My 2-cents worth on this all and I agree with some of you too.
1. CSS - she's headstrong in terms of protecting the ones she cares about -- which includes the Empress' feelings/situation she was in. She's doing her best to cheer her up and another thing is the Emperor put her in-charge of the birthday celebration for the Empress. Hence why she can't stay away from the East Palace. Therefore, I don't know if Lin Buiyi knows that his soon to be wife is in-charge of that. Actually, CSS didn't want to be in-charge of this big birthday celebration - but being convinced by the Emperor & Empress to do so, she has no choice but to abide by it.
2. CSS - revenge taken at the memorial celebrations - well, the princess that didn't like her cause problems to her first on that day - by blowing the "ashes into her face" and making fun of her. CSS didn't like it at all and hence took the opportunity to get back at her....as a result lead to bigger problems - as the princess' red dress underneath was revealed and the "fake coin" problem got raise - b/c everyone wanted to know (including the Emperor/Empress/Consort Yue how she got so much more money to spend on lavish things - like that red dress she was wearing underneath the white mourning clothes that she was wearing before it got burn by the candles that fell ontop with her,
3. CSS - encouragement to the Crown Prince - she may be naive as to the whole palace situation (b/c nobody cares to explain it to her) -- she just didn't want to see him sad b/c she's the type of person who show concerns for those who "care" for her in return. Yes, there may be future consequences in the near future of the story -- which will make her realize this. But in the moment - without proper guidance -- "she will continue to work her way around the palace politics" as she sees fit. Her simple mindset now is in some ways due to how she had to "fight for herself" all these years without her parents until recently. Hence why the relationship b/w her parents & her are not always good. She has been abandoned as a baby and nobody to truly defend for her except herself all these years. Nobody seriously understands what she went through too - being bullied & whatnot. So, when sees something wrong in her persepective she will fight for it and put the so-called situation right in her own way. Whether good/bad in the future.
4. CSS & LBY relationship - I feel that there's a lot problem between them -- that I feel the relationship is not exactly going to go well. LBY may feel that he loves her & what he's doing is for her is correct. But the way he said that to her in the end of ep 32 is plain not right/fair to say that to her. CSS - what she said to him is also true - what he said to her is not completely fair/clear to her at all. Hence why she is upset with him. He keeps on hiding the truths from her - including his revenge/the details of the imperial palace politics. He left her to sink/swim in the deep end of a "invisible pool" with no clear way of guidance/help. Rather more criticism and lack of true understanding of her true intentions - is not helping her at all. CSS was right. He's completely not trusting her, keeping her in the dark and leaving her - to fend for herself. When she try to do her way of things as she is -- he gets upset and mad at her. This is where any relationships will fail - b/c of lack of honest & true communication (coming clean with the truth) with one another. His actions/words hurt her -- b/c to her...the way he said them sounds like her mom - when her mom thinks she done something wrong and critcizes/punishes her for it. She again feels like she's not being loved by him too when he kept saying "stay away from the East Palace/stay away from the palace politics"... But how can she do that -- when she's to marry him? She doesn't want any of it. She just wants a simple life without all these mess.
5. I feel there's a possibility that the 2 will break up eventually down the road -- b/c they don't see eye to eye on certain things and esp when LBY is set on "to take his revenge and be away for a period of time". I also feel that she will be engaged once again - but this time to Yuan Shen - b/c he's the 3 guy to be in love with her too (secretively all these years) as who knows what will happen with LBY.
6. As for the ending of the story - (I never read the book) - it may be good or it may be bad/sad ending. Not sure if the 2 leads will be together in the end or not.

Well, YD and Yumo met each other and now together. Yumo gave her the same seal that she gave him when she was in Heavenly Realm. They are considered a married couple (sort of -- Mountain clan leaders) -- although YD admit she rather be his follower instead of truly married to him but they did sign a 100 year contract. Not sure if will affect the relationship later on with YY and her.
When Yumo met YD, she of course don't remember him. Funny thing is that he renamed her from Beautiful Bai to Yan Dan (her original name -- which she had when she was in heaven with him). The celestial turtle that YY kept on flipping in Heaven is actually Zi Ling! Yumo recognized him once he stated the facts in front of both YD and him. What's even funnier is when Zi Ling said to Yumo to tell YD don't tell others what he is -- but YD doesn't care and goes off shouting out the truth to all in the Mountain realm. I think this is YD carefree time -- full of humor, silliness and laughter. This is more like YD that I know.
As for YY, as soon as he goes down the mountain - as a Taoist...strangely he was attacked on the spot in the process - so fast. If he didn't leave the mountains, he wouldn't be attacked. Hence when he lost more power/memories along with it. Lu Ming had to fake his death in order to protect him while YY is the Mortal Realm. Sad way to go about it, but that's the only way to keep him alive for a while longer - while seeking the 4 Divine Artifacts that's supposed help him complete his time in the mortal realm faster so he can return to the Heavenly Realm instead as the Sovernign Lord of the Heavenly Kingdom.
Aside from that -- when the 2 did meet - YY and YD - they sorta have some sort of connection at first glance but that was short lived. YD as usual tricked him and ran away with the other "Flower Spirits" that she rescued from the bottle that YY was used to capturing the bad spirits in the Mortal World.
