It's really mind boggling to me why this show is so highly rated...I've tried watching it a year ago and I tried…
It picks up in episode 3 and 4 and then just gets progressively better and better. I dropped it after episode 2 a year ago then tried again after snow sword stride. It didn’t take long before I became obsessed and couldn’t stop watching.
Episode 11 is the beginning of a descent into tragedy that becomes more emotionally arresting with each episode.…
So great to read your update! When I first watched the Untamed I had no idea where it was heading (other than thinking the man character would turn into a villain based on the opening 10 minutes). I remember breezing through the first 10 episodes and then sitting up at the end of episode 11 when everything started to veer off course into enemy territory, and then steadily onwards through multiple levels of hell. I was not prepared for how invested I became in the characters nor the emotional devastation of the later episodes, when there didnt seem to be any way back from the brink of disaster. I love the later episodes , and appreciate how bold the show was to make you personally go through the tragedy - in episode 34 seeing WWX flashback ok earlier times, I could feel the emotional distance from what he had gone through and the contrast of who he had been - better than if the show had only operated in the present and then did smaller flashbacks to flesh out the background of the story. I enjoyed being taken in the emotional ride.

I still have PTSD from the Untamed. Now I find the early episodes endlessly enjoyable to rewatch - so innocent and carefree before everything just goes so so horribly wrong.
What us the relation between this and Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities ?
One of the main characters in Mirror is a direct descendant from the characters in this, and I think another character appears in both - but as a youth in this prequel.
