I'm glad many people have finally gotten a change to see her in action. One of my favorites and a great actress. If you want to watch her previous dramas I suggest, Love Lost in Times, Sound of the Desert, and Scarlet Heart. Please note only those with a strong heart should watch Scarlet Heart.
The only reason why I am slightly interested in this, is because I enjoyed I'm a Pet at the Dali Temple. I wonder if they'll do a similar story, or will it just be about them solving crimes and capturing monsters and defeating evil.
Can't people just pay their taxes?? Especially in China? Ughh...
Something else has to be going on, there are so many actors and actresses that are blacklisted for "tax evasion", and it hasn't gotten better over the years, it's gotten worse.
I swear if I read another actor/actress is accused of tax evasion I'm going to lose it. Thinking about it, I wonder if there's another reason why this happens so often.
Whoever wrote the summary of this story must use translation. It does not make sense at all.
It's written like those descriptions in the back of a novel, slightly poetic. I checked novelupdates and it's practically the same synopsis for the webnovel., so that's why it sounds like that. That being said, I can understand it, slightly disappointed though.
It seems like the ML, is an ancient god who gone missing. FL is a 1000 year old something something who is wounded in a battle and crashes down in to the mortal. Most likely she meets ML there; probably the person that found her and then the slow revelation of their past? It's a familiar story, but I can't wait to watch it!
Actually, I'll take back my comment (but I'll leave it here). I didn't watch Kunning Palace, but I looked at the photos and she does look slightly like Zhao Lusi. Perhaps it's the makeup they used? I'll close mouth and not say anything else that will get me in trouble.
I don't know why there are people who hate yang chaoyue and emotionally say her acting is bad, comparing her to…
No idea, I was interested in her career since EverNight. I have noticed negative comments and then I watch the drama and can't seem to understand if I watched the same drama as the people that hate her. Maybe it's me?
I've been watching dramas since 1999 and she's definitely better than a majority of other actress at the same time in their career (IMO), hopefully she can overcome it.
That being said, it seems like she gets the leftover dramas that other actresses don't want. They don't want them for a reason, but she takes them anyways. Damsels in distress, or powerful characters that just are given titles and no real power are all the parts she's been in lately. (fantasy dramas) Basically "old-school" roles that people today don't really like but was popular back in the day. I just did a check and the only two that I could recommend are:
Love You Seven Times (you'll have to push through half the drama before it's actually good, she does good in this, but the editing and directing are not good)
Dance of the Phoenix (good start but then the story just sputters then gets better (felt like actually reading a web novel) but then ends with a cliffhanger that will never be completed, I guess.
I've watched other dramas that she stars in and they aren't too good, so I'm assuming some people put the blame on her, rather than the ML... (when it's not either of their faults) But that's just my 2 cents. I meant this to be really short, but I guess I had to let it out.
Just checked the synopsis of My Dear Boy.... (gonna pass)
I enjoyed my time, this half of the year has been pretty rough for dramas to watch IMO, so many disappointments, so it was good to watch an older style drama. Sure the editing, graphics, and other things might not been up the par, but it had a good story and most actors acted their part well. I wouldn't watch it again, but if you like this style drama it has plenty of characters, good looking people, action scenes, powerups, and evil to be conquered. I don't think it deserves it's rating, since it was more entertaining than a lot of other dramas with higher ratings, but taking into account the age it would've been rated a lot higher.
Edit: I just finished it and it ends on a cliffhanger, however I think it's assumed that you know about the story of Wukong. In the beginning we saw the Abbott so I you can estimate how the story continues. The only issue I have is what happens to the rest of the characters, maybe there is a conclusion for them in the original story of Wukong, but I'm not familiar with it.
Looks great but not a fan of Chinese fantasy movie or series. The IMDB scores is high too and with good reviews…
I've watched many Chinese movies and I've pretty much stopped and just stuck to the drama series. This movie is actually worth the watch. I'm going to watch the next two also.
