his hand, he lingered with his eyes on the spot where Tharn’s fingers used to be, regreting the loss of them, and the mention of Tharn’s former boyfriend made him sad.

people here are really not sensitive...wtf....you telling here the end?!!!!!!! there people that didn't read it…
It's not how the novel ends. It isn't included in the novel. The author mentioned it at a seminar with MS yesterday. It's what she had told him when she was preparing him for the role. It's on her official Twitter so it isn't really a spoiler for the book or the drama. It's basically the same type of information that J. K. Rowling shares about Harry Potter universe on Pottermore or in her interview - like the fact that Dumbledore was gay and had a romantic relationship with Grindelwald or that Ginny used to play Q professionally. Anyway, I put it under the spoiler tag.

Someone should please tell me, what was the point of author spoiler about their future, why can't she just say…
Humans are mortal and everyone dies eventually, Death is a natural part of life, including it only increases the complexity of the story, making it feel more real. I think the ending she gave them is the definition of happily ever after. Forty long years together in life, and after some waiting, an eternity in the afterlife. The author basically made afterlife canon in her universe, so Tharn and Type could be together forever. You can't beat that. Theirs story is the epitome of enduring love.

Title TharnType Spoiler
Regarding the author's comments about the conclusion of Tharn's and Type's story I just want to to say I’m not crying, you’re crying. I got literal shivers here. If there ever was a relationship which could be more perfectly captured by Knock’s famous line to Korn “Although I don’t like you as long as you’ve been liking me, from now on, I’ll like you longer than you’ll ever like me ” than Tharn’s and Type’s love for each other, I don’t know about it. And it’s such a fitting conclusion because in the very beginning it was Tharn who fell in love with Type first and waited for him to come to love him the way Tharn loved him and later it’s Type who is the one waiting for Tharn until he can join him in the afterlife so they can be together forever.

I’ve alwas loved how the title of the novel/drama consisted of their names (which even start with the same initial letter) without any space between them, as if they were inseparable - one body, one soul, one heart. As if even death itself couldn’t part them from each other and now it turns out it’s true.

Theirs is the ultimate love story and their love is eternal.

It's so beautiful because their story is coming full circle and there is this beautiful message about enduring love and that their love story is never going to end. I have so many feels right now it's unreal!

This must be one of the most authentic and beautifully shot first time OTP sex scenes I’ve ever seen! In most dramas, lovemaking happens in the second half after a mutual confirmation of feelings - it’s usually depicted as a culmination. Not here. Here, it’s portrayed as another crucial step: it’s basically about satisfying what the body and heart need before the brain catches up because the heart has its reasons, which reason does not know. What really makes this moment feel special and real is that we get to see it in its entirety, not just the kisses and embraces, but Type’s offer and trepidations, Tharn’s acceptance and the immediate aftermath.

Type’s roundabout explanation why he wants to sleep with Tharn, which basically is an excuse he needs, hides several reasons behind it. It’s not that Type feels he owes Tharn, he is actually grateful. He’s always been on the receving end of Tharn’s kindness and he realizes that, though he lacks the capacity to voice it out loud but still wants to give Tharn something he truly wants in return for all his kindness. Of course, he conveniently forgets the part about liking him first because the sex is much easier to process and accept. Moreover, he is genuinely curious and physically attracted to Type. Tharn makes him feel good and completely forget about his molester, so he wants to use Tharn to overcome it. And finally, perhaps the most important reason but one that Type might not admit to himself just yet is that he’s deeply affected by the way Tharn loves and accepts him so unconditionally. Deep down, he wants to be treasured, cherished, kissed, held and loved. It’s important to note that when he asks Tharn to sleep with him, he is giving him power over himself and absolute trust not to hurt him with it, just like when he told him about his childhood.

Somewhere in his heart, Type realizes this but is unable to accept it that’s why he wants to their sex to be a one night stand without kisses (because he knows what Tharn’s kisses can make him feel), business-like with no emotions involved but Tharn wouldn’t have it. This episode really shows why they cast a slightly older actors as Tharn - not to make the character more masculine, but to make him more sexually experienced and emotionally mature than Type. Because from Type’s description of his past sexual encounters, he views sex as something to scratch an itch and it’s Tharn who is teaching him the difference between physical release and real intimacy.

