I enjoy KDramas because they are a glimpse into the Korea as a people, a culture, a psyche, a perspective. It’s fascinating to watch. I have never been to Korea, nor have I any Korean friends, so I do not know if what I see from the dramas are a reflection of what is "normal" in everyday life in Korea. The advent of pretty boys (thank god, most of them can act) specifically tailored for women or girls who are willing to spend money to watch these boys on screen, somewhat shifted the production demand. But, I do miss dramas about real people, their real struggles and triumphs, retold in a realistic setting with realistic plot. I am sure there are great directors who can pull this off.
There is so much potential to tap into. Villains, support roles should not always have to be played by the same set of people. Try and watch 10 dramas and tell me how many times the same person/s play the support role. I bet it's more than 3. At least they have a steady income and it's suprisingly comforting to see a familiar face playing another version of support role, knowing that even if the leads will fail to act well, the support roles will be solidly acted.
A shift is, indeed, needed. More solid storytelling, directing and acting could be helpful in any genre of drama produced.
I have been looking at the comments for days to decide whether or not to watch the series and funny enough I see the same people commenting with hatred again and again lol
on another note but damn DING YU XI is so handsome and gorgeous, i have watched all of his dramas and i love him so much, he’s such a beautiful young man (i love his eyes A LOT, his smile and his little smirk haha) and i find him a great actor , i wanna see him as ML in sooooo many other dramas, i think he’s very good as ML.
does WETV have any regular length series. OMG every thing is a mini mini series
There are still many regular long Chinese costume drama though. But some peoples always complain about long episode has filler and they feel bored of any scenes that are not about main couple. So this short dramas are suitable for them.
Since short drama has less censorship than regular dramas, they can make more crazy plot like Love & Bid Farewell & main couple can have more steamy skinship.
Very light hearted, sweet, and adorable ❤❤ Not as high action packed as ML's other dramas Hard to Find & Butterflied Lovers. The main leads do have a popular show on Viki called My Girl, I highly recommend it.

The way I want to hit everyone with a metallic baseball bat on the head 😄
This was easily the best episode so far. Sang Cheol was a pleasure to watch.
Kudos to the actors that play the bad guys too cause they are doing an incredible job.

She has a room full of his photos - creepy stalker. Obsessing over him for years.
Then she thinks by giving him a hope of fixing her friend, they will end up together.
She is constantly crossing the personal space zone. Ok, you tried to confess.. but to physically jump him over - that’s a harassment!
If she was a guy, people would call her a rapist…
