Japanese shows are the only ones in my book that can get away with that insane, over the top acting. This BL is so manga *and anime* coded (to myself: maybe because it was born from a manga girl...) and I'm here for it.
He is more focused, calm and resolute. He never loses his character and he is very clear in what needs to do. You can see that he is indded an old person in a young body.
Yes, it's quite different. The show is way more dramatic and over the top (which I understand, at the end of the day it has to be entertaining and exciting). Personally for me, I liked Armin's version in the novel more but I do love Pond's acting.
I really liked this show and I enjoyed watching it, but (please don't throw hate at me, this is my opinion and we can disagree) I'll stick with the novel on this one.
I don't want to sound dramatic but (I feel a lot of people here will understand me) this show is the best thing that ever happen to me (along with Revenged Love).
I feel like the only thing that could surpass this would be, I don't know, become a billonaire.
I'm (mostly) liking this show but having read the novel it's soooo different and I'm not 100% there. Specially Armin's character, in the novel he is pretty mature, focused and composed and here he is a hot mess. I will continue to watch it because I love Pond's acting in general but yeah, I'm sticking with the novel on this one.
5 episodes in and barely anything has happened yet, this is very very slow
I feel the same, but I kinda understand giving it's a 14 episodes show which is "long" compared to most BLs but I do hope we get to have some action soon.

I was personally gagged.
