Something that I am loving in this series is how different emotionally charged scenes will take place in the same locations, but have a completely different impact. Like all of their interactions in WSW's office. I also can’t get over CC sitting in his old apartment, eating at the kitchen counter between YY and his mom, where he previously had a hot almost makeout session with WSW - just completely mundane and tuned out to the conversation in front of him (and probably imagining WSW).

Or in episode 6, where CC and WSW had an intense physical scene on the couch, and then later, a more intimate conversation in the same room, sitting on the floor with their backs to the couch with CC opening up for the first time about his past.

Or episodes 6 and 9 and the differences in how WSW and CC sleep beside each other on his bed.

I like the contrast in revisiting a location and seeing different scenarios play out there, or being reminded of what happened previously bleeding into the impact of a new scene.

And honorable mention to seeing certain actions repeat and play out in a different context - like how CC moves on his knees towards WSW who is inching backwards freaking out into the headboard on his bed in Episode 5 vs Episode 11/12 when they repeat the same movements in playful anticipation when they finally do the deed.

To me, Episode 8 is the most consistently strong episode from beginning to end - and the final scene of them cuddling on the couch, going through a range of emotions where you can see how much they are starting to mean to each other while the Paper Swans In Your Eyes song was playing just clutched at my heart.

I enjoy pretty much all of the WSW/CC scenes in the series - and episodes 5, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 are fun to rewatch for sweet/fun moments. The kiss scene in Episode 11 is definitely up there, along with the Episode 13 pool scene and Episode 14 New Years scene.

He definitely suffers from insecurity. Thinking back to his drunken fears in Episode 10 - deep down, he doesn’t believe that he is loveable, especially not for his authentic self.

I think people must not be used to seeing a relationship devolve after a meet-cute courtship, where most series’ would end once they first get together.

Personally, I appreciate dramas with flawed characters who continue to make flawed decisions and then watching the consequences unfold as they continue to act in character.

CC was introduced in Episode 1 in a dark place emotionally and with a dark past . WSW suffers from feelings of insecurity and years being taken advantage of, just now trying to create a new persona for himself. Watching them navigate the obstacles thrown at them, and their own internal battles, will be rewarding, in the long run.

Stories need adversity, or there is no where to go.

Re-watching episode 11, it actually sets the stage for how WSW is withdrawing and almost accepting defeat so quickly after seeing the CC/WS kiss. When he learned from XS that WS was coming back, he just assumed CC would get back together with him - he never asked directly - just suffered in his own paranoia. Now, he is repeating the same behaviour. So, it is not out of character.

I think those scenes are being saved for later - after a reunion. When watching, I do get the sense that the director is trying to not have repetitive scenes between the Main Couple, and instead focuses on different ways to explore their intimacy.

It’s like with the escalation in the intensity of kisses in earlier episodes (peck, kiss, makeout etc…), they are teasing with showing a picture, cut shots, the before and after conversations ….

We are definitely in ann area that is pre-breakup, so things need to fall apart between the couple despite their best intentions so when the final straw hits - it make sense that they would separate - after the happiness that we saw in 13 and 14

Probably because before, he hadn’t slept with CC yet - he thought he needed that certificate to stake his claim. But, now that he has and he thinks CC is still looking to go back to his ex , WW is just feeling hurt and betrayed and maybe ashamed. I don’t know I haven’t watched this episode yet!

It’s when Chi Cheng first pushes him down onto the bed - that clip is used on YT and Viki and then When he removes the t-shirt (only the view is from behind the curtain). It looks like there were two cameras filming that scene simultaneously.

It’s interesting because if you compare the scenes, that specific take actually does make it into the episode final version, but parts of it are cut out. I definitely wonder if the were filming more of the scenes based on the script and then there were later decisions on how much footage to actually use. But, I agree that they may have been encouraged on set to play it up and they likely would have known that BTS would be made available to fans.

How do they get back together in the book?

I figured out sorta how to fix the YT subtitles for Episode 12. In the video , click settings and Auto-translate to English subs (instead of the default English option). The scene with the Mom makes a lot more sense - no more Big Dome.

But, there are places where the subtitles don’t show at the same time as speaking, so not perfect. I think the YT subs were better when the Chinese characters were just written and then YT was auto-translating those - but they were removed in Episode 12 for some reason.

Sometimes I think the rating change on MDL is not due to review bombing but a recalibration from the site itself. This happened with Eighth Sense and Semantic Error - the majority of ratings for these shows are 9+ by a wide margin, but the system shows a score closer to 8 or 8.2 because a lot of 10 scores are discounted and excluded from the tally. The drop from 9 to 8.6 within 1 hour could have been a similar recalibration.

Ok that new BTS is pretty cute…

Hopefully it just means that they might make some changes to the air dates. Like dropping four episodes in a week.

Eek! What a crazy situation. But, I don’t understand why “fans” could treat someone so horribly. Certainly, attacks like this are not going to raise the likelihood of a show continuing.
