Huh? She was 20-21 when he first fell for her, while he was 26-27...they start dating when she is 22 and he is…
Ok, so after that dissertation, why didn't the NRTA block or raise concerns or block the show because of your 'perceived' pedophilia ? Look at you taking the moral high ground lol. Don't tell me about Asian culture and life. I didn't ask you. I very well know it myself. If you can sleep well at night thinking ML was a pedo then be my fucking guest lol. But according to Chinese law, he was NOT.

Give me one example where an actor of clout got away with something that the censor board usually censors. You know, reincarnation, time travel, corruption at the government bureaus..could any drama depict those until now ?

So basically, Hidden Love celebs got away with your version of Pedoness because of their clout. Jackie Chan screwing people. What's next, earth is a triangle ? Bitch please...

He's the epitome of limited and bad acting .I agree with the dubbing issue but some Chinese actors are very good…
You can put a lot to the censorship actually. I do agree there are plenty of good movies coming out of mainland or the territories but I was talking about the commercial ones, or which people across the globe know about. If Zhang Linghe fancies himself deviating towards cinemas, he can do that. Filmmakers after all, take notice from their performance and interests.

Also I think Linghe's best performance was in the story of kunning palace.

A lot of Chinese heavy hitters, actors, appear both in movies and dramas. China has a lot of censorship laws so movies that are globally popular, are either historically accurate depictions approved by the CCP or, they are out of Hong Kong and Taiwan. Media from those two territories don't fall under the Chinese laws. Though nowadays Hong Kong is not that independent anymore like it used to be during the Kung Fu Hustle/Shaolin Soccer/IP Man or those legendary Jackie Chan movies era.

What else I can say which the people haven't said already ? The age of consent in China is 14, and Sang Zhi at the start of the show, is 14. Their relationship remains platonic for a while until it turns romantic when she is 18. China has 500 different censorship laws for drama/movies so any tiny deviation and the show wouldn't air. The CCP did not find it problematic. Sure, people with western standards might find it weird but it is what it is.

is there misunderstanding between the leads? if yes, for how long (episodes)?
There is, and it is somewhat central to the plot, but unlike many other shows, it does not create distance or friction between the leads. Acts as a plot device, catalyst etc at times.

Ep 23... So all the drama was because the ml was disappointed the fl didn't visit him at hospital? What a plot…
To us, it might sound ridiculous but to a person who is in a very dark spot, it might mean something else totally.

The problem with the second ML, his lack of communication and his condescending attitude towards the FL. The whole…
ML will make a 180 in around episode 8. He will get a push and gonna snap out of his unrealistic resentment. Then he will become one of the greenest flags in drama history.

One thing you should know about us humans, that the environment and the type of person you are with, enables you to be expressive, or keep things within you. You will see how open and honest she is with the ML, which is a stark contrast to how she is with the second ML. Yes the FL is capable but you should know that she already confessed, to which the second lead rebuffed. Also when he returned her money with interest, alarm bells went off. So she was not obliged to ask him about his contradicting behavior. It is not hard for us to see that he cares for her. Because we are shown that from various perspectives. Not to her. How the heck is she supposed to know that when his comments to her are always condescending..why are you doing this, that ..so on and so forth. Whenever she did ask him something, his answer were always, 'really ?' 'I don't know.'

Throughout the drama, he never once compliments her to anything. First half is all complaints, superiority complex while on the inside, he suffers from inferiority complex, snarky remarks and second half is all regrets and moping. He had many chances. He didn't take any. As you will see as you watch on.

I'm only at ep 4 right now and I don't get why 2nd ML seems to be hated. I rather feel sorry for him, there is…
The problem with the second ML, his lack of communication and his condescending attitude towards the FL. The whole uni and their dogs knew that there was something between him and Rong and he never bothered to clear that up. All it needed, a few words. Reply a text. If you don't communicate, how in the world would others know what you're thinking ? You will see, the FL will bring all that up later on, if you haven't already. And she sort of went along with it as she was smitten. Until of course, she meets the ML who's on a level playing field as her.

I don't hate the second ML but his nonchalant mysterious judgy attitude didn't help him either. He had 4 gorgeous women interested in him and in the end, he messed up with all of them. His biggest mistake was the assumption that the FL would wait for him for an eternity.

Not 3, I guess a year or two at most. She started working some months after graduation, and Lin saw her at the gala at her final year of the university.

I don't hate the second lead unlike many others do, tho I know he has issues. Anywho, to cleanse your palate, watch Lai Weiming's new web drama, Glaze of love. It's sweet. He's the lead.

What's with the beef and vibe between Jiang Rui and Zhuang Xu in ep 17? Does he know something?
Because the guy has seen his cousin mostly depressed whenever Zhuang Xu was involved. He's a good kid.

Just became an adult at 20 ? What nonsense are you talking about lol. Believe it or not, being 19 is an adult. Not experienced one ofc, but adult nonetheless. What the feck is wrong with a 24 y/o being with a 19 y/o ? Also in Shine on Me, the male lead did not know the fl as a child. he first met her at a gala where she was already a university student.

You mad people be reaching sometimes. Sure, you might not like it but don't fcuking call it pedophilic. Insane people. Significantly ageing down grown ass adults to *child* levels to project some weird shite. Go see a doctor, you need mental counselling.

Skipping every scene with Zhuang Xu in it. One of the most dullest actors I've seen. His face is always -____-…
On your second or more watch, sure, skip. But on the first watch, skipping his scenes would be counterintuitive. The contrast between the two male leads for Xiguang is a big part of the drama.