That one kiss Type gives to Tharn on a dare is so beautifully shy and brave, it’s no wonder Tharn finds him so impossibly irresistible. And the moment Tharn begins his onslaught of gentle kisses, Type’s heart betrays him and he loses himself in the intimacy and pleasure.

One of my favourite moments is when Tharn takes Type’s hand and places it right above his heart. It’s as if he’s telling him that that part of him belongs to him. And then he leads his hand lower in a caress, showing him how to touch him and how to be bold because Type’s relative inexperinece and shyness prevents him from touching Tharn in other places than his back and shoulders.

The whole sequence is filmed in subtle, understated manner but explicit enough to make it feel real with the right mix of romance and reality, especially the aftermath which is very authentic. The realities of gay sex are addressed with messy sheets, sweat and certain degree of discomfort; however, what I love even more is how natural, straightfoward and frank the whole conversation between Tharn and Type is because the whole moment is really one of brutal honesty and banter. It’s Tharn’s turn to bare his soul and share himself with his lover, to show his own weaknesses and bad experiences and that he isn’t as strong or infallible as Type might think. It’s important to see that the trust and honesty goes both ways.

Furthermore, it means so damn much that Type is asking questions Tharn questions about him, showing real curiousity in him which is something which happened several times in this episode. Also, when Type mentions Tharn’s former “butt buddies” and Tharn defends his former boyfriends you can literally spot a hint of jealousy and sadness in Type’s eyes.

Finally, how awesome is it that since the moment he confessed Type has never let pass any opportunity to tell Type that he likes him? And Type is clearly having hard time resisting Tharn’s courtship and flirting.

Title TharnType
The opening scene of episode 4 was a prelude to the moment of Type’s catharsis which was something he needed to do in order to let go of his past. In front of Tharn, he finally stops hiding behind the mask of pride and bravado and purges all his demons out of his system, pouring it all out as if a damn broke, and we finally learn the reason behind his homophobia. Type opens up about the horrible childhood memory which keeps tormenting him. It’s the sort of vulnerability and honesty he hasn’t allowed himself since he was 11 years old and hurting. And what actually triggers it is Tharn’s unconditional acceptance of everything he is, including the things even he hates about himself.

When Tharn starts pleading with Type to stop his self-imposed exile and hunger strike, to stop hurting himself, he can’t fathom how Tharn can be so kind to him after every awful thing he said and done to him therefore he attempts to refuse Tharn’s kindness because he doesn’t consider himself to be worthy of it. I think some masochistic part of him wants Tharn to hate him, to tell him what a bastard he is and that everything the people say about him is true and that’s why he self-depricates himself and throws into Tharn’s face how he hates him and all gays. However, when Tharn whispers that he KNOWS that whatever happened at the university is not his fault, that he believes in his innocence and that he is on his side despite everything, IT’S HIS UNDOING. The realization that someone can accept him like that when the whole world, including himself, thinks he is a trash and that it’s the very person he’s given the least reasons to defend him shakes him to the core. Furthermore, Tharn never asked him for explanation what really happened and yet, he possess this unshakable, blind trust in Type’s innocence. All those people judge Type based on one article on Facebook or after spending few minutes in his company but Tharn truly KNOWS HIM, the real him. He knows the man behind the facade of pride and stubborness, the man who masks his kindness under ridiculous excuses. He loves that man. Tharn’s loyalty and understanding are exactly what Type needs because it gives him the opportunity to confide in him, a person who won’t judge him and can accept everything. And that’s when Tharn lets it all out and falls apart while subconsciously clutching at Tharn’s arm for support.

He looks as if he were somewhere else, his eyes unfocused, lost in the terrible memory of his past and he doesn’t hide anything from Tharn, showing him all the pain and suffering, fear and disgust, the tears and sobs. His confession is raw and utterly brutal, he doesn’t held back. When Type says he couldn’t fight back, Tharn immediately gets off him and sits by his side so Type isn’t reminded of the experience. When he hears Type’s hands were bound, he encloses his wrists in his own hands as if to chase away the invisible binds. And when Type refers to their encounter in the shower, the words feel like a punch in Tharn’s gut and his guilt is almost palpable.

