This isn't the worst thing I watched, but far from the best. I think the directing is lacking. The story isn't…
Also the ending with the mom was just dumb. She has no repercussions, the dad just trades the sons so that now the younger brother is now screwed and everyone is just like that's how it's oh well.
This isn't the worst thing I watched, but far from the best. I think the directing is lacking. The story isn't completely fleshed out and many of the characters just felt whiny.
I read the Chinese book this is based on about 3 years ago and was surprised when I found this synopsis while scrolling for a new drama. While the novel wasn't my favorite, I was intrigued that there was a Thai bl adaptation so I gave it a try. It's not bad, from my memory it keeps most of the main points of the book. Surprisingly the drama is less angsty than the book, there were parts in the novel that were just gut wretching. I'm only through episode 4 of the uncut version though so it could change.
Also yes Ming is a walking red flag, and yes Joe was such a sweetie that should have kicked Ming to the curb, but every now and then, an angsty storyline with a broken ML is a nice break from the fluff I usually like 😁
I love the storyline of this one more than 2, but loved the two leads of 2 better. The two leads in this one had 0 chemistry and was awkward to watch at times. The actor who played Phana was kind of wooden and the actor who played Wayo was okay, don't think he had much to act from.
Loved Ming and Kit in both versions, I remember when they announced 2 was going to have a new cast and I hated the idea of Ming and Kit being replaced, but both versions were good.
Beam and Forth didn't have much time in the first season so I wasn't attached to them. Probably won't ever watch this version again, maybe will watch 2 again, but they keep changing the cast I just can't with franchise. Maybe in 5 years they will have a proper reboot, or maybe the show is just cursed.
Watched season 1 and 2 for the second time and I remember why I liked this one better, the 2 leads have way more chemistry. I remember loving original Ming and Kit but the 2 actors here I also love. Loved Beam and Forth in this one better, but their story is kind of boring to me.
I just wish we got season 1 with these 2 leads as I liked the storyline of season 1 a lot. I haven't worked up the courage to watch season 3 with a whole new cast yet.
Didn't dislike either of the leads, but didn't love them either. The story in the 2nd half is so aimless and too many plot points were not concluded. Not bad, but not good.
Personally really enjoyed this slow burn. Loved Santa and Earth's chemistry, and loved both of their acting. Surprised…
It's funny to me that others don't like Earth's acting because I wasn't a fan of Earth's acting in his previous works, but I thought he played this character really well .
Only thing I can think of is maybe they didn't like the character of Eiw. I wasn't a big fan of Eiw to begin with, but liked him more in the college years, shows character growth.
Not bad, pretty good acting. Just wasn't a fan of how much time was spent on the high school years and then the story fell flat to me in the last couple of episodes. Probably won't watch again.
I went in with low expectations as Thai bl series have really left me down recently, but this one is not bad. The acting was great, the crying scenes were well done and the kiss scenes looked like a real couple kissing.
I will say, some of the pacing was off and some plot points feel forced. Also from episode 9 on the story was mediocre. If they left it at 9 episodes with the 9th one reworked, it would have been better.
Loved the brothers dynamic and loved the little brother as a character, but wasn't that invested in the 2nd couple story line, felt forced
Not bad for a short K bl, but the story was lacking after about episode 6. If it was given even just 10 minutes more an episode to flesh out the story it could have been great. Episode 11 pacing was weird. I will say there are some really aesthetically pleasing shots in this series and they 2 leads weren't awkward with the intimate contact, felt nice.
All in all I would watch a season 2 but not sure I would rewatch season 1.
I fell tricked they made it so the whole focus of the first 10 episodes was pointless. I think the story was over complicated just because the writer is a little bit sadistic. So many conflicting feelings with how it ends as well. I really can't tell if I'm happy I watched this or not hahaha.
On a side note, the actor who played Dew was so much better in this than his role in Until We Meet Again. Starting to think UWMA had some iffy directing as both actors seem better in this one.
This show gave me such conflicting feelings, on one hand I like the story, I remember reading it before the translator had to stop. On the other hand there was too many cringe moments, mostly with Pharm's actor. Sometimes he did well and other times he looked constipated and awkward, not sure if it was him or the director but it was hard to watch at times.
The other part I really disliked was Pharm's overly shy character, I mean for the first few times I get it, but it felt like Dean was constantly coaxing a child. I now remember why I dropped it when it first came out.
This drama just left me conflicted. It was too short and too long, trying to be deep while being shallow, and the timeline in the first few episodes was confusing.
I think if the script went through a couple more revisions and the editing better thought out, this could have been a great drama. As it stands now though, it's completely forgettable and one I probably won't watch again.
Not usually a fan of high school dramas as I'm far past the target age, but I felt this one was well done. No one is the good guy or bad guy, just teenagers trying to navigate the world which I liked. The fluffy moments were cute and I was really looking forward to the teachers romance but still no season 2 so won't hold my breath.
The one complaint (not really) I have is the "congratulations" sign in ep 7 is spelled so close, but so wrong, made me giggle.
The first half wasn't bad, not a complete script, but had its own charm, then it went off completely. The last couple of episodes were chaotic and confusing with only an outline of a script.
I kept feeling like I was missing more parts than normal, like I'm used to short BLs that condense the story, but this one is on a other level. I feel like this could have been so much better if the story was fleshed out even a little bit more.
Also yes Ming is a walking red flag, and yes Joe was such a sweetie that should have kicked Ming to the curb, but every now and then, an angsty storyline with a broken ML is a nice break from the fluff I usually like 😁

I do wish that they gave more than 10 minutes of the last episode to show them finally together, then maybe all the angst would have been worth it.
