I understand MK hurt, I do. I just don’t understand using the topic of marriage as a way to convey that hurt because it just doesn’t make sense in a show that lasts 3 weeks.
Majority of the blame falls Seungyong for bringing that up as a way to sabotage.

The preview for next episode is stressing me out because while I understand MK, I don’t get why the other male cast members feel it’s their place to “interrogate” Yoo Sik just because he is the youngest (and not all of them have good intentions either)

the thing is Yoo Sik and Hyeon Ji have never actually discussed something as serious as marriage so of course he wont know that. Its unfair for viewers to state that he is being cruel to MK by "wanting to marry someone after one week" or "chasing someone who has marriage in mind" when he didn't even that information, after all Hyeon Ji and him wouldn't discuss something so serious when they are just getting to know each other.

It isnt needless to say though? Neither Hyeon Ji nor Yoo Sik have even mentioned what will hapen after the show, least of all marriage. Yoo Sik doesnt even know Hyeon Ji wants to get married early so how can he pursue her with plans to marry her after just a week. People keep putting words into their mouths.

In my opinion, they are definitely leaving room for a season 2. Him surviving the explosion isn’t unrealistic,…
I really hope there will be a season 2. This show has the potential to become like The Strange Tale of Tang, with multiple seasons, especially since we haven’t even seen much of Tiemo yet, and they could introduce other rival nations as well.

Huai An definitely takes the win as the most strategic character I’ve watched in any C-drama.

I’m glad you enjoyed reading 😊

I mention factions because Cen, toward the end, refers to orders he received and a mission, which seems to have come from someone higher than him.

They may choose their kings based on power, but there are bound to be some who disagree and want power for themselves, especially in systems that don’t rely on elections or bloodline succession.

I also really loved the special; I just wish it had been longer and that we had seen Huai An’s face instead of only hearing his voice.

Title The Vendetta of An Spoiler
For those who say the special episode has inconsistencies or doesn't make sense:
In my opinion, they are definitely leaving room for a season 2. Him surviving the explosion isn’t unrealistic, because he essentially started a chemical fire. There are many solvents and techniques that can protect someone from burning when handling flammable materials. Fire performers do this all the time.

Secondly, the initial stabbing by Cen was clearly planned, which suggests he may have been wearing some form of protection underneath his clothes. However, when the Tiemo King twisted the knife, it did cause real damage, just not as much as the Tiemo King believed. He genuinely thought Xie Huai An had sacrificed his life, which is why he was so shocked to see him alive later.

Why it makes sense that he willingly went to prison:

He owes Cen a favour. Cen did not betray the Tiemo King for no reason, nor for love of Chang An. He did it because he belongs to another Tiemo faction that opposed the Tiemo King, who himself was not part of any noble or royal lineage but rose to power through killing.

Tiemo remains a serious threat unless a peaceful ruler takes control. Until then, they still have 200,000 soldiers and a deep thirst for blood. The agreement signed by the emissary only bought time and did not solve the problem.

Huai An has finally found his purpose, which is to protect Chang An and reduce unnecessary death. Throughout the show, people kept asking him what his purpose was and where he would go once everything was over, and he could never answer. He first began to find that answer when he let Yang Fenshang go, and fully understood it in the granary.

Realistically, he cannot remain in court. Huai An is too intelligent and too wise. No matter how much the emperor and Xiao Wen Jing trust him, the court officials would always feel threatened. Trust can erode over time, even without ill intent. This is why Zhang Mo’s father almost pleaded with the emperor in the valley, and why Xiao Wuyang said he would protect him. Historically, emperors rarely want someone so wise and influential too close to the throne, especially someone trusted by armies, capable of destabilising a powerful nation like Tiemo, and defeating generals far older and more experienced than himself. Eventually, someone in court would try to force the emperor’s hand.

Xie Huai An had two choices. He could disappear and live peacefully somewhere far from the capital, or use his intelligence to continue protecting Chang An by destabilising Tiemo and helping a less war-hungry faction rise to power.

He chose the second option.

Title Dear X Spoiler
Also Jun Seo was the one who actually loved her. Only person. He was with her throughout and he actually wasn't…
He is the only one who also really knew who she was. With Jae-Oh, she only showed two sides: the helpless girl who needed rescuing, or the perfect school crush he idealised. Jae Oh never saw the real her until his death.

People forget Jun Seo has been manipulated by her since childhood and has been fighting for her since childhood. I am surprised he didn't become a sociopath himself.

Exactly! The show did a good job of waking the viewers up often from our Ah Jin beauty induced states. No amount…
People don’t seem to understand that Jae Oh never actually saw her real personality. They keep insisting she must have loved him more because she smiled around him… but she was wearing a mask the entire time. With Jae Oh, she only showed two sides: the helpless girl who needed rescuing, or the perfect school crush he idealised.

He died for her because she manipulated him right up to the end, and that’s what makes it so heartbreaking.

I wish people had more of a mindset like this. Like this is what A Jin is. She is difficult to kill, so much even…
Lol exactly. She let one be thrown of a building and the other, she watched die in a car crash.

She loves no one but herself. I truly believe she was also laughing at Fate when she was on top of the rocks because its all so ironic.

If they do a season 2(which isn't needed), I think they will do a face change with another actress.

Title Dear X Spoiler
You are right. Reading through comments and having people say 'we love Ah Jin', 'she is a bitch but i love her'…
It’s honestly heartbreaking, because it shows how easily people can fall prey to someone like A Jin, especially when those people hold power.

I really enjoy her character and the storyline, but seeing people react to the ending with “it’s unfair” or “poor A Jin” is… worrying.

This girl cried a bit in the shower and then went right back to eating with her husband once she felt her position was secure. She had zero intention of avenging Jae Oh’s death.

And the worst part? It’s not like she’s emotionless or clueless about what she’s doing. She knows she’s wrong, but she still lies to herself and does whatever she wants anyway.

A true villainess.

Like seriously! She is poisoned flower of death.
She corrupts everything she touches and there would be no justice if she got away Scott free.

This is not a show about the male characters, they were all her tools.
Jun Seo was her most efficient tool until he bit back. That’s why she looks at him at the end with both anger, a little guilt and even satisfaction. Even he, who she grew up with, couldn’t escape the doom she brings.

Don’t even get me started on people shipping Jae Oh and A Jin together.

probably Junseo d riders anyway thank god his ass is dead. Always sabotaging ahjin hopefully she makes a comeback…
EXACTLY. Like it’s fine to hate his character but the twisting to justify her is insane lol. They hate him because apparently he made Jae Ho’ s death meaningless and didn’t get revenge on the husband but like ….. neither did she? She also had the video and was perfectly content still being that man’s wife lol.