Tharn doesn’t show pity to Type, the emotions in his eyes are something else entirely. The whole time he listens to Type recollecting the details of the chilliing experience Tharn looks at him with a combination of heartwrenching love, sympathy, utter horror and sheer despair. As he gets baraged by Type’s tormented words, Type’s pain becomes his pain because it hurts to learn that the person he loves so dearly had to go though something so terrible.

What guts me the most are the moments when Type looks up to Tharn as if were asking him for absolution that he couldn’t have saved himself, that he did everything he could and continues to share horrifying details of what happened because once the dam of memories broke he can’t stop it until Tharn stops him because he can no longer can bear to see Type suffer. And when Tharn apologizes and Type answers there is nothing he has to apologize for, it means so damn much. Also, can we talk about the fact that Tharn even accepts Type’s hate for him and tells him it’s OK to hate him and despite his words about hating Tharn, Type keeps holding on Tharn, losing himself in his embrace, as if his touch had somehow the power to heal him?!
On TharnType Nov 3, 2019
Title TharnType
Type’s pride and stubborn attitude tend to drive people away, even the ever understanding Techno has had enough and when he leaves, Type grows utterly dejected. And that’s the exact moment when Tharn arrives and you can literally see how afraid Type is because he knows his roommate must have already learned about the whole debacle. However, instead of telling Type what he did wrong or what he should do, Tharn asks him whether he’s okay and how he can help him and that makes Type actually confide in someone for the first time since the scandal began and let out everything he kept bottled up until now, all the frustration, anger, worries and pain. And it’s telling that it’s Tharn of all people who has this effect on him, this person he claims to hate, and no one else.

He slowly starts unburden himself in front of Tharn and when he asks him on whose side he is, deep down, he wishes this man were on his side but at the same time Type is almost daring him to say what a terrible person he is because deep down he hates and blames himself. When he sighs that he deserves everything that’s happening for insulting Tharn, it’s so forlorn and resigned and vulnerable. Tharn’s heart is literally breaking for him here. I don’t say it often enough but these two actors have been firing all cylinders in the acting department since the very beginning, especially Gulf Kanawut. Unlike most BL drama, these two are genuine actors not a couple of pretty boys looking cute and reciting their lines.

“You’ll get infected with narrow-minded disease.”

It’s such a little moment, barely noticeable, but so damn significant because when Tharn catches Type’s arms, Type does’t even flinch or try to get away from it, instead he basically warns Tharn that it’s his touch, not Tharn’s, that is toxic and that’s the complete reversal of everything Type’s being saying until recently, all that homophobic talk. He’s basically saying to Tharn that he is the one who is bad, not him and that he doesn’t deserve his kindness.

“Can you make everyone on this earth straight?”

Of course, he would ask that. It’s almost as if Type wanted Tharn to hate him, constantly wondering how he can be so nice to him when he keeps being so mean. And Tharn’s smile is so sad and resigned because he can never change that part of himself, even for Type, it would be like carving his own heart out or cutting off his legs, It’s an integral piece of him and he doesn’t even want to because when he tells Type that he will always like man, he is talking about Type and it’s something he doesn’t ever want to give up.

Amen! You've perfectly described my opinion on all of those dramas. I was bored to death by SOTUS and the same…
I think that no matter how objective you try to be TV series are art in the end and you either like them or not. It must somehow speak to you, there are many factors which affect your opinion, and as with liking something or someone there is always something illogical about it and therefore very subjective. It's normal that people don't like the same things. I don't really go into sections which belong to the shows I dislike and diss them because I have limited amount of free time and I want to spend it on the things I like. That's why I'm here and I'm glad to meet other people who love this drama the way I do, including you :-)

The good thing about TharnType is that it is a Thai BL series that I really look forward to on Tuesday in my timezone.…
Amen! You've perfectly described my opinion on all of those dramas. I was bored to death by SOTUS and the same goes for DBK and I had such huge expectations of that one. The story, relationships and characters are so static and it doesn't move foward at all. And considering it's supposed to be romantic, it actually lacks any sort of romance or hint of physical longing.

I stopped counting how many times I rewatched each episode of TharnType and each time I discover something new, some new detail, some new little expressions worth a million words,... It's very dynamic and layered and suberbly acted.