Haha, Yumo rushing to the flower spirit mountain area to find YD...and on his way he knocked over the carriage where she was. So, when he arrived at the central area of the flower spirit mountain - of course she wasn't there at that time. Yumo seems to miss her by minutes always - whether he was tracking her down at the playwright area (she took one of Yumo's horses...hahaha and took off) -- and when he arrived at the other place where she was -- again wrong timing too. Either he was one step too late or too fast. He seems to miss catching up with her. :P
Plus so funny was the fact the fishes he created with his powers to track her, YD -- she in the end ate them. That's why he can't keep up with her. Oops! :P
wow, I finished this drama in half the day! It was definitely worth watching! Definitely not what you expect the drama to be!! Needs a season 2 with the two main leads together again!! I think the 2nd male lead was reasonable too! But please don't put in the character -- Song Ruo Yun in it. She's super annoying! Makes me wanna throw her out the window. She was originally stabbed by the main ML but somehow she's alive again - not injured or dead...like a pest that can't seem to get lost fast enough.
So far, the drama is good. TBH - CSS's life has been a huge mess - in survival mode all the time. Nobody completely understands her in the family - except possibly her brothers/father. Her mother is completely ruthless and don't know how to treat her daughter that she left behind all these years properly. What CSS went through in the past - esp those kids that she thought about - who taunted her about being abandoned by her parents or saying she stole things...made her who she is now in the story. To have a so-called mother who treats her like a military personnel isn't the correct way to love your child - that's hurting her even more and pushing away CSS from her too. I think it's totally ridiculous and the wrong way to approach a child who have never seen her parents for so many years.
I don't care if her mother's way of thinking that CSS should not marry LY is right or wrong - the way she implies it to her was very rude/inappropriate. Just b/c she knows LY isn't good for her to go to (family background wise) -- doesn't mean she should force her to do something she doesn't like to do. Let her be -- let her find out who she really loves on her own. No need to demand/put your own ways - thinking on her. She doesn't deserve to be treated that way.
As to when CSS and LBY will be together - I think it will be some time before she will realize her true feelings b/w the two of them eventually. But at the moment - she doesn't see or feel that LBY is someone she'll fall in love with yet. She only sees him as someone -- like a hero who comes to rescue her or other times in some sticky situations. More or less -- LY has been there with her in some of the more important times than LBY had been. As LBY comes in/out of her life very quickly. As some may say he's trying to get her attention/court her. But she doesn't feel the same way about it. Besides CSS did mentioned that she doesn't want to be someone who has killed people or have to make her wait - in order to be together. So far -- LY does fit her better in her terms at the moment.
Anyhow - we'll have to wait & see. I've never read the novel before - nor watched any trailers of the drama. Since in total there will be 50+ episodes (both season 1 & 2 put together) -- I think it will take time for her to know where her heart eventually will be with. No need to rush it. Let the story unreveal itself bit by bit.
So, I just finished ep 17 and the ending of it was as confusing as ever...only 1 episode left...not sure how it will end as a complete drama -- i have a feeling it may be a rushed ending or will be a sad ending in the end. Not too sure right now.
Well, I finally finished watching it. Overall, it was good. I don't like to compare this one over the Korean one. To each it's own. All the actors/actresses in both versions are decent enough to watch it all. There are some sweet/angst/funny/serious moments in this version of the drama too. Although at times I did find this story's FL a bit too obvious of her pretending to be robot - than did the Korean version did. But who knows...may be they wanted the ML to find out quicker than the other one did. Either way - both versions ended well and that's fine with me. :) Well done everyone!
To be honest -- after watching this drama - I still feel like Gao Yang and Li Ming Che should be better match and Yan Li & Huang Yan Nan are better together. I just don't see much proper chemistry between the 2 main leads. Yan Li always critcizes her or say hurtful words including insulting her dad whom he had never met -- but indirectly has a relationship b/c his mom was connected to Gao Yang's dad many ages ago. Super rare to even see Yan Li really supports her in what she does. Puts so much retrictions on her life - including curfews, what she can or cannot do, etc. If I were Gao Yang, I'd rather choose Li Ming Che - b/c he's really supportive her in many ways and cares for her more than Yan Li did. Other than that it's nice to see Gao Yang change and improve herself in many ways after her dad's went bankrupt. Her so-called friends back then are all garbage. The ones she has now - that connects her with Li Ming Che is so much better. Especially, Wang Xiao Zai. Althought at first they both seem at odd with each other -- but over time their friendships/coworker relationship is so much better than ever. Well, anyways, that's my 2 cents on this drama. I feel the 2nd leads deserves to be with the main FL more than the main ML does. I mean the ML just at the end forces somewhat into her life again and she goes and likes him back. To me it really doesn't make sense. I felt the ending was also quite rushed too. It really doesn't do it justice.

It was an amazing drama -- both seasons are beautifully done! And in this season it made me cry a lot!! Wished they didn't cut out so much stuff from it. But glad that they both in the end had a happy ending though!! Great job everyone!
