a ‘classic’ HE. for 8 eps, the plot isn’t too bad but unfortunately, very basic. casts are nice, costume are ok, the editing is a little bad, like that one scene where they filmed man being stabbed with a bloodless sword lol but it’s fine. it’s just too short!

I know some people are a little disappointed by some castings not reprising but honestly Han Dong is killing this role and suit appearance is absolutely superb.

yh they dressed him up like an actual prisoner about to be executed alright. 😂😂 some scenes flew quick as a flashback, I had to focus on the subtitles and what the fl was doing and couldn’t recognise his makeup face other than his voice.

no, none of them have any past life memories except CZ, she did tell XYL about it somewhere halfway through on how it ended and why she’s trying to change that fate.
the ‘revenge’ is that XX personally still has plans to kill her and her clan. the others didn’t necessarily have to take action like he does. he was the one who personally beheaded her own father before killing her, he would’ve done so had she not broken off the marriage and became the Grand Princess in this life too. dying the same way means she was gifting him the same treatment he had given her the last life and it doesn’t matter whether he remembers or not, he would not have hesitated in killing her or her family at all.

lol I once read a very passionate comment from somewhere arguing about Chinese medicine vs western re basic things like taking the pulse or how Chinese medicine can miraculously cure people who tried western in a book plot. everything fiction is fiction. you just have to make it make sense without actually trying to make it make sense. 😂
a HE. the battle scenes were ok, honestly I agree with everyone else that 24 eps is not enough for this type of drama. the beginning started out great but I felt the political side of things were just too condensed and rushed, especially towards the ending. would’ve loved to be introduced to the new addition of the family though.
