As long as the rating is higher than a 6.5, I think you should give the drama a chance if you're interested in…
It is really heartening to see someone leave a comment like this, definitely best to give a show a go than be led by the often overwhelming negative commentary on my drama list.
I am enjoying this but finding Butler Kwon in the first two episodes a bit OTT Bond villainess. I just think her performance is a smidge jarring & overly melodramatic. Fine she doles out rat poison, has to know everything that goes on in the house, is a bit creepily fixated on her boss and is a tinge menacing with that walking stick but couldn't she do it in a slightly less overt way. Mrs Danvers (1940) was a lot more subtle than this.
Love the show but wish there was a little less of: we're breaking up, we're not breaking up, we must be apart, nope we are together again and now we are breaking up again.
I still don't understand why series can still be rated before they're completed...but I guess nobody else feels…
I agree I have thought MDL should set it up that way but what I think is worse is people who rush to write a review before the show is complete, it feels a bit desperate to get their view out there.
4.5......How can anyone credibly rate something after one episode. It is not exactly an informed opinion. Even if they really don't like it, does it definitely merit 4.5. I think its better to give something a chance and preferable just to not rate so early doors if it was not for you - rather than give it a lowly 4.5. I am hoping this is some algorithm error. Forgive my rageyness.
Ok i just watched 10 mins of ep 9 and i realized I don't want to watch mi-jo and her sadness anymore. I am going…
I agree, I am finding it hard to understand why Woo Jin is so enamoured with her. I know she is going through a very hard time in her life but every episode is mostly her sad or apparently trying to her hide her sadness but failing and being comforted by everyone around her desperate to resolve her sadness. I don't mind darker subject materials but there are few shades of light to make this a more enjoyable watch. I would have liked more of a romantic joo hee/hyun jin dynamic to balance things out a bit rather than another episode focused on mi jo looking mournful/a bit sad/putting on a brave front.
I am someone who has watched 3 dramas of the actress and I've stopped trying to watch anymore. I don't like her…
I felt the same way as you and really enjoyed mystic pop up bar. The dramas that she is in that I rate, it was more that for me they were good in spite of her ( that I liked the lead male or the story) because she was just too way too over the top and screechy for me in romantic comedy. I liked her a bit more in a Melo such as Secret but Mystic Pop up bar is the first drama that I have actively liked her character and performance, I would give it a go if I were you,
I'm really curious on how they will build up Ji Woong character, because its too soon to assume he like Yeon Soo,…
I think its Yeon Soo, when he first saw her again - it was the way he looked at her as if he had run into someone he once had really strong feelings for,
I wish someone would not rate when only one episode out. One episode is not enough to accurately rate a 16 episode show - it is not really giving it a chance.
Im gonna be honest I want there to be romance. I really do. I know I'm not the only one. The first 10 min of todays…
I totally agree, I long for them to have a romantic relationship. Even if they have found a kindred spirit in each other and a friendship of sorts has been formed there is a palpable romantic tension and chemistry between the leads. Nobody looks at their friends the way they do. I am going to be severely gutted if nothing comes of this and I sincerely hope I am not in for a she stays with her husband kind of an ending.
I think cheating is wrong but overall in life I don't see things as clearly black or white so I started off thinking this could be an interesting drama but now I have no idea idea why I am still watching it, maybe so I can say I endured to the end.....The big problem I have is almost everyone is highly unlikeable, the men, the mistresses, the wives and sadly some of the children too. I just don't enjoy spending time with these characters, hopefully I will manage to resist starting season 2!
I am older and I have no doubt it is a brilliant drama and is aimed at my age group but it was way too oppressive…
I don't want to get into a back and forth, I'm at work. I love k dramas, the acting and the emotional heart of them. I don't think all western shows are one note but I actually referred to European TV and world cinema. Breaking bad, Stranger things, The wire, broen, This is England, La casa de paper and El marginal are well written, acted, thought provoking and have emotional heart without the tropes that standardly crop up in k drama. Essentially all I'm saying is I love them for different reasons and come to them for different reasons which is ok for me to do. I am not looking to get into a debate and can't reply to further messages. Kind regards Lynn
