I was face slapped with 2nd hand embarrassment so many times, I don’t know where to hide my face now. 😂
PS: Having connections truly is wonderful, no need to suffer in the ‘Office of Drums and Bells’.
You get free hotpot, a clean private space for your entertainment with a dug out tunnel to escape, free emperor sleeping by your side and personnel at your disposal who can craft up a retractable knife. ✌🏼
I agree with everything you said, but especially the part about Hu Yi Xuan. It's actually my first time noticing…
I was actually noticing how her face seems to have slimmed down in this drama from The Mysterious World, The Sleepless Princess and Unforgettable Love days I watched along time ago. It was a little jarring after not seeing her for so long lol
She seems to have fallen back into 2nd lead roles these days. It would be great to see her in leading roles more.
After watching a serious drama about emperors, ministers and history, watching CEO Dan go absolute batshit crazy throwing, screaming and swinging swords around in court back to back was super hilarious and fun. 😂 It’s so refreshing.
2 handsome mls and 1 lady almost third wheeling? 😂 That isn’t fair for our HCY. I’m happy to see actresses from vertical doing shorts for the big 4 now. The plot so far isn’t too bad.
Seeing them with beards, growing old and weary and then dying with regret of not knowing how having a toast during peaceful times taste like is sad. GR talking to that sheep herder was the testiment of how vast he, the emperor was to what the common people live by and wanted.
Also, as we’re getting closer into familiar dynasty adaptations, the attire and some form of speech are changing but why is the hand gesture with the thumb sticking out still hasn’t changed? Is this accurate? Why do some dramas use the ‘cupping’ form of salute without the thumbs?
No way Qiao Haolun dies but Lee dong ming the most that happens is he loses his job (Im not sure tho) Kind of…
I generally write a couple of things trying to be as vague as possible but hint things for those who want to know a bit about the ending. I didn’t spoiler tag it bc some people, me included do not like to voluntarily watch something about cheating and not know whether it has a HE or not. The rest was just personal opinion.
Yes, it ends with ZM clicking on DY song saved on her laptop, listening to it with a smile in the office and then she picks up the phone when he calls her and she asked where he was. It rolls into her walking to him performing on stage with the guitar and fades with her going up on an escalator with some personal reflection monologue.

Yep, QHL had a brain haemorrhage in the office and died, she was also depressed. LDM saw her collapsed on the floor and was pretty shocked, he compensated her family and went to pay his respects at her parents house. He had an ‘accident’ walking out on the street after coming out and took time off work for recovery. To me, it really doesn’t justify her dying.
I was hoping for more romance between DY and ZM despite the obvious tone it had. Even the bf had gotten a proposal from SM. All ZM got was DY comforting her with him playing the guitar, a back hug, face cuddle, and hair drying teasing after he chased her in the rain with no answer to whether they were dating or not lol.
A HE I guess? Depends, it’s definitely a little different from what I expected.
The divorce wasn’t finalized until the very last ep, LDM dragged it out to the very end and with conditions at that. I did not expect QHL to end up like that though. As oppose to LDM I don’t think she should end up like she did. (HardTruth has commented something about this related to the book which happens in the drama).
ZM finally got to that long overdue promotion. I like the way they wrapped this arc up but I felt it was also kind of rushed, they could’ve expanded more into it but ok.
And for the awaiting question: Did she end up with DY?
It was open ended. Both made some movements around ep 22 onwards and have some comforting moments together, theres no definite scenes to say yes, they’re together like the book does, but you know they’re interested in each other.
One thing is for sure, the OST is really nice and inspiring to listen to. A pure business related plot about the hardships of women in the industry of sales.
I’m really hesitant to start this one guys. I saw snippets here and there of the dongua years ago but someone spoiled something about a ‘certain’ something happening to the ml so I didn’t get through it. 😭
I have seen and read bits and pieces of the importance the Yellow River and flooding causing disasters during this period in books and dramas but never truly understood its history and the Guo family until now.
I haven’t watched a romcom kdrama in so long that I actually forgot I’ve seen the fl in Kill It but knew the actor playing the in law from Missing: the other side lol. 😂
I miss this genre.
Let’s all not forget that time is a luxury. Who you spend it with, what you say and what you do can all change in a matter of minutes. The ml grew to hate his own bro not knowing he had secrets he couldn’t tell and not even his own wife knew about, the fl regretted saying all those harsh words to her sister and now they’re coparenting their own nephew.
Tbe last 6 eps had a bunch of things happening. Most guessed right from the beginning about WNY parents. The plot twist for this arc was a little weird and honestly I couldn’t get into it. It felt a little lacklustre for me unfortunately.
The finale was ok, the development of the cure was long in the making but they made it at the end and at the cost of someone being in a coma for a while to save everyone else.
Correction to my previous comment, they split for 2 years. The way this arc was edited made it seem they only split for 6 months bc she only joined as a student 6 months ago but it was 2 years. It was bad editing.
Overall, the OSTs were nice, and some extra BTS/ epilogue released out that you have to pay extra for yet again but trust me, it makes up for all that ep 40 ending and will cure you with extra extra comfort. 😍
Some little details I liked were the rings hanging on their necklaces after this break up period and them sleeping together on the bed and she found out he was taking anxiety meds and confronted him about it.
The book wasn’t available on my end and I couldn’t read the last chapter but I figured the fl would be paired…
Oh sorry, I meant the episode previews bc I dropped it after a couple of eps but I was on the edge of picking it back up so I was looking at some of the previews where they seem to be working together.
YWY: *ahem* I grew fat and got stuck.

All of a sudden, QC kids are now all grown up. It’s kinda weird, we only got like 1 second of them as children and now they’re in court robes.

The cases were ok, everything seems solved but they’re not and I think it was sort of obvious. The OST were nice however.

Poor LJ will forever be third wheeling. 😂
