I'm getting a feeling that Hagiwara's GF is cheating, which doesn't make it okay for HIM to cheat, mind you, which certain people tend to do 'revenge cheating' for getting cheated on.

Cheating is not ok, but the story is so well done, acted that I want to know more about their cheating escapades.
The story, so far, is being told in a way to show how certain people deal with things in these kinds of situations. The wrong way. However, I do have to agree with you that the acting is so far good, even after one episode.