Some people argue that Type asking Tharn to have sex with him comes out of nowhere and that it’s too rushed; however, nothing can be further from the truth. It comes after almost 4 hours of screen time that, unlike most BL dramas where it’s divided among several OTPs and characters, almost exclusively belonged to the development of Tharn’s and Type’s relationship and their characters. As a viewer, I’m grateful there is finally a drama solely focusing at only one OTP and I don’t have to deal with side stories of a bunch of minor characters and their mothers because in TharnType the side characters exist only to enhance the storyline of the main couple and are seamlessly intergrated into it. Some comments claim it feels slightly rushed because they cut out some scenes from the novels but they really haven’t cut out that much - for example, they cut out one blowjob because the shower scene alone delivered the same impact. Some say that they cut out the character’s inner thoughts but I don’t really think so. The drama merely employs different means to express and convey them - background music, facial expressions, body language… Inner monologues don’t work for live action adaptations, the second season of Hanadan used that and it was a complete disaster. And there are of course some changes caused by the fact that some things which work in a book don’t work in a TV show and vice versa. Every adaption cuts out some scenes, just look at the LOTR and the Scouring of the Shire. Moreover, it’s the author of the novel herself who makes all the editing and changes so she definitely knows what she’s doing. And after I read the few translated chapters, I slightly prefer the drama over the novel, actually.

It’s important to realize Tharn’s and Type’s relationship doesn’t start from a scratch when they come to a sort of truce after Tharn cared for Type when he’s ill. Before all the misunderstanding and hate, they used to be good friends - the whole story actually starts with Type waxing lyrical about how handsome and kind Tharn is. Moreover, the audience gets to see a glimpse of their first meeting and it’s clear they immediately liked each other; and even if in Type’s case it wasn’t a romantic affection, Tharn was still a dear friend to him. These feelings didn’t go anywhere, they haven’t disappeared overnight. They have been merely hidden behind the fear-driven hate because the truth is Type has never stopped liking Tharn, in fact, their misunderstanding and new situation only drew him closer to his roommate and made him like him more. The same goes for Tharn.

It all happened gradually and almost every moment in those 4 hours has been building up towards this; every single scene is integral to the story and is interconnected to all the others. That’s how complex and well-thought-out the development of their relationship is.

One of the mistakes that some people make while watching TharnType The Series is that they narrowly focus only on the intimate scenes and Type’s refusals without paying any attention to the context and that they push on Type their preconceived notions and biases what he should be like and how he should behave as a victim of a sexual assault, instead of seeing the person he actually is and acts. They don’t take his real character into consideration, a character which the writer and the actor both painstakingly build-up and portray because it’s so vital in explaining Type’s actions and decisions.

Type is a really good person, brave and loyal to people he loves, but he is also proud, extremely self-reliant, stubborn as hell and there are times he couldn’t be honest with himself or his friends even if his life depended on it. These character traits have been apparent since the very beginning and it doesn’t matter whether he shares scenes with Tharn, his friends or other people because Type’s behaviour is consistent in all those cases - he never asks for help even when gravely ill, is in constant denial, tends to lie to save his face, is never honest, he is grateful but his pride prevents him from saying “thank you” and therefore he expresses his gratitute in a very roundabout ways so he wouldn’t look weak,… All those scenes are included there for a reason, a very good reason - they show Type’s major character flaws, which to some degree stem from what happened to him when he was a child, and which he slowly, gradually learns to overcome. I think Techno really managed to sum up Type’s issues perfectly:

“Just saying “sorry” won’t hurt your pride…I don’t know how to help you anymore. No this. No that. No nothing. You keep saying frickin’ “NO!” to everything.”

Type consistently exhibits them throughout the whole story, they’ve been in plain sight the whole time, but I love how the writer basically spells it out even for the more obtuse viewers. The thing is that with a person like Type you can’t take things he says at a face value but need to put them into perspective with his actions which almost all the time belie his words. However, there are these rare moments when he isn’t able to deny the truth any longer and says out loud what he feels which are extremely powerful and confirm everything Gulf Kanawut manages so flawlessly portray with his acting. The actor isn’t paid to recite “yes”, “no” or “let me go”, even a parrot could do that, but to express complex emotions both verbally and non-verbally, which he does.

“He is so good that it makes me ashamed of hating him.”

