they couldn't be more creative? How did the Luo who was released from his duties get back in the palace? he was…
right! When YSA called the emperor a stupid coward the whole court murmurs in shock as if they didn’t know this to be the absolute truth! Everything YSA said was true and every single official in that court knew. They have to know. These are old men who have probably seen their share of the imperial palace powerplay. They’re not that dumb. But I don’t blame them for not stepping up. YSA may have nothing much left to lose except for Yeyun, but these old offficials probably have their whole families. One wrong step and they could all be executed.
It looks to me like he will probably die in episode 39 or beginning of 40. Pacing wise, Id imagine his funeral…
speaking of LZS’s sworn brother character. he’s a bit different that LZS. He at least seems to know he difference between right and wrong and chooses to do wrong. Or chooses to be indifferent and just follow orders blindly. I don’t think LZS knows the difference between right and wrong anymore. All he knows is that whatever brings down the enemy is right. And whoever protects the enemy is wrong.
Fan Yu really thought that being emperor was going to be fun and games? Now he’s expected to actually work, which I’m sure he hasn’t done a day of it in his life. He’s right about one thing though. Everybody who cared about him is gone. There’s no one left to lecture him or scold him. When he laid by his father’s death bed and said that he was afraid. In that moment I believed that he was just a misguided kid. Despite having the best people around him as a child, good people, intelligent, kind and noble. He somehow still ended up here. Should we blame Fan Xuan for failing to raise his son? Or should we assume that Fan Yu is just born this way?
Don’t tell me that LZS is redeemable or is a tragic character. Or that he has anything other than hatred in his heart. He would kill every first born in the kingdom if it meant he could defeat GJS. Do you see how much blood he has on his hands? It would flood the yellow river. Good thing we have a dam now.
damn. They rally should have moved Zhou family out as well. With the empirical court in such turmoil and Gu as Luo enemy number 1, and Zhou family as their closest allies, they really should have snuck them out as well. Fan Yu might not harm Zhou family, but we know that Luo will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I feel so bad for Zhou Gao Lang, but at least he still have his sons. Poor Zhou Ye and Qin Wan Zhou, their love had barely began to blossoom.
I have to admit I'm kind of surprised and disappointed with where it sits right now on Douban (6.7 as of writing).…
i saw some reviews on bilibili where people explain all the non logical things from the first few episodes. I do agree with some of them. But I wouldn’t give the show a 1 star because of that. I also disagree with people that say this show is the best costume drama all year and that it is perfect. I’m still enjoying the show despite its flaws.

isn’t there a show that’s like a 2 on douban and panned in China but it’s like a 7.8 here 😂. I’m like…. ok MDL audience is realllly generous with the scores.
One reason why MDL scores are higher, and why foreign shows on Douban are higher, is because of how foreign language shows work. If the acting, line delivery is bad or awkward it’s less noticeable if you don’t speak the language. For example, I hear that Train to Busan was not as well received in Korea compared to the west. Partly because of the acting. I think the acting was good. But I don’t speak Korean.
Not the case here though, the acting is pretty good.
I wonder why iqiyi didn’t provide any express or fast track package
well look at it this way. At least we have another week to enjoy Destined. If the show had a ongoing daily schedule, it would have finished airing already.
