Why is the audio so bad ??? 😭I really did enjoy this, but I've got various complaints. But the highlight of…
Also I do not like the sister. Weird and creepy. Also she's just shitty, don't invade people's privacy and then say your brother should respect your privacy when he's reading the RPF you wrote about him 💀 I hate her dude
The first (actual) kiss between Yiwon and Ji-Oh is 10/10 for me. It's one of my favorite set ups for a kiss (the…
... So, as for this being an adaptation; Yiwon and Ji-Oh are great. They pull off the dynamic that Zon and Saifah had but it still feels fresh. I might be biased though because I really liked Ji-Oh lol he brought all the things I loved about Saifah (being kind of an asshole but then totally becoming a puppy out of nowhere and staying a love-struck sad puppy with no resurfacing of the assholery) but felt a bit cooler. Maybe I just liked how he dressed more lol the stylists gave him preferential treatment and I'm happy, he looks great. You know who doesn't ?? Yugyeom. That's not true, but his country-club looking golf dad looking sweater tied around his neck pissed me off more than it should have. He's a beautiful man but that is a look that no one pulls off. So, as for Fighter -> Yugyeom? Bad. Fighter was an asshole, but he was charming in how big of an asshole he was. He sucked and was mean, but in a cool guy way. Classic bad-boy shit. Yugyeom? He's a nice guy, and that makes him worse because he's also kind of shitty? At least we're led to believe that because he never cares to share that his relationship with Doyeon is fake, so he just seems to suck while putting on a nice persona. An asshole who pretends to be nice is much worse than an asshole who is unabashed. This also screwed up the narrative of why Sunwoo would dislike Yugyeom. Idk, the writing was all over the place with those two as if they expected us to fill in the blanks but gave us no blanks to fill in.
In the original, Fighter and Tutor were my favorite. I loved Saifah and Zon, but Tutor and Fighter were more interesting to me. This show flips that around and alters it because Yiwon and Ji-Oh are my favorite and I don't much care for Yugyeom and Sunwoo. They could've been cute if the writing had been better. And look, I get that changes must be made in an adaptation but to completely throw out one characters entire personality while keeping everyone else's? Idk, it didn't work for me.
But overall I enjoyed the show, even if I didn't care about the second couple, I was very happy with Yiwon and Ji-Oh (other than some frustrating repetitiveness, but their tension made up for it so it's fine)

The first (actual) kiss between Yiwon and Ji-Oh is 10/10 for me. It's one of my favorite set ups for a kiss (the sike you out thinking it'll be a tame brief thing and then fully commit) and they did a great job with it again, 10/10. And their following kisses as well. Honestly, I don't have many complaints about them other than things that tie into my complaints about the series as a whole which is the disjointed writing. For this part I'll separate it from the original but I'll do another comment where I talk about that. The biggest issue with this is Yugyeom and Sunwoo. How are they gonna have it be that their first significant moment is Sunwoo confessing? They gave us no reason to believe these two liked each other a lot. Maybe that they would eventually, but from what we saw we saw the flirting stage that went away because it turned into a win-you-back plot where it's confusing cause ??? How you gonna win back someone you never had? Idk, I was majorly disappointed with them and that might be because I expected better thanks to the original...

i just started to watch this drama and I am confused, can somebody tell me here , who is fighter and tutor ? and…
Yugyeom and Sunwoo are Fighter and Tutor, but I definitely recommend separating it from the original as much as you can. They completely overhaul the character of Fighter so the couples dynamic is also changed. That being said, Yiwon and Ji-Oh are pretty close to Zon and Saifah, clearly with changes but you can tell it's based off them. I liked them a lot in this.
Obsessed with Nawin, he's my favorite character. Total piece of shit, super stupid, I love him.
Also ended up liking Thaenthai a lot?? His character development 😍 from running over a child in ep 1 to saying "I'm sorry I was born" to getting himself on the no fly list just so he can stay with his bf. King behavior. (this is a joke, ik he didn't kill the kid) Was it super inconsistent with him? Yes. Maybe he's just a great actor cause him totally not caring about the girl dying when at the scene and then saying he felt nothing when she died was apparently not true? Idk, they redeemed him by overriding everything they showed lol but it worked, him and Thee were very cute. Love Thee, also. Also yay wlw mlm solidarity! I love Silvy 😭 Maya and Rose were SO lovely I'm obsessed with them. The main characters were okay ig. Charn totally ate, he's such a bitch in a slay way. Total piece of garbage in episode 1 (he rlly said "omg you're so cute when youre upset about your 12 y/o niece dying" 💀) but he gets better ig 🤷♀️ love his crazed smile, fuckin spooky. But idk, Tinn just irritated me sometimes? No specific reason ig but i just didn't like him nearly as much as everyone else. His grandma is a total legend though, love her
back to say I watched it again and I still love it 10/10 (spiritually) I'll admit it's got plenty of shortcomings…
"I have a distinguished sense of taste and my critique of a show is formed around how well crafted the storyline is paired with acting prowess and creative cinematography" lies, Choi Jun pretty = show good
Bro I'm obsessed with Choi Jun. He's so charismatic and beautiful, and does some of the most outlandish shit.…
I forgot to add: I was a little upset with Lee Jun towards the middle conflict but I actually did get frustrated and mad at Choi Jun bc babes how tf are you gonna say to the man you're in love with "oh yeah she's my fiancee" and then be confused as to why he's upset ???? Lee Jun had every right to be angry/hurt cause that would be so confusing!
I did think it was funny tho when he was being a bitch to Hyunjae (saying about the handkerchief "Mm it suits you. It's tacky.") and Hyunjae was just like "lol did u guys fight?" Chillest mfer around lmao unbothered legend. But like bro Choi Jun really pulls out the Mean Girl when he's jealous 😂
The secondary duo (can't really call them a couple) was interesting. I did love that they had Choi Jun take on…
The whole idol thing isn't really that necessary and they glossed over it, but also I'm prone to forgiving this kind of stuff because it didn't cause any issues or make me incredibly curious without and resolution. I appreciate that this isn't ridiculously short and really shows how much better these series can be when given enough time, but I still think they could have done with even more time since there was some stuff that felt underdeveloped.
I also love Hyunjae though, he's a great character cause he's very warm and nice but as you can see when Simeon tells him to knock off the fake smile, it's not all there is to him. I think that makes him even better, because his natural disposition might be less outgoing, but he chooses to be kind. I love all his smiles when everything is going on around him. I'm a little confused on whether he truly was in love with Lee Jun or not. It's stated that he is, but it seems like he wasn't really that invested in him romantically as he never got upset by Choi Jun's antics.
Speaking of Lee Jun, I liked his development. They give a little show of it at the end with him perfectly listing off the coffee order, but it's seen throughout the show too. He starts off not knowing what to do at the job at all, but he slowly finds his own way of working and applying his expertise and I like that. I never got the vibe that he only got to stay there because of special treatment, he earned his keep as much as anyone else.
Oh, the whole smell thing kinda got forgotten I think. They could've had a callback to it in the last episode, since it was so prevalent earlier on that they both really liked the smell of one another. And the childhood friends thing didn't get much exploration but tbh I kind of enjoy that, it's focusing on who they are as people now and not some idealized version from the past.