Deep inside, Type might still be the little boy who never fully dealt with his trauma, but he is not a helpless child nor a victim anymore. He is a tall, strapping adult man and sports major (and I suspect the reason behind it is that sportsmen are considered strong) who is as tall Tharn and while slightly leaner, almost as muscular. He has the strength and ability to fight Tharn off and defend himself if he wanted to and make his own decisions; he could have kicked, screamed and cried for help since the walls at dormitories are paper thin; he could have moved away any time and live with Champ, he had that option almost since the very beginning; he could have stopped Tharn’s nightly vigils at his bedside - but he did not do any of those things. Why?

“When people hate someone or something, they don’t want to be near them.”

Because despite everything he says, he doesn’t hate Tharn. Because he feels safe with him, because he actually enjoys his closeness and likes him. Just the fact alone that Type never took a serious step to move away speaks volumes about how he really feels and the amount of trust he has for Tharn. People change roommates at dormitories for much less (and Champ and his medical student roommate who studies deep into the night is the perfect example). With Type, actions truly speak louder than words because there is always this dichotomy between what he says and what he actually does (and truly feels), just like in real life where there is a lot of things which is expressed non-verbally or by implicature. These character flaws and weaknesses make from Type a very realistic and relatable character and dramaland really needs more characters and stories that are as complex like Type and TharnType The Series. Do real people always say what they mean? No. They hide lie, pretend, fib, equivocate, bluff, banter, use irony, tell half-truths and rarely say everything what they mean due to various reasons.

People also don’t consider that each person reacts to trauma differently and the drama does a brilliant job in underlying this fact by including Tar’s storyline which serves as a parallel to Type, as both men went through a similar, horrid experience of sexual assault. While Tar is so traumatized that he abhors everyone’s touch, with the exception of his own family, fears even his own shadow and spends most of his time hiding in the darkness of his room, Type isn’t afraid to touch most people, have friends, even had sex. It doesn’t mean that one of them is weaker than the other, Type’s scars merely manifest themselves differently.

Title TharnType
THE SHOWER SCENE 100% GORGEOUS!!!!!!

Seriously, I stopped counting how many times I rewatched it. The whole moment feels so exquisitely intimate, real and gentle and perfect on so many different levels I don’t even know where to begin. The whole time, the focus of the camera is on Type because this entire experience is all about him, about his enjoyment, his release. Tharn doesn’t really expect anything in return, caring only about Type’s pleasure. Tharn might have initiated the encounter but it was Type who allowed it happen. At first, he might have been hindered by trepidations, his hesitation stemming from embarrassment and doubts but those quickly disappeared as he’s being seduced by Tharn’s tender coaxing, featherlight kisses and tender caresses.

If Type truly wanted him to stop he could have done it anytime he wanted. He’s free to choose and reject Tharn’s ministrations whenever he wants and he know it - that Tharn isn’t pressuring him, restraining or trapping him and that’s gives him the courage to give in to his own wants and needs. You barely notice it but, for most of the time, Tharn doesn’t touch Type with his hands at all, keeping them against the wall. He uses his mouth almost exclusively. You almost get the sense that he is afraid he might lose control if he touched him too much. It’s actually Type who is embracing him, holding onto him for support and touching everywhere in reciprocation.

There is something so aching innocent and heartfelt when Type ever so slightly and shyly puckers his lips in response to Tharn’s kisses or about Tharn’s moist kisses and reverent touches and the gentle way he treats Type as he were made of glass.

It looks like Type is really a sensory person because since beginning he always like to inhale Type’s scent, when he had him pinned to the bed or from the pillow, and now again it seems like he wants to breathe in Type’s very essence and now he actually gets to taste him.

And there is that final moment, during the post-coital bliss when Type is complely drown by the immense pleasure and utterly relaxed. There is this look of absolute wonder, as if he couldn’t believe what have just happened or how something could feel this amazing. And then, Tharn leans in for a kiss and for a split second Type readily gives in, looking at Tharn’s lips with his eyes half closed, until he gets a hold on himself.

Also, the look on Tharn’s face afterwards - it’s like the embodiment ‘I can’t believe it’ giddiness. Futhermore, all Type did to him for blowing him was that adorable tower slap when the tough and violent Type could have brought the wrath of heaven down on him but didn’t because behind all that denial he actually likes him.
