I have not read the book so I don’t have that as a reference for comparison. But compared to both US and Korean TV series I have watched it is one of the most powerful, gut wrenching, moving experiences I have watched. To examine the human condition in deeply painful and difficult circumstances yet out of that also see the best of humanity “we are together on the same lot. Mercy is neither a gift or a power. Mercy is an admission. Survival comes at a cost.“

This episode had me sobbing. What sacrifices have our ancestors made to survive…a sobering contemplation

Title Pachinko Season 2 Spoiler
i was worried about how they would handle isak's fate, and they dedicated a whole episode to him. what a powerful episode. i loved that isak had a chance to talk with sunja and his boys for the last time. the last scene with isak and sunja being a direct parallel to their scene in the 1st season. and how isak's last gift to his kids was reassuring them that he loves them. it's so unfortunate that yoseb didn't get to see his brother and even attend his funeral. the last scene with the funeral being interrupted by bombs was heartbreaking.

He is the most toxic male lead i have ever witnessed in any drama, i have never hoped for bad ending to any drama, but this time i want the ML to die brutally...

Enjoyed this article. The content put my thoughts and feeling in perspective. Cdrama has been rocking lately. In Kdrama my favorites have left it on other streaming platforms…maybe they feel the same way.

being a hard fan of genre took me in years many stages of emotional towards these fucking MANGO TV translations so today I found them hilarious

watch them change the title to something like "you're the one and only I'll love forever in blossom" and everybody…
*I will eternally love in the nirvana of blossom

One thing that's starting to put me off are the many mini-series with open endings so they can add season after season, instead of the 16-20 episodes format.
I've got nothing against 8 episodes series, but damn I want endings! Give me a story that i can start AND finish without having to wait months or that will never have a proper ending just because they cancelled the show! I don't get it, like, nobody makes proper ending for their stories nowdays.
So, not only I found myself with many poorly scripted dramas with too many cliché I've already seen, but most of the stories are getting are inserting lots of "appetizers" for western audience (which, if I wanted that, I'd go watch american tv shows, not dramas come on) and Im not even getting a proper ending.
So, yeah, I struggle to find korean dramas I really like nowdays T-T

There was a time when people used to enjoy dramas like I hear your voice , Romance is a bonus book without complaining…
There's a cultural component too. In South Korea 15% of brides are older than grooms because women consider younger men more equitable (ie, less misogynistic) partners and men prefer older women with established careers because of the high COL. The same isn't true worldwide, many countries are actually getting more regressive with gender roles.

There was a time when people used to enjoy dramas like I hear your voice , Romance is a bonus book without complaining about age gap but then so many dumb people started to watch kdramas. Kdramas should have stayed underrated.
