China has a lot of censorship laws so movies that are globally popular, are either historically accurate depictions approved by the CCP or, they are out of Hong Kong and Taiwan. Media from those two territories don't fall under the Chinese laws. Though nowadays Hong Kong is not that independent anymore like it used to be during the Kung Fu Hustle/Shaolin Soccer/IP Man or those legendary Jackie Chan movies era.
