maybe that is, what the hype of those, who worship this show, is about :-) , the politics and the superior scheming and the mystery, and overall, the way, all characters... come together.

i have yet to find another drama, chinese or western, that has this level of well, masterpiece scheming. and well, I am 43 yrs old , and have been watching Hongkong dramas for 20 years of my life and US shows my entire life. any other chinese drama and show after nirvana in fire, has not reach its genius level but maybe because i am not looking for conventional love stories (such as the very pretty three-lives-three-worlds-the-pillow- and assorted such as ashes of love and so on) or uncoventional ones like BL dramas (such as untamed or word of honor) with such intensity, as maybe i would, if i were younger.

long ramble , short conclusion: nobody is forced to see any hype , if its not your cup of tea, then its not.

I know, right? i mean, i saw this 2 years ago, it was the drama that well, ruined me for every other drama, chinese or western. sure, untamed is a masterpiece of hurt/comfort, and joy of life is also genius. But alas, i have seen nothing yet, that is able to beat NIF.
if the highest ranking you can give here is a 10, then i guess, i had to give this show at least a 30...

no other ending could have been more perfect!I totally anticipated that it would end in tears, but honestly, there had been hardly any comedian moments, so the story was going to be like that. but its totally fitting, any happy ending would have made the entire story cheaper! this was gorgeous! well not entirely NIV level of tragedy , but along with One and Only, these two are quite close.

I am pretty sure its both, he likes her, and He likes Power and Support that comes with marrying her. Those two are not mutually exklusive. But that is just me guessing i did not read the novel.

its so true, even though there are not lieke 70,000 dead people to avenge, but gosh, both series are driving me crazy! well, they will both end in tears, so thats ok :D

so what if its heartbreaking, i am sure the sequel will mend our hearts.
i mean , most of us here have been heart broken by so many tragic CN dramas, one more wont kill you, and trust us, the visuals and the story are STUNNING!

i have not been in love with a drama since nirvana in fire, and thats been 6 years...(ok except joy of life, but thats like complete kind of drama, so one cannot really compare...)

absolutely gorgeous visuals, plotty and plotted story, its the closest i am addicted to a drama since nirvana in fire! gosh, this is near ridiculous, but i am on the way of loving this more than untamed, Long ballad and the wolf , combined! (ok there is still joy of life, which is second to Nirvana in fire!! so that makes this one and only the third place!! except, also watching Dream of Chang'an , and that one is also damn fine.. still i like this drama a tad more! )

now if they would only ever release fated general, so that i can compare...

from how i understood the summary above, this series ist not a drama with ONE plot, but more like an anthology, meaning, 40 episodes, with complete different cast / characters and completely independent plots and stories.

the girls are twins, but then they grew up, looking not like twins, so when they meet, they do not recognize each other?!?

so, the villain is the eunuch Qiu Shi Liang, right? and one of the twin girls became his goddaughter? because she doesn't know, he is one of those behind the murder of her family?? or is her letting her being adopted some scheme to get revenge?

I am really sorry, but that summary leaves me confused all over?? I know no one of the cast, but they all look pretty enough so that I want to give this drama a try (lol, especially the eunuch, I know, I am weird, but I think he is kinda hot with the white hair)

can someone help me, and give me an understandable summary? or at least direct me to some other page with a less confusing summary of the entire plot?

on the topic of kissing, i guess, I dont care about that in Chinese Dramas.
if i want naked skin, kissing, and porn and sex, i would watch American fantasy and modern Dramas , not Chinese ones.
