Yh unfortunately. It was my biggest shock factor and many people too. A lot of people, like me and you, like IQIYI because it’s basic two subscriptions, one standard and one premium to access the ‘binge watch’ episode outlined in their terms.
All the other 3 platforms work the same way, you pay for the VIP, then pay extra for the express, and another one on top of that to get the exclusive contents if they have them.
I would rank WeTv and MangoTv both as #2 for having the same paid system but mango is ishy with subs, ai subbing is not as good as the other platforms with not as much content like the other 3 either.
YOUKU would be the absolute worse for paying. VoS was an example. They seriously have an extra extra paid content on top of the vip and express stuff.

A general reminder for everyone is that unfortunately, an adaptation does not always mean a true 100% book to live adaptation. You will almost always be disappointed at anything different. So if you notice this type of pattern, read the book last. You’ll get to enjoy the drama fresh before being destroyed by the book.
I myself did this as it helps to change my mindset into comparing the drama vs book than being disappointed at what scenes and events gets demolished by screenwriters of the drama. It’s the same for everyone but different when we choose to read it first knowing it’s an adaptation than those who actually have read the book before knowing it’s getting adapted.

He wasn’t ‘hallucinating’, the way I saw it, is that he is simply just self projecting his child self and talking to it over playing Go as a way to give the audience and himself a visualisation/audio of how he’s planning to take power and what moves means what as it’s easier, and technically playing himself and the opponent in Go at the same time. I honestly thought he was talking to the child emperor at first so it’s like thinking he’s trying to challenge the emperor since he wants more power.

Ye Li is different. this is a coping mechanism/trauma as she also seems to be having nightmares too from losing her loved ones and is ‘alone’ entirely in a forest.
First episode is ok, nothing too exciting. The plot is very basic, 40 mins with just 10 eps is a little too short for my liking. Will wait for the next couple of episodes to see if it’ll track better. Amangst the other lakorns airing, this one almost seems like a filler from ch5.

according to mdl, it should be 12pm china time, the same time most dramas are scheduled at. if anyone is following Ashes to Crown atm, it’s the same time but on WeTV.
